Alpha Handyman

I had some light odds and ends to repair in my condo, and Fred and his guys did an excellent job. This included some wall reinforcement in my bathroom to accommodate some heavy accessories, drywall repair, and paint matching in both the bathroom, kitchen and a bedroom, as well as installing a new front door to accommodate a new smart lock. The work was cleanly done, Fred was punctual and even accommodating of my schedule. He came in under budget, a day ahead of schedule, and made cost saving suggestions to make the job work to my advantage. Looking forward to having him back for other projects!

Fred and his workers were always kind and professional. Fred kept me updated on the project and completed the job much earlier than expected. We had a pretty difficult situation dealing with the insurance company but Fred certainly was our silver lining. He worked with us regarding delivery of payment. He listened and took care of all our needs requested and gave us an honest opinion in his field of expertise. There is no need to look any further, Alpha Handyman is worth every penny! You will not be disappointed.

I found Fred on Angie's List. I actually attempted to contact two other handymen that day as well. One's email address came back dead, and the other never responded. Fred, however, responded almost instantly AND came over the very same day to give me an estimate. He is very pleasant and seemed genuinely interested in our remodeling project. We are remodeling most of the kitchen ourselves, with help from our licensed electrician relative, but needed a contractor person to take down a wall between living room and kitchen and finish that drywall. However, we were planning to paint the walls ourselves afterwards. Sometimes, I've found, if contractors come in and see your DIY work, they scoff at it or try to get you to hire them for everything. Fred isn't like that, which I appreciated. He was only complimentary and did not try to upsell. His estimate was very reasonable and came in written form via email the following day. He was able to schedule it fairly quickly. On the day of, two of his workers arrived and carefully covered up the stuff in the dining area, including the floor. I liked that they were wearing a matching "uniform" of neon orange shirts-- it was a nice professional touch. They were very polite and surprisingly quiet (just the sounds of power tools, necessary demo, and soft conversation). Fred came by at the beginning of the job and again later in the day to see how it was going. He also told me how to paint the new drywall-- to go over it once with a sanding block, but only once so as not to remove the texture. They ended up only taking one day plus two hours the next day. Everything was cleaned up, and they left me the can of drywall texture in case I needed it. I really enjoyed not having to worry about that wall. I would use Fred again and am already plotting what other projects he can do.

My fence was built so fast and everything went really smoothly. No surprises. Fred was very upfront and also helpful with good advice. The fence looks beautiful! We are very happy with his work and the price was very reasonable.

The job was done in a timely manner. The job was neatly done. The workmen cleaned the area of any debris and put left over tile in a designated area. The workmen were very polite. The price did not include the tile, which I chose and delivered to the job site.

Owner, Fred, was responsive and solved the problem of how to reattach particle board shelved that had broken. Worker, Ruben, was neat and skillful with patching, texturing and painting.

All tasks were completed as requested. The crew was as unobtrusive as one could expect.

Fred responded quickly and came over to inspect the roof and provide an estimate. During the tear down additional damage was discovered and I was quickly informed of the problems and the slight additional cost to complete. The work went quickly and completed to my satisfaction. The job site was cleaned up and all trash was removed. I am completely satisfied with all the work done and would not hesitate to recommend Alpha Handyman Services.

We were very impressed by this company. Frank was very responsive by phone and text to get the technician scheduled, and he checked in with us throughout the day to make sure we were happy with the work. We gave Danny, our technician a list of ten items that needed repair and he finished seven of them within an hour and a half. He repaired a fan, fixed two faucets, replaced a screen on a screen door, and did a variety of other small repairs as well. He worked so fast that we ran out of things for him to do by 2pm. Would definitely hire this company in the future.

Fred and co-worker arrived ahead of schedule! Two of them managed to complete the entire job in just over four hours. The work was of high quality and the finished results are excellent. The only negative was Fred's use of air-driven brads to fasten the vertical cedar planks to the fence runners; I would have specified stainless steel screws (which I can add, myself). The crew left the area in spotless condition. Rapid work, and no wasted time on the job. I will hire Alpha Handyman for future work.

Alpha Handyman was very prompt and very professional in their consultation. When the day came, they were absolutely fantastic in being on-time, quick, and comprehensive with the job. I would highly recommend their service and will be using them again.

Work was completed very efficiently and to my satisfaction. They left the garage work area cleaner than they found it. We have started discussing future projects.

