Did a good job.

We called Chism Brothers in October of last year when were thinking about painting our dreary, white-washed maple kitchen cabinets in 2013. James Becker, the estimator, was friendly, informative, professional ... I was impressed and convinced painting was the way to go. Our schedule was flexible and Chism Brothers put us on the schedule to start January 14th. Victor and Doug came bright and early (7:00am) each morning. They were friendly, efficient, quiet, and neat! They always tried to have our kitchen neat-as-a-pin at the end of the day so that we could use the stove and fridge. Each step of the process was explained - from spray painting to brush strokes. The result? We have beautiful, updated, sparkling-white cabinets! The process was relatively painless (getting up at 6:30am to let the guys in at 7:00 was hard for me!) I would recommend Chism Brothers Painting in a heartbeat.

James the estimater was very helpful and accessable. He came out to the house twice. He had great ideas for repairing some areas and painting ideas. Troy, the painter kept me informed via telephone calls as to their progress. They were careful not to let my dogs out of the back yard. He paid special attention to the repair of the foundation wall and did a great job of matching it to the surrounding area. He put a bonding material on the posts like we wanted. He removed the flag holders after they had painted the area and repainted the exposed area.

Since the company could not be bothered to return my phone call, I will not be re-contacting them in the future.

We needed a major repainting of the interior of our house, which included vaulted ceilings, skylights, quite a few doors, and specialty paints. Chism Brothers did great work at a fair price. They told me from the outset that they weren't bargain basement, but if you want a truly professional job, you have to choose a company that knows what they are doing from beginning to end, and they do. I thought the price was actually really good for all the work that the job required. The most important part of what they did was excellent prep work, which was needed to undo some of the shoddy work that had been done before we bought the house. They sanded and made all surfaces beautiful so that they look almost like new construction. The timing of the job was tricky, as we had a small window of time and several segments that had to be completed separately, all of which was accommodated by Chism Brothers exactly as we needed.

I first heard about Chism when a window technician adjusting my windows mentioned that he thought they were one of a few companies in town who knew how to remove and reassemble windows properly for painting. It was time to convert our old 80’s interior oil-based paint finish to latex, so we needed to paint pretty much the whole house interior including a lot of detail work (stairway, cabinets, windows and doors with muntins, and mouldings). This was a 4 week project of difficult painting with lots of prep work. This company is very organized and professional. Whenever you call them you always get a person, not a machine. Their bid was very detailed and fair. They assign a project manager to your case who works daily with you one-on-one and is very attentive to listening to your concerns. The painting crew is very consistent, experienced, and skilled. They are honest, trustworthy people with lots of integrity that you can trust to have in your home. They listen and try very hard to please their customers. They labeled and numbered all the hinges for our windows, doors, and cabinets so they wouldn’t get mixed up and require adjustments after painting. All our windows and doors operated the same after painting as they did before. They go to great lengths to protect your furnishings and belongings from paint overspray. Too much paint on your mouldings will blur the detail and crisp lines, but they get the right amount of paint where it belongs so the details are preserved. You also don’t have to worry about having paint ruin your most cherished possessions. This was a large project, so I was worried about getting paint all over the place, but that didn’t happen. They use a special liquid mask to keep paint off the glass of the windows and doors. They used a finish coat that is smoother, harder, and more durable than what we’ve had before, so it will be easier to keep clean. They paint straight sharp lines at transition points, so the end result looks very professional. If you need help beyond painting, they have a carpenter on staff as well as connections to some of the best craftsmen in town. Their carpenter replaced a rotted outdoor fence gate post that was anchored in a huge block of concrete. It took a whole day to dig it out and 3 guys to haul it away, but the gate now looks and works like new. They planed the wood back off another gate so that it would open freely without sticking. They also hooked us up with a wallpaper expert who repaired a large 12” hole in our drywall and did a seamless wallpaper repair. They referred us to a skilled finish carpenter who refit our old cabinets with new hinges. They even helped us re-hang a large chandelier. Chism is a great painting company but also so much more.

Chism Brothers Painting resurfaced, stained and added a clear coat to our fiberglass entry door which was looking pretty ragged.It came out beautifully. Raul Suarez completed the work and was very thorough and meticulous. He contacted us over the weekend to confirm a starting time and was professional and prompt on both visits to complete the job. Most of the work was done under a tarp he setup in the driveway and there was little inconvenience to us.

We received two quotes from "A" rated members on Angie's List and chose Chism Brothers based on a slightly more robust quote. The price included all scrapping, sanding, primer and two coats of paint. Working with James, the estimator we settled on the Sherwin Williams Duration paint for the project. James was very thorough with the written estimate and answered all of our questions which was appreciated. Two painters, Dave and John spent four days on the job. The first day and a half was prep work and the remaining days painting. We were impressed with their attention to detail and pleasant personalities. It was obvious that they both took pride in their work. Everything was done to our satisfaction and clean-up was done daily. In summary, a very good company to do business with and highly recommended.

Such is the integrity of Mike Chism and his key staff that (not for the first time) we left them a key and asked them to do the work while we were on vacation. We returned to find the work completed exactly as we had hoped. I have no hesitation in recommending Chism Brothers as a trustworthy, high quality and professional painting services vendor.

I thought they did an excellent job. It was a little pricey but very high quality. I would give the staff high marks. There were some things we noticed before we left and they took care of them. We didn't have any issues, they were very professional.

