ASI Plumbing, Heating & Air

We had used ASI in the past few years to provide maintenance on an existing furnace and air conditioner and had purchased an air conditioner from them around a year ago. We were satisfied with that experience. During one of our routine maintenance calls we were told we needed a new furnace. Looking back on that recommendation we are doubtful if this was even true. However, since we trusted ASI from past experience we decided to go ahead and purchase the new furnace. Part of the process involves paying upfront for a city inspection once the work is complete. Weeks went by and we were never contacted by the city inspector. We called ASI to inquire what the problem might be as there is a time frame restriction on the inspection. We were told that they would look into it and call us right back. A week went by and still no call from anyone at ASI. We attempted to call them back and were put on hold for over 10 minutes. At that point we asked to speak to a manager and were put on hold again. We finally just hung up! As of this time, we still have no resolution on the inspection issue.

They're okay, good and professional. They wear complete uniform and all of the tool that needed looks okay. I would use them again in the future.

The entire process, from initial estimate to the actual work, was efficient and very, very professional. The 2-man crew actually arrived early and wasted no time in effecting the required repairs. They worked quickly with little wasted effort, were very personable and polite, and ensured my condo was left very clean. I would definitely recommend ASI Hastings.

ASI does good work, which is why we hired them for our solar installation. We wanted a company that would be around for a long time in case anything went wrong with our solar system. Positives: Good, quality work. ASI was responsive to our questions and concerns before, during, and after the solar installation. Negatives: The only reason I rated ASI a "B" is because they were unable to mount our solar panels 3-inches above the shingles as we originally requested. We wanted the panels close to the roof to improve the aesthetics of the solar system. Unfortunately, we were not told about the increased clearance until after the brackets had been mounted. ASI said they are unable to mount solar panels on Spanish style roofs (at least on the type we have) any lower than what they did. This is due to the type of mounting system they use. The panels are approximately 6-7 inches above the shingles, which is higher than what we expected. If you have a Spanish style roof and are looking at installing solar, I would recommend at least checking out the installation on our home to make sure it looks like what you would expect (address: 10342 Rue Fontenay in Scripps Ranch). There are a few other homes in the neighborhood that had their systems installed closer to the shingles (i.e. more flush because they used different installers using different mounts). It just may help you with your research. The higher mount will apparently help with the panels? efficiency (I hope). I like ASI and would recommend them as long as you are okay with the panels sitting higher than what you see with many other installations. 6-inches does not sound like alot but you will notice the clearance is significantly higher than those on my neighbors' homes.

They did an immediate repair stuff to leak or something minor but it was mainly to confirm a diagnosis but the amount of the work was for a thousand dollars. It was a weekend second opinion emergency technique so they allowed me to have a second opinion but because their bid was so high, they wouldn't go with them. They came out promptly when they said. They looked at the problem but they didn't repair it. It wasn't easy. It wasn't required however it is. It was a very extensive part. They gave me good service and I think they gave me correct details.

The inspector was not friendly or totally professional to my preference. The inspection was fast and I thought not thorough enough but, I'm not an A/C installation expert. I was hoping to get a ballpark price and was given a huge range of pricing. I felt for an A/C business to doing just that they could give me a ballpark. In the end I never received the estimate or heard from them again. I cannot recommend them.

Very professional, performed work as advertised. Very courteous service reps. We will use them for any future A/C and heating issues.

The rep from ASI Hastings was incredibly nice and professional. He did the HVAC calc for the whole house and checked the ducting in the attic. Although the the quote was too high for what I could afford, if I had the money, I definitely would have been thrilled to have them perform the work that needed to be done.

They didn't fix my problem until the second time around. They were prompt and on time though, and courteous.

They were referred to us by friends with high recommendations. I like their attitudes and find them helpful and informative.

The check and clean of the gas furnace was satisfactory. I wanted the filter to be replaced as well. That was not possible because the service rep did not have a replacement filter that would fit our heater. He also noted that the current filter did not fit the duct tightly and that it was not efficient. So, instead he gave us an estimate to remove the heater, raise it higher, and install another filter that would fit the new duct ($750+). We never called him back. It was frustrating as I ended up searching for the filter myself and found one locally but did not get it. In the past, other service reps have replaced that filter in the same visit on the same heater. Granted, it wasn't perfectly aligned to the duct but we realize the importance of replacing the filter yearly. We just did not use the heat this winter. We will not be using this company again.

ASI did a great job. The service technician was very thorough and informative.

Chris was our technician & did an outstanding job on the maintenance project, as well as informed us about other energy saving options we could do via ASI. He took his time, was thorough, & courteous!

Their customer service is excellent. They are professional, arrived on time and completed the work quickly, leaving no mess. They also removed an ugly security box that was next to the thermostat at no extra charge. When we had trouble operating the computerized thermostat, they came out right away and helped us reset it. We have it on the simplest setting because we really don't need all the extra functions, but we like the nice touch screen. Our units were expensive, but we wanted something quiet that wouldn't keep us awake at night going on and off. The Amana air conditioner is amazingly quiet and efficient. It cools the house down quickly and almost noiselessly. The fan is also quiet. We haven't tried the heater except the first day to see that it works because we're having a heat wave. We're totally satisfied with ASI. The only thing we could ask is that they itemize their pricing when they do their sales call. We would use them again and recommend them to others.

It was fine. They were very efficient.

It was a Saturday afternoon n the hose and faucet housing started leaking causing me to turn off the main water pipe . I called and they sent a service person in a fast 1.5 hrs on a Saturday . He replaced the entire housing n hose in 15 mins.

Since this company periodically offers a similar service at no cost, paying $99 was not such a great deal. The final stage of the inspection required covering the fireplace opening with cardboard (or other solid material)and sealing with some sort of tape all around to make the opening air tight. When the tape was removed I was left with areas where the paint was lifted from the hearth and surrounding brickwork. They offered to "fix it" but I just wanted them out of the house. At this point I don't know if I received a written report or not but I am not going to use the second deal for the same service that I bought for my rental as I don't want to problem repeated on that painted fireplace wall.

They are the most responsible and honest company I've ever dealt with. They are lovely people and wonderful to do business with.
