It didn't. George called me twice to reschedule. I told him that it was okay. I understood that he was busy. When I did not hear back from him, I called again. He apologized again and said that his brother would come the next morning. Well, never happened. So, as far as I am concerned, I would NEVER hire this company nor would I refer them to anyone! Very poor customer service.

Excellent. Jeremy and crew are professionals. Fence looks great and is very well built/installed. They went the extra mile with this fence. Communication was excellent and everyone was thorough, responsible, and affable.

It went quite good. The fence looks great. We are very pleased.

Bear Fence just completed a very challenging wood fence install including two gates at my home in La Mesa and I couldn't be more satisfied. Jeremy came out for the estimate on time, and very knowledgeable. He immediately gave me the piece of mind that I was in good hands with Bear Fence Co. Juan, the project foreman did a phenomenal job. He was super professional, paid amazing attention to detail, and was polite and courteous. He took so much pride in his work, and you could tell his main concern was my level of satisfaction every step of the way. They left the job site cleaner than when they started, and followed through on every promise. I've dealt with a few other fence contractors, and these guys blew the competition out of the water. I'm a big-time perfectionist and couldn't find one thing to even question. I highly recommend Bear Fence to anyone looking for fence or gate work.

This review is just for the first impression and no services were provided to us. I first contacted Bear Fence last month to have someone come out and give us estimate on our fence. We scheduled an appointment for October so a week before my appointment, I called the office to confirm the appointment. I called on Wednesday and the receptionist told me that she will have someone call me back to confirm since she does not schedule his appointment. Friday came, no one called me back so I contacted their office again and the receptionist said "here is his cell phone number just call him yourself" Why? WHY do I need to call him myself? Aren't you suppose to provide service? I guess they don't know what that means.....Monday came....no one call me back so I feel like I've had enough of their non existent service that I called their office and just cancel the entire appointment altogether. DO NOT USE BEAR FENCE....

After at least two weeks waiting for the estimate, it never showed up. Then I sent them an email asking about the estimate. Here is what occurred. ME - 8/6/2015 I had you come to my home to quote a side fence over two weeks ago. I was promised a quote by the end of the week via email. Nothing yet. Don't you want the job? You are wasting my time. Get it to me. A very bad review is pending. BEAR FENCE INC - 8/6/2015 Hi *** I am sorry about this. I thought I sent you the quote but I can't seem to find it nor can I find my notes from your property. If you're still interested, I would like to come by and re-measure your fence. I can be reached at <phone provided> or email <email provided> ME - 8/6/2015 This is not acceptable. I took time off from work to spend time here so I could be here for you during business hours. That time is now lost to me. This is highly disappointing also because my neighbor and others have highly rated you and recommended you. I'm going to have to go find a different option and waste more time finding quotes. BEAR FENCE INC - 8/7/2015 I understand and I am really sorry. If you change your mind and you still need an estimate please let me know. ------------------ At least he was pleasant throughout, even in my frustration. This at least shows a reasonable level of professionalism. Bear Fence did my neighbor's fence years ago, and it is a very nicely done job. It's just I wasted a half a day off work to accommodate his estimating schedule, and he lost the work on my job.

I elected not to us them because of their sloppy customer service. I have seen their fences around the area and they do a nice job installing, but their estimator was to sloppy for my liking, gave me short, curt answers to my questions, and was in a hurry to get in and out of my yard, like he had better places to be.

We used Bear fence to install vinyl replacement fencing around our backyard in 2010. They did a good job and thus had them return to install another gate on the side of the yard with older fencing. They installed solar fence posts which looked good for about a year and then the lights fixtures kept dying. I had Brad from Eco Greenscape hard wire the lights w/ a timer box and the compliments are bountiful from company and neighbors that visit my house. They are a bit pricey compared to what other friends have said from other prices paid to contractors.

