For the most part well, they did a good job fixing the problem, there was one issue where they were called out on a weekend and the tech who came out was not responsive to our property manager's requests. We consider them our main plumber for our property.

Ok, for the good: The plumbers showed up on time, both for the work and for the estimate appointment. They were more available than other local plumbers from Angie's List, and their bid was reasonable so we decided to go with them. The work was completed on budget, on time, and the area was left clean and tidy. When they left we were entirely pleased. The bad: A little background first on why I feel like I feel. We are consumers, not plumbing experts. We expected the plumbers to bring attention to issues with their installation that might effect how the finished product turns out. Its their responsibility to communicate with homeowners. Because they totally failed to tell us that the way the way were installing the shower valve meant that our new beautiful shower that cost us like $3000 now looks like CRAP. I am angry, obviously. Apparently Moen (the brand they specifically told us to buy! And we ordered online, so its not a crappy part from a big box) intentionally makes their valve idiot proof by telling you to install the valve at such a shallow depth that there's no chance your handle will be too short and render the valve inoperable. However, this shallow installation depth means that there is NO CHANCE that the handle will sit flush with cover plate and NO CHANCE that the handle and plate will look like 100% of the pictures that Moen uses in their advertising. Instead the handle sticks out way far into the shower and ruins the look of our expensive shower. Unless you know to google the problem in advance there's no way a consumer would know to warn the plumbers to not try to leave them with this inferior installation. It gets worse though, because it gets even more complicated and expensive!! So the depth that they installed it at was just slightly too deep to use the normal valve and look perfect. I guess technically this means they did something not quite right, but that doesn't really leave us a leg to stand on since they'll just want to come by and fix it in the way I'm about to describe. We spent another like $60 to buy a "valve extension kit" that Moen sells to solve this problem. Only the extension kit only comes in a long length. In order for our shower to be operable we have to use the kit and have the handle stick out almost a full inch farther than intended by Moen, leaving almost a full inch of lousy valve housing exposed. Moen on their website says that this is still an "acceptable" installation since the shower works and the valve housing isn't exposed by more than 1.5 inches. So we have no recourse. All I can do is warn other Angie's List members to know to tell their plumbers to not leave them in this terrible situation. Bottom Line: they started with a blank slate. The shower was completely demoed and they had full access to all the pipes and studs. They installed something in a way (without consulting or warning us) that has led to our new shower looking like a lousy DIY, which it was not. Use Bill Howe, but watch them like a hawk, and don't assume they will help a homeowner out and communicate well.

Called Bill Howe after having some trouble with clogged toilets and sewage backing up into the shower. We needed a main line clean out, and the first plumber that came out refused to use the roof vent, saying he could only do the clean out if we first installed a $550 ground level clean out. FIlled out the online contact info, and Bill Howe called within the hour to set up an appointment window. They showed up 10 minutes EARLY, which was amazing after waiting 4 hours at home for the first plumber to show up 5 minutes before the window ended. Kyle was professional and efficient, climbed all over my roof for about an hour and got the plumbing back in working order. The cost was less than half of what was quoted by the first plumber before he would even fix our actual problem. I was quite impressed and would definitely call them again with future issues. I also appreciated the 30-day warranty that they would return for free if we had problems within that time period.

On time no nonsense estimate that was fair and accurate and the work was performed the same way

We decided at this point to avoid a handyman and to call in a true professional plumbing service. Upon phoning Bill Howe Plumbing I was impressed from the start with their uniformly GREAT customer service attitude. A technician was scheduled to be onsite the next day. The technician evaluated plumbing installed by the handyman and actually complimented the overall quality of work. The technician consulted via cell phone with his supervisor and evaluated possible plumbing scenarios which may be causing water to only maintain hot temperatures for a few minutes. The problem wasn't the new water heater - something was wrong in piping to the house. They concluded that the handyman had installed an insufficient flow valve which was allowing cool water to backflow incorrectly into the piping. The technician replaced the valve and asked us to evaluate hot water over the next 24 hours. Hot water was now operating fine for long showers! Bill Howe's technician phoned us the next day to check if everything was operating correctly. Truly a top notch organization!

The digging, sewer pipe and supply line repairs went off on schedule and was completed in one long day. The hole was re-filled and, of course, there was about three wheelbarrows full of excess dirt and rocks left over that they could not fit back int the hole. My only complaint is that they used a mechanical tamp to try to compact the dirt all the way to the top. I had to spend two days with my pick digging off the top 6" of the compacted dirt so I could replace the top soil before I could replace my landscaping elements. My sewer flows now better than it ever has, so it was a successful job overall.

They showed up earlier than expected (but called first to make sure it was OK) Within a very short time they diagnosed the problem and fixed it. They were nice and yet still incredibly professional. Steve clearly knew his stuff (Shawn was a trainee and very helpful). They were neat and efficient. THEY LIKE DOGS and my dogs liked them. I fear plumbing problems more than the zombie apocalypse :-) but I actually enjoyed this experience. I had also asked them to snake a slow kitchen drain. After a bit Steve let me know that there was so much sludge in the line that the snake wasn't working. He suggested I have the line water pressure cleaned. He helped me make arrangements for that (they're sending someone today) and didn't charge me for the time he spent trying to clean my drain. The best experience I have had with plumbing repair ever. Not only will I call this company the next time I have a problem, but I'm going to ask for Steve by name.

