It went well. Joel did the maintenance on the furnace, including changing the filters. He checked the insulation and informed that what was there needed upgrading, which I will have done early 2017. I'm always pleased with the service I receive from ASI. If not, they will hear about it!

The technician (Donovan) arrived on time, was very pleasant, well-prepared with equipment, etc. Took care of the tune up and checked everything out; answered any questions. Everything was done neatly, no mess at all and in a careful, unrushed manner.

I would use them again. Was well handled.

Every step of the process from the initial sales visit, the site survey and plan, the installation, City inspection, and power company requirements were handled by ASI employees. Installation was finished in 3 days by a crew that explained every step of the process each morning and afternoon. Always on time and did a good cleanup at days end. We are extremely glad we selected ASI for our solar installation.

Arrived on time, were professional, kept me informed at all times. Storm and his crew installed the equipement. They were efficient and knowledgeable and did a great job. Carlos and Rodolfo installed the ducts. They were on time, efficient, clean up at the end of each day before they left. It was a pleasure working with them.

15 months ago I found ASI on Angie's list, got an estimate and their cost included more equipment and was about 20% less than another bid. I was totally impressed with their installers and the replace my AC, Furnace, all Duct work & vents. So I didn't hesitate to have them do my Solar and that was also a really positive experience. All of their workmen are very knowledgeable & professional.

ASI installed two new air conditioning systems two years ago so we asked them to meet with us and provide a proposal for a new 16-panel solar system. Tom Justo clearly knows his business and did a great job explaining the system and the process. After doing my research I had a cost in mind that I was willing to pay. ASI's proposal was far below that. The guys were spectacular with the installation and explanation on how to work/monitor the system. The guys were professional, respectful of our property, and did a great job with the installation. ASI was great in communicating what was to be done and when; meeting every time frame. One day we had to leave for the afternoon; asked ASI to ensure the property was locked up when they left. They had cleaned up, organized their equipment and locked up as we asked them to. ASI is very trustworthy; you feel that immediately about meeting them. We were very impressed with the quick turnaround; only three weeks to install and activate the system from the time we signed the contract to activation of the system! We have used ASI for installation of systems and maintenance for the last 2.5 years and couldn't be more pleased. We highly recommend ASI for all your heating/air conditioning/solar needs. Awesome group of people to deal with!

They removed the old equipment and installed a new system. They put down throw cloths to protect my carpet. They did an upgrade of the cabinet for the heater. They did a very nice clean-up job afterwards. They completely hauled away all of the old equipment and gave me a complete run down on how the system operates and how to maintain it. Very nice and professional.

They do air duct cleaning if you need the service. But, they are mainly air conditioner and heating people. They add these other services as needed. You have to order it as a separate item. I have got automatic, prepaid situation. If they see that my ducts are dirty, then they will recommend that I get them cleaned. That is not what I use them for. They are on standby right now, I prepay. So, they come whenever on a regular basis.

Cost me $465 for one and a half hours and the technician could not find the Freon leak and suggested I pay an additional $500 for a fix that may not last two days. Ridiculous. I also had no idea they charge $310 per hour of labor!

I would maybe use them in the future.

They cancelled my appointment with them because they called me 30 minutes before the appointment twice and I did not pick up the phone. Phone was on vibrate mode and I did not hear it. They were not at the house yet. Once I called them to see why they were late, they said they had cancelled since I did not pick up the phone. I had a unit installed by them back in 2005 and had been using them for over 10 years and usually got great service. I told them I would never use their service again if this is how they treat repeat customers. If you are going to have a strict policy, PLEASE LET THE CUSTOMER CLEARLY KNOW WHAT THE POLICY IS. I really wanted to use them but they clearly did not want my repeat business or future referrals.

Travis B. was excellent. He showed up within the time window established in the appointment. He provided some excellent preventive maintenance tips and recommendations for the A/C system and use use of SmartAir function on the VenStar thermostat to circulate air in the house, life of different filters for the furnace, etc. ASI did not call ahead to confirm this appointment. I also do not like the fact that you must schedule separate appointments for A/C and heater-furnace checks; I suspect this is a money thing to enable additional service calls.

We got quotes for air conditioning installation from a couple of companies and this ASI quote was the lowest. We were familiar with ASI because they made a service call about 4 years ago when our furnace did reliably light. It was very old and they recommended that we replace it. We had a great experience with the furnace installation back then. Excellent installation of the new air conditioning system. Bryan, Miguel and Mike were professional, on time, and courteous. Bryan discussed the options for the location of the system and when we decided that we should move our shed so the air conditioner would be in a better location, they even helped us move the shed for better clearance at the side of the house. Bryan gave us a thorough explanation of operation and maintenance. It's going to be a cool summer! Great experience with ASI. We would definitely recommend ASI to others.

The auditor was very knowledgable and helpful. I did expect some sort of customized report on our house, but did not receive anything.

It was pretty much okay. The price ended up going up by about $1,000. It was a big A/C unit with a lot of ductwork. It took a while before I got all the ductwork finished. They said they had finished it, but they hadn't. I had to call them back several times to get the problems with the ductwork taken care of. The price they quoted was the best I could find, but then the price went up. They were pretty fast getting out there the first time. They would have gotten a better grade from me if when they said they were done, they would have been done or if when I called them and said they still had work to do if they had come out promptly and got it taken care of instead of dilly dallying. It took almost a month after they said they were done before they were done. I would like to not have paid the extra money that I ended up having to pay, but sometimes you don't see everything when you give an estimate.

