Your review for Brinks Services is now live! Tom L. Tom L. My wife and I recently sought Brinks Services in an effort to locate and fix a gas leak. Our initial experience was quite good and we were ready to sign up for the repair work. However, that is when things went wrong. The contract that Brinks initially sent to me was illegible as to the fine print of the contract. I then requested a larger version to hopefully allow me to read the fine print and this was provided to me promptly. Unfortunately, that is where I found that the language of the contract called for us to agree to defend and indemnify Brinks &/or it's subcontractors from "any and all damages, personal injury and/or property claims that arise as a result of Brinks...and/or its subcontractors performing any service pursuant to any contract between Brinks ... and myself". This makes the homeowner liable to defend Brinks and it's subcontractors from any and all claims. When I attempted to speak to my representative about my concerns that Brinks would not stand behind its work, he initially indicated that he could not make any change to the contract, but indicated that I could speak to the owner. However, the owner never called and refused to discuss the matter with me. In most cases, this would not be a problem. However, if there was any accident in which Brinks was sued for the work that they performed at your house, then you are risking having to incur legal fees and possibly damages to defend Brinks in that claim or lawsuit. This was too big a a potential liability for me and Brinks made it clear that they were unwilling to discuss their business practice. If you choose to select Brinks to do work for you, I would recommend that you look very carefully at any paperwork submitted to you by Brinks to make sure that it is not only legible, but also does not contain this unlimited indemnity agreement. I cannot imagine any attorney agreeing to allow you to sign such a contract. I also doubt that your property insurance carrier would agree to this language as well. Buyer beware! Add to list Edit

Provider recommended a bunch of processes due to the age of my house, not due to any particular observation. I asked for a quote and never got one.

I called after we realized we had a warm leak coming from the manifold(dont ask how I know what this word is). They quickly found the leak, but after further review, we realized there was an additional leak undetected. I called Brinks and they came out right away and found the second leak. The technician, Phillip, was so kind and made sure we had no extra leaks on the property. Phillip was open to conversation on how we could fix the problem, giving us many options. Although, we have a plumber, it was nice to be educated about the process. We would definitely recommend Brinks, especially Phillip as he was extremely professional. I work in the area as a personal assistant and am constantly asked who is the best plumber, leak detector, pool guy, etc... I will certainly pass on Brink Group for all our leak detections. If you get Peggy, the dispatcher, on the phone, she is equally professional. Thanks Brinks for your help!! We can now rest and fix this darn leak!!!

It went okay. The company sent 1 plumber who was at the home for a couple of hours.

They never did anything...read between the lines

It worked out really well. It was a big deal purchase. The cost was just the Angie’s List deal.

They were fine. I got them in for a check and they fixed everything within two hours. They were very informative and did a great job. It was a bang-up bargain but I told them I would use him again. It did not cost more than the big deal amount. They were definitely on time. They were open to providing more information and they actually explained things well. The price was very reasonable. I asked for his prices for future service and they were right in line. It wasn’t a complicated thing but they did have to go get a part and make it work for me and they did great.

They came out and looked at the stuff we needed done, but weren't able to really do anything because they told us they would have to charge us if they touched anything. They did flush out the water heater. I would have expected more out of this deal. I overheard their conversation about how I didn't need to have the water heater flushed since it was newer. I would have expected them to let me know that, and would have been fine if they told me they were going to do it anyway since I paid for it.

Very helpful, explained everything and fixed what he could, toilet still working well in April and he instructed me on what to do if the calcium deposits build up again

A year later, the drain is still clean. We haven’t had any problems since. There were no additional fees with the Big Deal. I would highly recommend this company.

We called Brinks because our Homeowner's Association recommended them. They promised to call us in the morning and send someone out to look at our problem although they could not do the work that day. We were okay with that because we can go a few days without hot water and the leak is stopped as long as the hot water is turned off. This morning I waited for their call. Nothing. I waited until 1pm and still nothing. So I called them. I spoke to the receptionist first who connected me with the dispatcher named Peggy. Peggy told me that they did not have anyone to come out until the week after next!! This was not what we were told when we called last night. We were told they would look at it and they couldn't do the work today, but nothing was mentioned about a week and a half backlog of work. So we wasted a whole day waiting for Brinks -- and as far as I can tell, Brinks had no intention of calling us to tell us they would not be showing up today at all. This is unacceptable. My insurance agent arranged for people to come out last night but I cancelled believing that Brinks could do all the aspects of this repair as their website claims. Their website is totally misleading. It looks like it is a large company but it can't be that large. They had one leak detector that recently passed away (or so I am told). How many plumbers? I don't know but a week and a half back log for plumbing is serious. The lack of a leak detector should not have been a problem in my case since I have already hired a leak detector and have a report from him. We told Brinks this. That was not the problem. They don't have any plumbers available. My insurance agent was upset. Her companies were confused that we cancelled last night and now want them to come out. We believed Brinks was going to help us. They did not. Very upsetting.

