Andy pressure washed our house last week and he did an excellent job. He spent most of the day working on it and was meticulous in every detail. Our house had not been pressured washed in many, many years and was much dirtier than anybody realized. Andy's work job transformed the look of the house and it now looks clean and sparkling. Not only is Andy a consummate professional, he is very pleasant and knowledgeable and offered lots of tips and advice on our gutters, roof, and other issues related to the house. My house had not been painted in 20+ years so to say that it was in 'poor' condition was a huge understatement. All of the fascia (west and east) were literally bubble/peel city. In some places, the fascia had started to dry-rot to escalate the problems. Where the stucco meets the ground, many places had started to bubble and peel indicating water penetration. The house has two (2) decorative 'emblems' that had extensive dry-rot. The frame around the garage door had extensive dry-rot so it needed a lot of work. So, bottom line, a lot of "prep" work was needed to be done FIRST before lifting a paint brush or spray-head. Since it was so extensive, I did a goodly amount of this work to make Andy's job a bit easier and lower my overall 'bill'! . Detail: To fix the fascia, it required sanding/scraping, priming and then wood spackle to properly prepare both fascias for painting. The ground level stucco was trenched, filled with stucco patch and sealed. The trenching was left exposed so that it could be further painted to seal out water. I decided to replace the garage door frame since it was easier to completely replace it than to hand-scrape it down to bare wood, prime, spackle and seal it. Certainly that would have worked but it's actually easier and quicker to replace the frame and start 'new'. Makes Andy's job much easier. The door on the west side of the house had dry-rot started by the door-hardware and bottom sill. It required lots of "wood-filler" and sanding to rebuild. Andy spent about 6 days in prep work (and yours truly!) before he started to paint. Since he sprayed it, it was done very quickly after all the tarps and masking tape was in place. Amazing how a pro painter can completely paint a wall 20' long x 8' high in about 3 minutes! He made my house look like new again! He is a pleasant person to have at my house. Sonny, his dog, was also on site and that wasn't a problem since he is well behaved. Andy is a very conscientious and detail oriented painter. I highly recommend him for your painting needs.

Took a little longer than expected, but the final product was worth the wait. His work was meticulous.

He turn out to be a excellent painter probably b/c he has been doing this for 40 years. As most painters say, painting is prep work . . . lots of it. He used tarps plus masked off all sensitive areas. Yes, there was a few places of 'over-spray' but he fixed those few places. He stained the fences, deck and gazebo with two coats of 25 year stain and they look absolutely like new! He showed me a technique he calls 'back-rolling'. After the spray gun deposits a goodly amount of paint, he uses a very thick, fuzzy roller to make sure that the paint gets into the many cracks and crevices of the boards. This of course, makes a longer lasting paint job. Anybody wanting a great, thoroughly and professionally done paint 'job', Andy is your man. I recommend him to everybody needing some painting done with care!

After Andy completed the work the room looked so nice, fresh and cheerful that I asked him to come back next week to paint the rest of the walls in an off white color. I found Andy to be very professional, attentive, kind, and a hard worker. I was touched that he took the time to make sure Home Depot had the exact color I had chosen (it was an old tint). I recommend Andy to Angie's List members and will be hiring him again. Thank you Andy!

Andy did a fantastic job. I am a perfectionist and have always been hesitant to hire a painter because I was afraid they wouldn't meet my standards. Andy well exceeded them! His edging is perfect. The house looks great! Andy spent 10 days with us on this job. He's a great guy. I would highly recommend him. I wouldn't have anyone else paint our house.

Andrew did an outstanding job! He is meticulous planner, thoroughly professional in his work and work ethics, a real craftsman at his trade and very easy to work with. My wife and I were so taken with the fantastic job he did that we immediately retained him to start in January to paint other portions of our home. I have been associated with the community association/building industry for over 20 years and he is one of the best at his trade that I have ever seen!

The guy who did the job was Andy. He was very informative. He seemed to be very knowledgeable and honest. He was very helpful and billed within my will. I have called him for several other bids already and I have recommended him to several other people.

Andy did a great job on the painting of the exterior of my house. The house was in BAD condition. There was peeling paint on the eaves, fascia and even several walls on the house. Andy took the time to scrape down all the surfaces during the prep portion of the job. He ended up having to prime almost all of the fascia because the peeling was so bad. He also caulked around all of the windows, around the garage door and the wood siding in front of the house. Andy trenched around the house so that he could fix all of the stucco damage. He did all of this work cheerfully and as quickly as he could. He even replaced wood around my kitchen window and fixed the damage on the garage window. He showed up everyday and worked h****** making my house look good again. Once Andy was done with the prep work it was onto painting which went quickly and efficiently. He put two coats of quality paint on all the surfaces, including windows, entry doors, eaves and the garage door. He even repainted my two sets of house numbers before he put them back up. Andy made my house look good again. He was cheerful and very pleasant to have at my house. He does bring his dog to the job which wasn't a problem for me. The dog is mellow and very well trained. My family enjoyed his dog Sonny's presence. My son looked forward to playing with the dog when he came home from school. Because of how BAD my house was, Andy was there for almost two weeks. He worked hard to take care of what the previous painter did wrong and the years of us putting off painting the house. Andy is a very conscientious and detail oriented painter. I will be calling him again in the future when I need painting done around the house.