I purchased directly from Angie?s List and they called a few days later to schedule the appt. On the day of the appt. the technican showed up and said he was there for an air-conditioning/heater check. I advised that I was expecting to get what I paid for (a 26 point inspection) which included the use of infrared cameras and testing the entire home for energy efficiency. He apologized and called in to the dispatcher and left. Later I was contacted and rescheduled the appointment. On the day of the second appointment, I received a call from the technician that he would be there shortly. I made sure he understood this was a complete 26-pont inspection and he needed to have the tools to complete this. He advised that he didn?t have an infrared camera couldn?t locate one (I guess they promote the use of the technology, but don?t really do it). Anyway I was promised that someone would come by at a later time and complete the inspection with an infrared camera and I would get everything I paid for. WRONG! I have to this day (4 months after purchasing and the visit) received NOTHING, no report!, no findings! no Follow-up! I have called ASI two separate times and written them on Angies List without response! While at one point early on someone called and apologized that I had not received my report, I was told they would get back to me and let me know where it was, and when the person would come by to do the infrared testing. NEVER happened, and that was the last contact I ever had from them. The thing is, I?m no dummy. I get it, $49 get?s them in the door and listing everything they can bid to repair for you. It?s an opportunity cost for them to pick up incremental business. I just never go the report, any bid, explanation of my results...nothing. Just a waste of time, effort, money, and frustration. If you like any of those things...by all means, pick up one of these $49 specials from ASI ?THE WASTE YOUR TIME GUYS!"

One thing I didn't like was they were supposed to set-up monitoring. They came out to do that and they couldn't get it to work. I would not use them again.

ASI has been a good provider and we have been pleased with their service. Replacing the thermostats was an exception. They replaced the modest original failed thermostats with $370 units. These are high end and big featured devices. They offered no cost discussion before installation of the fancy units or other options. Turns out their lowest priced replacement unit was more that $200 each. In a mild climate like San Diego has the high end thermostat functionality is of little use. While ASI provides good service, the replacement parts can be out of line, cost wise. When I called their office to complain about the cost, i was told "ASI is not the cheapest in town" No satisfaction.

I could not get the pilot on my gas furnace to light so based on Angie's list of reviews I hired ASI. One of their technicians came out on November 27, 2015. When he looked at my furnace he saw that I still had a solid gas intake pipe and said it needed to be changed to a flex pipe by law. I told him that SDG&E has told me that the solid pipe was grandfathered in and it did not need to be changed. I told him to get my furnace running and then we can talk about the flex pipe. The next thing I know he is tearing a part my furnace and changing the solid pipe to a flex pipe. He also changed the thermocouple all before even testing the furnace. He finally tested the furnace and it would not light. He said I needed a new pilot/control valve and that would cost $499, but he had to go back to his office to see if they had the part. He charged me $125 for the flex pipe. I did not hear back from ASI so I called them on December 2nd and was told that the part was no longer made and I needed a new furnace. I asked ASI how do I know their technician didn't break the part since he hadn't tested the furnace before tearing it apart? I also told them that ASI will never come into my house again. Later I found a part of my furnace laying at the bottom of the furnace that had never been put back by the ASI technician. I had SDG&E come out to my house on December 10th and they agreed that the control valve had to be replaced, but there is an aftermarket for the part and couldn't understand why ASI would tell me there wasn't. I was also told that the job replacing the flex pipe was a very sloppy job. I then went online to find a company to do the work. I found a company called Action Air that said they had the control valve my furnace needed and gave me a quote that was much lower than ASI's. They came out on January 7, 2016 and replaced the control valve, fixed that bad work ASI did on the flex pipe, put the part I found back where it belonged and got my furnace running. They did not charge me any extra for redoing ASI's work. I was very pleased with Action Air's work. I had SDG&E come back on January 20th and they gave my furnace a clean bill of health. ASI, the white glove guys? More like the greasy palm guys.

We were having problems with our A/C. It wasn't blowing cold air anymore. The technician showed up on time and seemed knowledgeable but it was a bit of a turn off that he pretty much told us that our A/C was probably shot and would need to be replaced before he really did anything. He did look at the thermostat and climbed into the attic and then went outside to look at the A/C unit which is about 10 years old. After just quick glance he said it was probably leaking but would cost $350 to do a proper diagnostic. We agreed and he found quickly found a leak on the coil. He told us right away that it probably isn't worth the cost to repair the unit and that we should just replace it. We were pretty disappointed to hear that but did ask for a quote. He said it would be about $9000 + for a new condenser and also said we needed all new venting too. We were hoping to be able to repair the unit rather than replace it but he said it wasn't even worth it. We decided to wait and think about it. A few weeks later a friend told us about an A/C repair person he knew and he came and checked it out and repaired it in about 20 minutes. Charged us $500 including the freon. Although he did also suggest replacing it when we can afford it, he also said we could probably get at least another 3 or 4 years out of the existing unit. ASI is a very reputable company but we do wish the tech had at least offered us the option of repairing it rather than just saying to replace it. It was a bit of a turnoff that he was recommending replacement within 5 minutes of meeting us.