Everything about our dealings with Chism Brothers was excellent, from our first call to them, through the estimate (which was honored), and through performance and completion of the work. We liked that the workers are company employees, not temporary sub-contractors. Carolyn at the office is so nice, is organized, follows through in a timely way and communicates very well. David was our painter, and the results of his work are excellent. He, too, is a nice person who I was completely comfortable having around (including interior access for our courtyard), and he was easy to communicate with. While he was efficient and worked steadily, he gave me the reassuring impression that the company expected him to be here for the time he found necessary to complete a thorough, top quality job.

The exterior finish on our front door had become quite worn. James came out from Chism Brothers to provide an estimate. He was quite detail oriented in his examination of the door and we discussed some of the options in how to approach the job. Once we accepted the proposal, they were able to schedule the project pretty quickly. Raul came out and did an outstanding job. He was prompt, very neat, and was focused on the quality of his work. Both Raul and James were also very nice guys. In general Chism is a very professional organization and they produce great results. I will continue to use them in the future.

Prompt reply for estimate. Suitable date was set for the job. Painter was puntual. Matched paint. Worked steadily and finished the job on time. Cleaned up each day.

As a first time home owner I was a bit anxious about having strangers work on my home. I felt confident Chism Brothers was a good choice from the beginning when I did a walk through to get an estimate. Once the crew showed up to start work I knew I had made the right decision. Marty the project manager was very atttentive to all my concerns as were the rest of the crew. As the work progressed we found the need to replace some damaged wood and drywall on the stairs and I was very happy that they were able to perform that work. All work was carried out in a professional manner and was completed on schedule. Trim was neat with sharp straight lines, no paint splatters, and they did a good cleanup at the end. I am very happy with the finished product. All the little extras they did were also appreciated. For example while Marty was doing work on the high ceiling he offered to replace light bulbs in the ceiling light fixture. And last but not least I would like to mention the excellent assistance I received from their office manager Carolyn. Chism Brothers Painting exceeded my very high expectations.

They are a local company and our overall experience was excellent. They squeezed us in on a short schedule, we got the work done way sooner than we had hoped, they did a great job, and they did some additional work. We were very happy with their work. We used them before on an exterior paint job and this one turned out just as well.

The painter arrived on time, fully prepared, did a good job, and left the house neat and clean just how he found it. Job well done!

Chism performed excellent, high-quality, professional work. Their quality and professionalism exceeded my expectations. Problem was that Chism quoted a rate for a "painter for a day" but turned-out that I had two-days worth of work to be done in my house, not one. Because of this I paid twice what I expected to pay for the work.

Excellent! We were doing lots of remodeling, but this is the best experience we ever had! They did WONDERFUL job and finished everything IN TIME! This is HIGH QUALITY work! These guys are real professionals. They take their job seriously. They spend time with a customer to make sure all the details are clear and to really understand what client wants. They also give you excellent advices based on their experience and knowledge. They are always available for all the questions you might have. The amount of money they charge might look high at first glance, but trust me, it is worth of every cent! After all experience we had with different contractors, I am confident to tell that! I would highly recommend these guys to everybody who can afford it! If you want your drywall/painting to go smooth, without any stress, if you want to be really happy with the results, if you want people you can really trust and enjoy working with, that's Chism Brothers!

They were very courteous and professional. I don't know how they were on the job, but the bidding process was very good. They brought a half pound of ground coffee as a gift.

Chism Bros. is a very professional firm and they are very pleasant to work with. They did what they said, on time and provided a friendly, professional staff.

The only gripes we had were that it took a little longer than we wanted and we ended up paying $1000 over the quote. It was, however, very good work and they were very professional. I actually gave them a key, as we weren't living there at the time, and they were very careful of the home. The buyer really raved about the paint job that we got.

They provided good value and the work was excellent. I had seen their work in the neighborhood, and chose them because of the references that I received. I would rate them highly and would use them in the future, if necessary.

Called Chism brothers and Mike was out several days later to look at the job. The Bid was appropriately detailed and turned out to be the best of three solicited. The work was scheduled and within about 5 days completed. I had a slight issue when the finish in the outdoor room did not turn out as I expected. Mr. Chism came out inspected the job. Although the coating was appropriately applied. he agreed that a little additional paint would improve the overall look. Several days later, his crew returned. It really looks great now. Chism brothers was very responsive and provided great communication. I would wholeheartedly recommend them.

Chism Brothers painting did an outstanding, exception job, and were professionals all the way. As a military family, we had renters in our previous home in San Diego, and were changing renters. Since we had been out of the country, we were unaware of the extent of work that would need to be done. Originally planning to do just the main living areas, we had to expand the scope of work significantly, to include the entire house. CBP did an amazing job painting, an outstanding foreman that worked with us all the way, with a fully professional crew of real painters, and even tried to help us keep the cost down. Moreover, we discovered some other issues that needed to be repaired (laminate flooring and drywall in one room), and the foreman was able to put us in contact with two other professionals who completed the job in rapid time and completely professionally. I can't say enough good about how professional a job they did and how well they worked with us in a changing situation!

We were impressed with the tremendous professionalism and courtesy of everyone in this company with whom we delt. We had to delay start of painting on 3 occasions while we had windows put in, but Chism Bros. worked with us every step of the way. When we were finally ready to have them start, the painter, Raul, arrived on time, was friendly, courteous and very careful to keep the area clean and neat. The finished paint job was very well done. We are very pleased and will use Chism Bros. For our future painting needs, and have already recommended them to friends.
