Description of Work: Job: repair of window with dry rot. At first visit, company rep evaluated the problem and scheduled the work to be done. The appointment had to be changed a couple of times, but we were always informed ahead of time. The work itself went smoothly and to our satisfaction.

Description of Work: I bought this on 11/21/13 They took 2 months to get out on 1/25/14 to write an estimate and took another month 3/8/14 to get the estimate. This company is located in San Diego and could be that my location is far for them to perform services timely. I asked for a refund and have not receive it yet. Please look into my refund so it can be refunded timely.

Description of Work: I purchased a $149 Big Deal for Four Hours of Wood-Rot Restoration or Repair. I wanted them to resurface a balcony. Someone calling themselves the vice president came out to give an estimate. They gave me an estimate and then took off the $139 off that price. I paid around $2,00 in total. I asked for a detailed invoice and they said they do not do that. Overall, it was far too expensive and poor quality. I am very unhappy.

Description of Work: They replace all the eaves that were rotted or had termites. The work was done well and they were on time and prompt.

Description of Work: They repaired dry rot at back door framing and garage pedestrian door framing as well as replaced damaged siding on back of house. They also replaced rotted fence posts and moved a large section of fence. They also rebuilt one gate and rehung another gate.

Description of Work: Replaced rotted post supporting patio cover. Installed waterproof spacer to prevent further absorbtion of water. Richard Penyak did it without any assistant. Total time was 6.5 hours. Cost included $215 for wood, paint, and brackets. Looks great.

Description of Work: Removed drywood and partial flat roofing on patio; installed and painted new wood and roofing; and reinforced 2nd story rain gutters. the worker was on time and was very professional and easy to talk to. He understood what needed to be done, explained what he would do to repair the items, and finished within the estimated time. I was very happy with his work. | |

Description of Work: I was planning on repairing dry rot on my patio cover but Michael Spencer of Best Rate advised that the dry rot was too extensive and advised on a new patio cover.

Description of Work: They came and looked at the project and told us another person would come and do the work. We were told we would be charged extra for the materials. The worker showed up early and went to Home Depot to buy the materials for $50.00 which seemed to be a fair price to us. He then completed the work and we thought we were happy with the project. He pointed out that we needed to have our roofer out to look at the patio roof as it had issues that we did not know about. We were grateful to know about this. We then had the patio roof redone. After that my husband decided to paint the patio ceiling. He was doing prep work that involved scraping off paint and found that an area where the Best Rate worker was suppose to have installed new wood to replace dry rot and then paint the new wood, he just filled the dry rot with putty and painted over it. We have since called Best Rate and they have sent their first man over to look at it (1 1/2 weeks ago) and he said the worker would call us to fix it. It has not happened yet. So now we will have to bug them to get them to complete the job they should have done correctly in the beginning.

Description of Work: Don came and did an evaluation in early January 2014. Water had fallen down by a bay window and the wood underneath was rotting. Don came on a Friday and said he would give me an estimate for the repairs by Tuesday. He never got back to me with an estimate. He seemed liked a nice man, but I was disappointed that he never got back to me because I waited for him and I still need the work done.

Description of Work: They get A for effort! I'd made an appointment for someone to come out to give me an estimate on repair work for my home, but then had to cancel. Evidently, the rep never got the message & when he showed up, he was courteous and professional. I will call them again when needed.

Description of Work: Repair wood rot

Description of Work: Arranged for estimate (about 4 working days). Estimator called & showed up on time (Wed 6/19) and said he should have estimate by Fri (6/21). Today is Tues 6/25 & have not heard from them. At this point I don't want to do business with them. This is not the kind of service that I expect.

Description of Work: The house has a bit of water damage to a corner of a french wood window and there is some rot in the corner. They gave me a bid to cut out the affected areas and replace them. The area affected is approx 8" x 8" and the bid was $600+. I thought that it was way too high.