I called and was given a time window when the plumber was supposed to show up. In fact he showed up much sooner than that, and apologized(!) asking if it was ok. Of course it was ok!!! The guy was very professional, got right down to business, and took care of the problem very quickly. He actually had to run the snake through twice, but he made sure the drain was working perfectly before he left.

Had a toilet back up Bill How sent out Leonardo Travers who was so professional. Found I had roots wrapped in the Flange and roots were removed. Never thought I would write about a plumber however, Leo went above and beyond. I have his card and will always call Leo for my plumbing problems. The work was done fast and the clean up was amazing. The over all experience was fair. The technican arrived on time and the work was completed in a resonable amount of time. My only issue was when the techenican inspected the leak, he just gave me a verbal estimate, not a written one. In hind-sight, I should have asked for the written estimate up front, the final cost was about $75.00 dollars more thant the verbal estimate I was given. I guess the leason here is to ask for a written estimate before work begins. The quaily of the work was good.

I called Howe Plumbing because of a backed up kitchen drain. After examining under the kitchen sink, the plumber immediately started recommending extra work besides cleaning out the clogged drain pipe. These additional projects would have doubled or tripled the estimated cost. If this work was not included, he informed me that none of the work would be "guaranteed". After reaming out the clogged drain, the sink was unplugged and working fine. Two weeks later, the sink was again backed up. The same plumber came with the same speil, about the plumbing needing additional work, but after snaking the drain again was draining well. Be prepared, when dealing with this company, to expect pressure to additional projects that may or may not be needed.

In addition to being on time, I was extremely pleased and impressed with Pattric's excellent customer service and critical thinking. couldn't have asked for more! I will recommend Bill Howe's to others for sure.

I liked that they were local. I liked that they came fast and did the job for the minimal. I feel like they were very very fair in their assessment and work on the problem.

Previously stated. Slight delay where the tech had to go back to office to retrieve valves. Overall excellent.

I was concerned about a water pipe leaking where the pipe went into the patio concrete. Matt explained the several ways that this problem could be repaired. After choosing the one that made most sense to me, Matt and his associate proceeded to dig up a section of the concrete to give them access to the pipe. They found out that there was no major water damage under the patio slab as I had expected there was and I was glad. It appeared that the leak may have been caused by the patio slab moving very slightly over the past many years and rubbing on the pipe and creating a leak. So Matt suggested he replace that 8ft section of pipe with a copper pipe and also enclose it in a matching section of PVC so that the concrete in the future would rub on the PVC and not the copper that might cause another leak.

We’ve worked with them a couple of times. They’ve been great to work with; they’ve been very responsive with any concerns, have been honest and thorough, and have done an excellent job overall. They’ve even come out to just give us advice and suggestions, and follow up, too. They've never pressured us into buying anything at all.

We called Bill Howe because we had a mysterious leak behind our washing machine. They sent a tech out promptly and he spent almost two hours searching for the leak. Finally, unable to find it, he said he would another company that had more sensitive detection equipment than he had and that they would cover the expense of having that company detect the leak and there would be no extra charge to us. He also said we would not be charged until the leak was found. We were very impressed with this company's integrity and would definitely call them again.

Stephen W. was the actual representative that came out. He was very good. They are not cheap but I would give than A for the work they did.

Both our toilets were clogged as well as water coming up in the shower and tub. We had tried to use a snake to no avail. Finally, we called them at 10 pm. They came out right away and had the drains open within 15 minutes. Good Service.

John was amazing! He installed our new water heater, answered all our questions and taught us how to light the pilot light. Thanks John for your patience and professionalism!

Martin & Gustavo both were on time, very professional & very competent. I'm very pleased with their work.

The repair was done at my rental property. They were prompt, clean, and very professional. They unclogged drains, removed a broken disposal, and a toilet issue. They charged a reasonable fee, and when one of the pipes leaks a bit later that night, they came back and fixed it for free. Once the work was finished, they mailed me the receipt right away.

I called them 2 days before they perform the service, I spoke to Melissa who was very pleasant and helpful and she schedule me for the next day but I had to reschedule last minute; yet she was able to accommodate. The plumber they sent over is Gilbert, very nice guy, cautious knowledgeable and clean. He was really respectful of the surrounding, some plumbers can be messy, he was not and he was very helpful, and gave me some advice. I am very happy with the work he did and I will call them for my future plumbing need.

My wife called a few A/C companies to receive some estimates to install a dual-zone Fujitsu A/C system and Bruce (Bill Howe sales) gave my wife a competitive quote. We went ahead with giving the work to Bill Howe and scheduled an appointment for installation. Miguel arrived and was very professional and prompt. He installed our unit and showed us how to use the system. Bruce and Miguel are a true asset to Bill Howe and they provided a great service from start to finish. Thanks!