I have contracted Bear Fence over 14 years many times for several of my properties in San Diego county, plus I have referred him to at least 10 friends for work. He has done three projects at our current home plus a privacy driveway gate recently. NOW- here is the kicker- This is not our first time contracting Bear Fence- it would have been #6 plus referred business to them and our actual company fence- so for this project, we are adding to our driveway fence. Original estimate given was INCREASED with less wood fence? Written estimate for Paint for 139' wood was $600 both sides-changed to 95' wood fence was $840? REALLY? We added 38' Vinyl to estimate and paint cost on wood INCREASED for less wood fence. HOW? 38' LESS WOOD FENCE COSTS $240 MORE than for entire 139' wood fence... and he does not see the problem? PLUS we were going to PAY more for the entire fence due to adding 38' of VINYL fence, and removing 38' of wood... paint/stain the wood and the price of it went up? The cost for the paint/stain on both sides at most should have been $500 not $840 since for 139' of wood fence it was written as $600 paint/stain. WHAT are they trying to do? No wonder in two weeks they went to a B rating from an A rating. And he is less responsive than he has been in years... the last 14 years I have dealt with Bear Fence with all projects. GUESS we are moving on to someone more attentive and less expensive who HOLDS to the BIDS they give and not rape us. SO DISAPPOINTED and embarrassed because I raved about Bear Fence to my neighbors and the neighbor was NOT impressed with him or his bid at all... not at all. This sucks and was a bad experience and he blamed and quot;the painter.and quot; Well, when you quote me $600 for 139' of wood fence paint/stain both sides, then 101' wood fence should be less, not $240 more. WHAT A BAIT and SWITCH/SWAP. P***** me off... because we have given them so much work and five neighbors fencing as referrals... why screw with a good customer? YOU LOST US.

They were here when they said they would be here. Their clean up was great. They were very mindful of all of our plants when they were working. What was really great is that we were mowing and put a rock through the fence and they came out and replaced it for free. Jeremy Blackburn, the sales rep, did a really great job. Trustworthy and an honest guy.

We used Bear Fence to put up a glass wall on our deck over a year ago. We were having trouble picking out a color for the supports to match the deck and Chris Finlay, the owner, suggested one and had a sample made to show us. It was perfect. We found Chris and his employees very pleasant to work with. There was a little problem with one of the supports recently and Chris himself came out and fixed it for nothing. He really stands behind his work.

The gentleman was very nice. He did not seem particularly enthusiastic -- everyone can have an off day. I had read good things about Bear Fence, but sadly, my entire experience was rather underwhelming. I ended up going with Alpine Fence and it was a great choice.

Very well on the fence part, the trash enclsosures are good products but it did take some time from sign of contract to installation, due to fabricating the material and getting it installed.

Overall, the experience was great! They got the job done very quickly.

We were happy with the work and materials, overall. The job was completed in one day. The price was not cheap, but it was within the ballpark of other bids and was slightly less than some bids. The crew didn't clean up well after the work: someone left a small pile of not-quite-dry paint--remains from a paint container--in a puddle on the ground in our front yard. They also left a few fragments and pieces of debris from the old, wooden fence strewn around. Some concrete blocks that we had previously placed along the edge of the wooden fence were left in disarray in the same area. Apparently, the supervisor didn't check the area before they left! We didn't notice this mess initially, as the discarded materials were tossed under some tree branches, a short distance from the actual fence. However, we noticed it within the next day or so--as did our neighbors, whose property connects with that area of our property! We cleaned up the area immediately rather than phoning for someone from Bear Fence Co. to come out. There were a couple of adjustments needed within a week or two after the project was finished. (1) One gate latch was binding (not opening) and (2) the placement of a row of fencing was not quite symmetrical within its space, leaving a larger open space on one side than on the other. Jeff Behr came out promptly to make the adjustments, and we were satisfied with the and quot;fixes.and quot; Jeff's attitude was gracious and helpful.

