VERY GOOD CONSTRUCTION. EXCELLENT LOOK WITH LOTS OF STONE AND GRANITE. SOME LAYOUT FEATURES COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER THOUGHT OUT RESULTING IN A BETTER FLOOR PLAN AND BETTER USE OF FOOTPRINT. WORKERS SMOKED LEAVING CIGARETTE BUTTS AROUND THE PROPERTY, WOULD HAVE EXPECTED THEM TO PICK-UP THEIR BUTTS.

Response from Armstrong Builders, Inc.
A former company or ours designed and built the original building but we have not been to that site since circa 2003 or since it was finished. Not sure who Suzanne is talking about. I have met her and respect her. However, she wasn't around during construction and we have done no remodeling of that unit. We only have one man that smokes and he is the general superintendent Rick Adams. Also, Pacific Beach and that particular zone is very strict. To fit four units on those properties, living is tight so there will be some areas of desired improvement but no room to do it in. Parking and set-back requirements force your hand. I hereby respectfully challenge all of her negative comments
We couldn't be happier! Usually after a large job like this you think of a few things you wish you would have done, but due to Tom's involvement in this project it is absolutely perfect. We met with him many, many times for months before we were ready to begin the project, trying to figuring out exactly what would best meet our needs in the existing space we had. He is also an architect and provided us with many floor plans and and endless supply of ideas. During this time he didn't ask for a signed contract or payment of any kind. Only after we had finally decided we were ready to start the project did he ask for a contract and deposit. The few changes he made in our master bedroom by making a small change to doors and a wall, and moving a window, have allowed us room for more furniture with the added benefit of additional floor space. The bathrooms are both beautiful. The master bath is approximately 3 times bigger than our old one. We have new cabinets with tons of storage space, dual sinks, a large walk in shower with a glass half-wall enclosure, with marble wainscot, flooring and countertop. There is also a walk in closet with a built in organizer, skylight and marble flooring. The guest bath has a top quality Kohler tub, new vanity, a frameless glass, hinged shower door, a skylight, and marble wainscot, flooring and countertop. It was Tom's, and his superintendent Rick's attention to the tiniest of detail that made this job turn out so well. In drawing up the plans Tom thought about everything ahead of time, including the location of all furniture, lighting, electrical outlets and switches, down to the location of the towel bars and TP holders. We learned not to worry on the rare occasions when a subcontractor did something we questioned. As soon as Tom or Rick became aware of any problem it was immediately addressed and taken care of to our satisfaction. Both of them are not happy with anything less than perfect, and had no problem spending the time necessary to make everything "absolutely perfect". It has been three months since we finished this job. We are so happy with it, we wish we had done it years ago, but are glad we didn't. We probably wouldn't have known about Armstrong Builder's, and without them we certainly wouldn't have ended up with the wonderful space we have now. I have forgotten to mention how nice it was to have them here. Remodeling is not always fun, but they took such care to keep things clean and not be intrusive. Everyone who came on the job was respectful of us and our space. Tom and Rick are also really nice people, and all the workmen they brought in reflected that. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.
Description of Work: Tom replaced all windows with Milgard dual glazed windows, completely reconfigured and remodeled two existing bathrooms, changed existing walls and window in the master bedroom, and after removing a TV cabinet in the living room, replaced damaged wall and tiled exposed hearth to match already existing hearth. This work also included new lights in the master bedroom and both baths, and changing heating ducts. He ran "smurf" tubes through the walls, and ceiling where necessary, to hid any wires that would have been exposed from the flat screen TVs that where installed. Baths are new from the studs out, with new cabinets, kohler fixtures, marble floors and countertops, and glass shower enclosures. Skylights were finished, bull nose corners were installed in all new areas, and the interior was painted.

Wade was great to work with. They were very personable and easy to work with. They did really good work for us. If something wasn't right, they made sure everything was just the way we wanted it done. Sometimes, a few days would go by before they would come back out to finish the work so it took a while for the work to get completed.
Description of Work: They added a room onto our home. They completely remodeled two of our bathrooms. They brought all our railings on the stairs and around the house up to code. They also added a butlers pantry and built a cabana with a bathroom as well.