Everything went well.l From all the information i from received from other people his company is top of the line. I am not ready to install Cabinets at this time.

When Fred came in, he gave us a couple of options and broke everything down for us in his estimate. He was honest and never pressured us to chose the expensive options. In fact, he originally estimated it would cost more and refunded us the difference. Once we decided what we were going to do, he went to work right away and finished the project quickly - without skipping corners. He also always made sure to call or text me with updates. Fred and his team were very trustworthy and I would definitely call him again if I ever need any more work done.

I contacted Fred Pratt to add a pest control door sweep to my security door. There was a 3-inch gap between my security door and the cement so there was a lot more work involved than adding the door sweep. I had just gotten rid of two rats that were in my condo, so I was really freaked out. I called him back to do more even more though what he had done in the first place probably would have prevented any rats from coming in. He came back willingly and did the work. I will definitely call Alpha again in the future.

My wife and I had an idea to open up our house by turning a front window into a door and the existing side door into a window. We had a couple people come by to give us estimates including Alpha Handyman who we found on Angie's List. Fred Pratt, the owner, showed up to give us an estimate. He was timely, very professional, and extremely helpful helping us figure out exactly what could be done and how we should best go about the job to ensure we didn't affect the structural stability of the home while getting exactly what we wanted. Additionally he was very knowledgeable about the process of getting a permit and dealing with the city of San Diego and its inspectors. This being my first experience getting a permit, he was a huge help. He basically walked me through it. I asked him a ton of questions and he always had an answer and was quick to respond. I couldn't be happier with the results and would hire him and his company again in a heartbeat.

Some of the other work I have will be a little more involved so I believe I will be going with this person. He seems like he can handle larger jobs around the home. He was very responsive with letting me know he is busy so I will definitely try and use him in the future.

Absolutely perfect - seamless operation. Very polite, on time, great service! I would highly recommend them for any home project. I will be using again in the future. When he arrived I told him what I wanted done - 4 handicap bars installed in my dad's bathroom. Eleazar told me that he would take care of what I needed. He went to Home Depot bought what was needed to do the job and had the job finished in a short time! All I had to do was reimburse them for materials and time. Very smooth operation.

I hired Alpha Handyman to install backsplash in my kitchen and crown molding over my kitchen lighting. They did a wonderful job and I love it! The workers were very nice and professional. They cleaned up every day before leaving. I recommend Alpha Handyman!!

The removal of the wall was a challenging task and Fred was able to creatively get it done, even after we took a look behind the drywall and found that things were more difficult than expected. Fred was extremely responsive to all communication, gave me honest, straightforward answers and got the job done in a very timely manner. I really appreciate the updates he provided throughout the project. I also found the pricing to be reasonable compared to the other quote we got. We plan to use Fred again when we're ready to redo our kitchen in the future.

Everything was installed correctly and quickly. Fred Pratt's employees worked very hard and finished the job in a timely manner. I appreciate how they covered my hardwood floors to protect them and cleaned everything up every evening before they left. All we had to do was close the bathroom door and you would never know we were having work done. Fred stopped by every morning to make sure things wee going well and returned phone calls right away. Overall, we are pleased with the bathroom and it looks great. We will definitely call Fred when we decide to do update anything else.

From the beginning, Fred was responsive, professional and honest. He listened to my ideas/wants for this project and told me where things would work and where we should adjust our expectations. We had a challenging task of trying to remove/shorten a load bearing wall. He was able to creatively make it work in a way that was structurally sound and gave us more open space. His team was also able to do some difficult electrical work. Our kitchen is now so open to our living area with some excellent lighting. We are really happy. I was also very pleased with the level of communication throughout the job as well as the quickness of completion. Down the road we plan to redo our kitchen and I'll definitely want to use Fred and his team again.

Fred was beyond amazing and professional; he was able to meet quickly and return a quote to us promptly when we had a short timeline to meet. He was also able to meet our timeline and make suggestions to improve what we needed. The finished product was not only within our timeline, but it is beautiful and sturdy. Fred (the owner) contacted me promptly for an inspection for the job and provided an estimate. I was impressed that he also provided this estimate in writing within 24 hour but before work started (for which he showed up promptly). He was pleasant to work with and made sure he understood the task (my speech is poor, so this required some effort on his part). Not only was he--and his assistant--fast and the work very good, but he also came in significantly UNDER the estimate given. I have high ceilings which are difficult ti get to, therefore, I expect to use his services frequently in the future.
