They are 25% cheaper than the previous company, always show up and have maintained the pool well. The only complaint: I wanted them to fix the small electric pump on a fountain by the front door and they have never come by to do that. I'm assuming that was an oversight. Just reminded them and expect it will now be taken care of promptly.

Response from Clear Expectations
Wow. This is very hard to read. As a company who prides themselves on customer service and providing exceptional service, it is hard to accept hearing the comments from such an unorganized and unprofessional company. We service hundreds of apartment communities throughout the county and have never dealt with such lack of communication and lack of organization. A few facts. On July 3rd we received an email saying our contract has been accepted to service a small fountain and they were ready for us to start on Friday, July 6th. Even without a contract and on vacation, I maintain communication and arrange for our general manager to meet at the property. For some reason, the person who posted these comments somehow believes she met with me, although I was out of town.. After requesting a contract on 3 separate occassions, we finally received a contract 3 weeks later on July 27th. The contract was accepted but just waiting for a signature from the person who posted on this site. This contract was in her hands at the end of May. Her assistant even responded to me, obviously frustrated, letting me know she was just waiting to receive it back. This should have been a red flag. The mistake we made was not walking away from the business at this time. We are then given an incorrect code to the property, as it had changed since the first meeting on Friday, July 6th. We then make several phone calls to the office and follow up with emails and are told by the assistant, who sent over the contract, that they do not have the new code. So on multiple occassions we wait for over 30 minutes for somebody to leave the building in an effort to service the fountain. During the 30 minutes of waiting, we actually call the office and nobody can help us. We are then asked why the fountain does not look good. Amazing. I then send an email saying we are going to terminate fountain service and that we are actually going to void the invoices (give a refund for all services) as we were not able to access the building and service the fountain properly. So at the end of the day, we over communicated, could not obtain a code to service the property and did not charge the association for any of our time we spent meeting at the property, waiting to get in gate, calling the office (over 4 hours) and we are accused of providing poor service. The reality is that we made 0 dollars and lost valuable time because the association could not figure out how to provide a code to access the property.

I asked Matt to lend his brain to a confounding water flow problem with a new koi pond that the very expensive landscape company that installed the system but couldn't fix in half dozen visits. It took Matt about 20 minutes to sort that out. What a hero. I'll be using Matt for anything and everything to do with my pool.
Description of Work: I get a weekly pool maintenance visit from Matt at Clear Expectations; chemical balancing, vacuuming, etc. In addition, I will be using Matt for servicing my cartridge filter and whatever else arises.

Better than the best. I could not say enough good things about Clear Expectations and the company’s owner, Matt. We’ve had numerous contractors in and out since we moved into our new (35+ yrs old) house, and for the most part, we’ve not had really great experiences. Matt, however, really stood apart from the rest of the crowd. He is knowledgeable, professional, and clearly very enthusiastic about his business. (It definitely makes you feel more comfortable when you can tell someone really likes his job.) Our pool was clear in just about a day or so, and he left us enough chemicals to make sure we could keep it going until we had a chance to purchase supplies. He didn’t try to sell us on anything; he just gave us a very thorough, honest, well-articulated tour of our new pool system. He kept going even after it started raining on us! We're trying to handle the pool maintenance ourselves, but if we have any problems or if we need something, Matt will be the one we call to make sure we get an honest assessment of what needs to be done, and a fair price. Clear Expectations provides excellent service, and I recommend this company without hesitation.
Description of Work: We called Clear Expectations after the pool at the house we recently purchased turned green – we’d put off dealing with it because we weren’t sure how to work the filters and pumps, & there was a lot of obsolete equipment to wade through. Matt, the owner, came out at the end of the day and spent about 1 ½ hrs explaining how our system worked, basically teaching us how to care for our pool. The task was complicated by the tangle of unused pipes and equipment from old pumps and an old solar system that no longer worked that cluttered up the pool shed. No worries. Matt made sure we knew what was important and how to manage it. He also checked the chemical balance, added chlorine, and scrubbed the algae off of the pool surfaces (and made sure we understood everything he was doing and how to do it ourselves).