Andrew did a great job. The paint was peeling from our metal spiral staircase, some in large chunks. Our regular painter was unavailable but said he would have to sand everything down to the metal, prime it and repaint which would be horridly expensive. I think the original painter (not our regular person) had not primed it properly and that is why it had peeled. Andrew provided a middle solution--he powerwashed the staircase and much of the large chunks of paint were removed. He then painted with excellent outdoor metal paint. He showed up on time and did a great job. My nitpick comment is that he did not clean up all the flakes of paint that were removed, which he should have done before he started painting. After he finished the job, I clearned up those that I could (those on the concrete and brick), but the others had blown throughout the yard by the time he was finished.

Experience was awesome. Andy showed up on the agreed upon start date and everything went perfect for the approximately two weeks Andy and his helper Rich were onsite. I didn't need to get involved in the day to day of operations - these guys just "figured it out" which is the best type of contractor! Lots of attention to detail and some items (replacing molding) that I did not expect. The house was in pretty bad shape before Andy started, cracks and holes everywhere and gummy stickers on the doors. The house looks terrific now and much better experience than the last interior paint at my current residence. Here is why: Andy - has helper Rich who was been in the business just as long as Andy. Other guy: Clearly hired day laborers with low experience who made a mess of things, over spray, no priming for needed spots, not using gloss for baseboards, etc. I would not hesitate to recommend Andy and his highly experienced team for any and all painting needs. Would definitely use Andy again!

Andy was punctual ,professional and extremely detailed. He went above and beyond to get my bathroom finsihed in a time crunch before my cabinets went in-- even working late into the night and making a special trip back after the paint dried. He did an excellent job and will soon return to finish the whole condo. I am extremely picky and detailed and I would not hesitate to recommend him !

Andy was very punctual when it was time to give the estimate and he was very clear on what he could do and what he would recommend should be done by another "specialist". His price seemed fair and I liked his honesty. His work is excellent and my 900 square foot home looks much, much nicer since he finished. This was NOT an easy job and he did everything by himself. That is the only real reason I will most likely not ask for his services again; I'm more impatient than I expected and having to deal with locking up my dogs and finding new ways in and out of my house for even more than a day was more inconvenient than I originally expected. I was told by the paint store that a house my size should be painted in a day, so when Andy got to the actual painting part I was anxious to have it done many days before it was complete. Andy brings his dog with him to the job site daily, which again, I didn't think would bother me but it seemed to upset my dogs more than I expected. I found having plastic up overnight to be inconvenient and I really just would have preferred to have a team of people get the job done in a few days vs having a single person spread it over several weeks. Overall, the final product has real curb appeal and my neighbors are also impressed with his work.

He did a wonderful, very quality job. He used primer in my kitchen to be sure the previous color didn't show through. His trimming (with blue tape) was impeccable. He called to confirm before coming over and gave advice on some of the prep work I was doing (patching a hole and re-texturing) which made the task a LOT easier. Overall we were very happy with his services. He is very friendly and offered advice on other projects as well. We will certainly use Andrew's services again.

Andy answered my call and scheduled the job for the next week. He came out on the scheduled day and completed the job that same day. He did excellent work painting, cleaned up when he was done and left our bathroom and utility room in good shape. We will hire him again on other painting projects. He is professional, personable and reliable.

Andy gave us an estimate in the middle range. We chose him because he is in our neighborhood and had good reviews. The original estimate was to exclude the window trims, but we added the task in the middle of the job because of the good quality of his work. He works alone, so he takes a little longer. But this is compensated for in his attention to detail and responsibility for a good job. He also repaired some wood rot without additional cost.

Andy had painted my home many years ago and I found him on Angie's List and called when I needed an update. He is completely professional and, most importantly, willing to work with clients who are still making decisions! He wants the job to be perfect and the customer to be completely happy with the work. He is very easy to work with and accomodating with regard to scheduling.

I purchased this painting service on a Big Deal when it was offered. It was a huge discount so I expected there to be less effort put forth. Boy, was I wrong! The communication beforehand was A+. Andy showed up exactly on time and stayed the entire 8 hours, working hard; not wasting time so as to get as much accomplished as he could. He was very personable, honest and trustworthy. He knows his craft and had many good suggestions to pass on which would help us if we take on future paint projects ourselves. I found Andy to take great pride in his work, is a perfectionist and his work shows it. We couldn't be more happy on every level with the outcome. When he left, our place was as clean as when he arrived. We will absolutely use Andrew Sturtevant Painting again if we are in need of an awesome painter.

Although it was a weekend, Andy returned my call that day. We set up an appointment for an estimate and he was right on time. He quoted my a good price for the job and we started the next week. When Andy started the job he realized he'd have to redo a previous workers' bad texturizing job, but he didn't change the estimate price, even though more work was involved than he originally thought. The work was excellent. I would highly recommend Andy for any painting needs - he's professional, highly skilled and offers a fair price. All in all a great experience!