The actual problem was with the solar heater which we removed and now all is fine.

My experience went very well. The staff was very professional and friendly while visiting. I was pleased with the outcome of the service and would recommend this company to others.

I purchased a $99 for 2 hours plumbing coupon. The plumber arrived early, which is fine, completed work in a timely manner. No problems since.

had trouble with a floor drain with what looked like it was backed up, explained that the drain was working but the angle was not sufficient to fully remove all the water in the floor drain

First of all, my coupon expired & I was afraid they wouldn't let me use it, but I'm so grateful they did! It's been a while since the service & have forgotten all their names, but their service remains outstanding in my memory! The technician arrived on time & was friendly to my dog so it all started well & just got better from there. He explained every step of what he was going to do & why as I do hang around & watch & ask questions. He did not mind at all, as some obviously do & unclogged the toilet we'd been having so much trouble with. He recommended the preferred type of non-clogging toilet to get amongst plumbers & what kind of auger to get. We went out & bought the auger & it worked so well it's already paid for itself in the first (& only) use! Also, since we had one toilet already removed & he was there less than 20 mins, he gave me a complimentary video inspection of my sewer line! He was friendly, courteous, clean & definitely sensitive & responsive to my many questions..& I ask alot of them..especially since we'd been having sooo many plumbing probs! We haven't had any since & I have TOTAL peace of mind knowing what my pipes look like! I would definitely use them again & highly recommend their services!

WOW. Have you ever tried to contact a plumber on a sunday? About 10am we discovered water in our closet. A leak in the ceiling. It was a mess, clothes alll wet, Floor all wet. We tried to turn water off but couldn't. Went to computer and got list of Angies Llist plumbers. Then called son to come help turn off water Meanwhile we called company with the biggest ad. Told them. Of our emergency. We needed help fast . waited 45 minutes and Called back.Told them if They didn't call. back in 5 minutes we would call someone elsse. we then called Brinks and spoke to a nice helpful person called Peggy. She assured us that a wonderful plumber named Jose would be over as soon as he finished job he was on. He did ome and fixed our leak.

They arrived on time for the appointment. They did everything as stated within the deal and did a great job. There were no issues.

Brinks replaced our old 20 gal water heater with a Bradford 40 gal, energy saver. Water heater works great. Installation went well. Same day service. They hauled away my old one. Did I say the water heater works great? We love it! I have used Brinks for a long time - about 10 years now. They have installed a new garbage disposal for me, flushed pipes, re-routed gas lines for my gas clothes dryer, and fixed backed up toilets. Through all they have been professional, on time (of if they are delayed -like plumbers sometimes are, lol - they always call), and they always do high quality work. I do not hesitate to call them for any plumbing problem because I know they can do the job and do it well. I cannot report on their electrical or flooring business for I have not used them. I already had an electrician I am very happy with. I down-graded them on price because I feel they are definitely on the high end of things - but then you get what you pay for. If you want plumbers who know their business and do great work - these are your guys.

Overall it was pretty good. It was just a basic check-up and he did his job. The price was pretty good.

We did not have them provide service

It went well and at the end he gave a assessment of my condos plumbing. He didn't try to sell me any services or pressure any expensive maintenance. Instead he gave advice on proper maintenance and care. I really appreciated they he wasn't there to sell me anything, and to instead complete the evaluation per the purchase. I would highly recommend Brinks Services.

I was a little confused when I signed up for the service. I thought it covered drainage in the yard where I have a root issue. The work was done when I wasn't at home (my wife was) so I couldn't stop the inspection. Ultimately, we didn't have a problem with our sewer, which I already knew. The contractor however was courteous and professional.

The technician was promptly scheduled and arrived on time. He was pleasant and courteous. He arrived with a piece of paper AngiesList Big Deal Checklist but didnt use it - instead he made notes all over the back of it. This was clearly an inspection with the intention of getting additional work by the company and there are a lot of "should be replaced" on his "report." The reason for my call and purchase was for the hot water heater. We were not receiving sufficient hot water for the duration of a shower - much less two- from a seven year old 33 gallon self cleaning water heater, which has a six year warranty. The technician advised replacement of the water heater and said the pressure regulator needed to be replaced. He did not give me an estimate for the work advised on his "checklist." I did not hire this company for the work as I felt they were overselling. I called a different company on AngiesList for a second opinion. Their answer to the lack of water in the master shower to replace a cartridge in the master shower faucet and to install a new pressure regulator - no new hot water heater needed. It is now 2 1/2 years later and everything is still working fine with the same hot water heater, the new cartridge and none of the other "should be replaced" items suggested by the Brinks technician.

He came and checked on the water heater. He was very nice and told us what we needed to do.