We ended up not using them but would request quotes from them in the future - very professional and responsive.

The fence looks good, but the problem is below ground level where the posts are rotting out -- one by one. Shoddy workmanship and/or materials have made Bear Fencing an inferior company to use for fencing. A good company would stand behind its work and work with the property owner for an amiable solution.

Great experience. Huge team came and knocked it out in one day. Fence perfectly level. Posts dug real deep. Gate uses metal pull cord which is nice. These guys have definitely refined their practices over the years and are very professional. I used them many years ago and they did a great job then as well.

They were great. They built a new post to fit the stucco column, and they worked hard to make it fit. It was a difficult job. They knew exactly what I was looking for. They had the best price. I definitely recommend them.

They were outstanding. Jeff Behr came out for the estimate and was patient and thorough. He was very professional and I could tell he had a good background and lots of experience. He gave me several scenarios and he told me the process and what materials would be best to use. We live in a neighborhood with an HOA and Jeff realized we had some of our own paperwork to do so he provided a very detailed estimate with all the info the HOA needed. We were also splitting the cost of the fence with our neighbor so he had to make an extra trip back out to talk to them when they had questions. He had no issues with it and was very nice considering he answered the same questions the first time around. I guess they needed to hear it from the fence guy. Additionally, we had a mud board put in. Our neighbors property is 18and quot; lower than ours and Jeff said the best way to keep the earth from shifting and a good way to protect the fence would be to go with a mud board. It was much, much less expensive than putting in a cement boarder. I chose Bear Fence because they ONLY do fences and their bid came in slightly less than the other 2 bids I received. They made it simple and that's what I was looking for. We had to hire someone else to paint the fence, but Jeff said he could refer if we needed someone good.

I had a very bad experience with them. The experience was difficult with the sales person because I couldn't get him ever to get back to me. I finally worked through the lady who answered the phone in the office. She relayed the messages and he finally responded. As far as the crew was concerned, they were very good and they did a very good job. They cleaned up after themselves. I have no complaints. It is just that the part that I have a problem with is they missed one part of one board. They are supposed to nail in at the top and at the bottom. At the top of one board, they didn't ever nail it. So it is needless to say that the board is now falling down. I am calling the same salesperson that I had trouble with before who I believe is the owner of the company. He is not responding. I called him three times last week and I left message on his voice mail. I left message with the girl who answered the phone. It is just extremely frustrating. I was going to call them again today and tell him that if he doesn't get back to me, I am going to talk to BBB, Angieslist and Contractor's License Board. I am going to talk to everybody I can because I paid them promptly and I did what I was supposed to do. They didn't do what they were supposed to do. I find it inexcusable for him not to respond to me. They crew did everything that they were supposed to do. They arrived on time and they were very professional. They did a great job. His crew was excellent. They missed nailing the top of one board. Sometimes that happens when people are in a hurry. I totally understand and I don't hold that against them. I just want it to be fixed.

Bear Fence installed a picket fence in our front yard a few weeks ago. The owner, Chris Finley, came out to do the estimate. He patiently answered all of our (many) questions. The crew that came to install it showed up 15 minutes early on the installation day and discussed the whole installation with us. Part way through the day (a Friday) they realized there was a problem with a portion of the fence. They were really proactive about discussing it with us and contacting the office to make the arrangements to get it fixed. On Monday, another crew showed up to correct the problem and finish the fence. By Monday afternoon, we had a great looking fence that all the neighbors are complimenting us on. From start to finish, their professionalism, customer service and great work made us feel we made the right choice.

They provided a quotation for replacing 150' of ornamental iron fence. Excellent work and responsiveness. Performed repair work for now. They will be at the top of my list when we replace.

They were very good. We went with them because they offered the best price. They will beat anybody's price. They had excellent product. They had the customer service, which was wonderful. They were on time and they just did a great job. I was very happy with the work they did. I would say they do great job for the great price.
