They arrived on time to the appointment and did a good job!

They only charged me for the service call after they found that my air conditioning was working again. I was happy.

The scheduling process was very easy. I received a call the day before to confirm the appointment. The technician arrived on time and went right to work. He told me the furnace, even though very old, is in very good condition. He said basically the same about the a/c unit. The big problem he found is that my duct work is in very poor condition and he took photos in the attic to show me how bad. This makes complete sense- we have had a big increase in energy use and cost over the last couple of years and the house never seemed to heat or cool effeciently. I received an estimate for the duct work and plan to have it replaced in the next few weeks, by Carini.

The service turned out well. They did the job as expected. They met my expectations.

The technician diagnosed the problem as likely a bad connection in the wire between the thermostat and the furnace. As there might be difficulties with fishing wires through old walls, he made a plan to return on another day, bringing both his usual equipment plus a wireless thermostat in case that was necessary. There seemed to be some delay in making the return visit. So, I called the office, and he came back out the day I called. The problem turned out to be in a very accessible section of wire that was exposed in a closet. The technician repaired the problem. It's important to note that someone from another company had a much higher estimate, indicating that there was something broken in the furnace itself. Carini saved us a substantial sum, and consequently I very strongly recommend them!

If you want professionalism, quality work and like dealing directly with the owner, this will be your kind of company. The owner, Gabriel Carini, is very knowledgeable and was willing to work with our situation of placing the heater unit under the house where the old unit had been. All the installation technicians were very polite and helpful in answering questions and explaining things, and working under any home is not the most desirable job in town. Carini specializes in retrofitting air conditioning and heating systems in older homes, which caught my attention and was a factor in selecting them. As expected when doing anything on an older home (55 years old), you might run into some snags but they dealt well with them, to my satisfaction. I found them attentive and very pleasant when I called the office and I liked the fact that I could communicate with them through email. It expedites matters. It was also important to me that they had a good website where I could have additional resources on their company and their products. I am pleased with the products that were installed to make up the heating and air conditioning system. I think the feel inside the house, whether the heat is on or the air conditioning is very pleasant, in fact, better than the original system ever felt. Additional work is planned for the house to help the final results such as new insulation in the attic, new double-pane windows and a glass slider, in an effort to tighten the house to complement the Honeywell Whole-House Air Cleaner installed which I feel is important to have for maximum results. The only downside of the whole install is the PVC vent that goes through the sidewall. At times it is really loud. It may have to be moved. I

Since I never have my furnace and air-conditioning units serviced in 15 yearas, I figured that I should have them checked. Another company call me with a $89 18-point check offer. I checked with Angie's list and found that Carini offer a 22-point check which seems to me a better deal. Carini's technician was knowledgeable and courteous, he found that the furnance's surface was too hot and suggested to have two parts replaced. He ordered the parts and came back a couple of days laster to replace the parts. My furnance is running fine ever since.

These guys are great! We had SDG&E perform a safety check on our new house. They said our heater was unsafe due to a lack of "fireblocking" and red tagged it telling us we couldn't use it. THAT was swesome news on a cold and wet Friday afternoon! We were puzzled, and upset since we had just had the house inspected as part of the purchase process and no one had ever indicated there was a problem. I called Carini, talked to Dan who then talked to one of his techs. Dan called me back and said SDG&E's news was puzzling to them also because the issue wasn't something typically redtagged, and they weren't even sure what SDG&E was talking about, but he would send someone out.to check it out. The tech came exactly when he said he would on the following Monday, even called me ahead of time so I could meet him on my lunch hour, and was very professional. He checked the system out, said we were fine, and went on his way. It was well worth the service fee of $85. to get some piece of mind. I really appreciate that he didn't try to sell me on a "fix" I didn't need.

The worker who came out was very polite and courteous. He found a crack in our heater. He said it was not a safety thing. He advised us to get it checked each year. Instead of pressuring me into buying something I didn't need, he just advised me to keep an eye on the crack. This was an excellent experience. It was a pleasure working with him. I have been thinking about using them soon!

We purchased the Angie's Deal for $85 for 22-Point Furnace and A/C Tune-Up. Scheduling our appointment was extremely easy and the service was performed promptly and efficiently. The technician even suggested a device to help prevent water damage in case of future failures. (I do not remember what the device was called.) Overall a good experience and we have since used Carini to help install a Nest thermometer as well.

I chose Carini Heating and Air for two reasons. I was impressed with the professionalism and helpfulness of Gabriel Carini. The second reason is that his company installs systems into the houses in historic neighborhoods . I figured that the company must be good to be capable of dealing with the challenges that arise when updating systems in very old houses. It was my first time purchasing a furnace so I had questions. When Gabriel arrived to offer a bid , he answered all my questions and concerns in a way that was easy to understand. I was concerned about furnace noise in the kitchen /dinning room area. He suggested replacing the existing air return grill with a different style and that has worked. He was knowledgeable , friendly and gave a comprehensive description of the furnace choices and installation procedure. He sent an email promptly containing a detailed list of the three furnaces from which I was choosing including price and scope of work. The two installers arrived on time , were professional and pleasant. I appreciated their intentionality and care when working inside the house to install the thermostat control on the wall. Gabriel came by immediately after to check their work and to give me the paperwork and number to call to make an appointment for the permit inspection. The process was easy from start to completion and the furnace has met my expectation. I recommend Carini Heating.

This turned into a 2 day job requiring removal of much debris and working in a difficult area of the home to access and under wet conditions due to an earlier water pipe leak.

Gabriel Carini came out to give us an estimate for replacing the compressor or the condenser and coil. However, he seemed convinced that the problem might lie elsewhere and was reluctant to have us spend thousands of dollars on a new AC unit when the problem might warrant a much less expensive fix. He suggested that we have one of his technicians come out to do a service call. In the meantime, he provided us the estimate, and even went as far as to call the manufacturer of the compressor to see if it was still under warranty. We really appreciated that he took that extra step, even though we ultimately learned that the part was no longer under warranty. We took his suggestion and had one of his techs come out. He, too, seemed convinced that the problem might be something simpler, like a problem with the circuit breaker, but after replacing the breaker to no effect, he reluctantly concluded that we'd have to replace the compressor or the AC unit. The prices Carini had quoted were on par with estimates we'd received from other companies, and Gabriel responded promptly to all of the questions I emailed him about the estimate. Although we decided to put off replacing the AC unit, we'd will likely use them in the future.

We're renting a house built in 1950, and had requested that all of major systems be inspected and serviced prior to our moving in. Well, that didn't happen, so we wanted to be sure the AC worked properly before we used it for the first time. The technician was very courteous, prompt, and professional. He did a thorough inspection, and provided a checklist of items he looked at, and went through it item by item with me. He found a significant issue, and documented it - which we were then able to to forward to the property manager. I was very impressed with the service, and highly recommended that the property management company use Carini to do the repair. Unfortunately, they did not - but if it had been our choice we would have!

We called and they scheduled it within a couple of days. They were professional. The guy came, they cleaned up after themselves, there was nothing negative about it. They did a good job.

As previously mentioned, well done - we'd hire these guys in a flash. Very professional to set up appointment, explained the details of the work preformed, etc. We were pleased.

We were very happy with their services. They were on time and very efficient in asking questions and checking out both of the units. I bought their service as an Angies List deal and I cannot remember how much I paid for it but it was reasonable.
