Alliance Environmental was the firm that removed asbestos when our old vinyl flooring containing asbestos was removed. They were recommended by Restoration Solutions, the contractor who restored a room in our house after a water leak was discovered. Alliance team did their work efficiently and as quickly as possible. They also brought in another firm to check to make sure all the asbestos was gone. Very professional group.

They were wonderful. I did have some trouble with an account employee Jessica Vazquez with Alliance Corporate in regard to my homeowners insurance. She has the worst customer service. I had to contact the owner of the corporate office and they apologized for the delay and took care of everything for me. But, other than that everything was wonderful. Joe and Ramona from the corporate office were fabulous. They were very attentive when it came to the work being complete.
Description of Work: They tore out all the walls in my home.

On July 30, 2012, Brian came to my property when I initially went into escrow to quote an Asbestos removal project. Brian gave us a written quote for $1500 to remove the asbestos. It was later discovered that there was also Asbestos in a back room and approximately 2 weeks later we received an additional quote for $3000 to remove asbestos in this additional room. On 30AUG, I closed escrow on the property and contacted Brian to have the work done on only the initial two rooms in the house. Despite there being an initial quote of 1500 for that same job, Brian sent me a bid for $2300. When I showed him the other bid, he accepted that as the correct offer. On 09SEP Brian informed me via email that the removal team will be there between 8 and 830 the following day. The team showed up after 830 and I was unable to meet with them to discuss the nature of the job. I called Brian approximately 4 times that morning with no returned phone call. I received an email at roughly noon stating that the team had arrived and that the job should be done today or tomorrow. The team left my property at 2PM having not finished, and had cordoned of my only bathroom and running water in the house. Upon my discovery of this that evening, I called Brian, his corporate office, his boss Carlos 7 times to find out what was going on and where they expected me to stay. Brian then called at 6pm to tell me I was wrong, repeatedly, and that he informed it was a two day job and that he ?doesn?t have time to talk to some clients every day? even though I was having the Asbestos actually removed from my house that day! I was left without a toilet, toiletries, medication, and any running water at the house until about 3pm the following day. I was given no prior notice, nor was I given even a phone call after to inform me of the issue. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Description of Work: I had Asbestos removed from both the Kitchen tiles and the ducting in the Attic.

Overall it went well. There were some difficulties getting the estimator to come out and look at the job. In the end they gave me an estimate over the phone. When the team arrived they felt the job was greater than the scope quoted as there were 3 steps involved. I agreed to eliminate a portion of the work and the job was completed. In the end they did a good job and I was happy with the work.I would highly recommend that you be sure the estimator comes out and looks at the job before scheduling the work so there are no surprises on either end when the team arrives.

The actual work was done well enough, but the cleanup was poor -- left debris everywhere, and staples in the walls etc. Not what I expected for this price, a good $1000 more than an independent drywaller would have charged. If you use this company, suggest you be there when they're finishing the cleanup to be sure they get it all. Also, the crew had their boombox blasting even after I asked them to turn it down. Not good for the neighbors. This seems very unprofessional. People should be able to do their work without entertainment. It's a job, not a party. One more thing: the Alliance sales rep quoted me $200 for the independent lab report to be done after their work, before teardown. He wouldn't give me the name and number of the lab so I could confirm the cost, and when the lab came to test, their price was actually $300.

The gentlemen told me that any company could actually safely remove my windows that are full of lead paint and other chemicals, now if you do the research this is not true. Specially licensed companies actually do this work and are certified. This potentially could have been fatal for my child.

THIS MEMBER IS CORRECT IN STATING THAT IT IS HARMFUL TO THE HEALTH OF HERSELF AND HER CHILD TO REMOVE LEAD BASED PAINT WITHOUT THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS TAKEN BY A CERTIFIED ENVIRONMENTAL CONTRACTOR SUCH AS OURSELVES. WE DEFINITELY UNDERSTAND HER CONCERNS. CERTIFIED LEAD ABATEMENT CONTRACTORS MUST MEET THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO BE CERTIFIED. ALLIANCE ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP IS FULLY QUALIFIED AND LICENSED TO REMOVE LEAD BASED PAINT. MEASURES THAT MUST BE TAKEN IN ORDER TO REMOVE LEAD PAINT CAREFULLY INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TO PROPER CONTAINMENT AND REMOVAL, THOROUGH SITE DECONTAMINATION AND LAWFUL DISPOSAL. ALLIANCE ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP PROVIDED HER WITH A PROPOSAL THAT INCLUDED ALL MEASURE THAT WOULD BE TAKEN TO REMOVE THE HAZARDOUS LEAD PAINT IN HER HOME. INCLUDED IN THIS PROPOSAL WAS THE ESTIMATED COST OF REMOVAL OF $4798.13. IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT SHE DID NOT CHOOSE ALLIANCE ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP TO KEEP HER HOME AND FAMILY SAFE. WE HOPE THAT SHE WAS ABLE TO FIND A CERTIFIED CONTRACTOR WHO REMOVED THE LEAD BASED PAINT FROM HER HOME PROPERLY AND SAFELY. SAFETY IS ONE OF OUR HIGHEST PRIORITIES AT ALLIANCE ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP.

This is a horror story about using a contractor totally lacking in competence and integrity. There is not enough space for all of the ugly details. Highlights: Inadequate barrier seals; potential health hazard to occupants; independent lab confirmed asbestos contamination remaining after 'job' done; demolished ceiling in master bedroom; extensive damage to family room ceiling ; mutual agreement to repair/replacement, compensate and monitor health of occupants reneged by local branch manager after face to face negotiations. Simply an unbelievable nightmare resulting in a scheduled court hearing. Wish us luck! Total costs and expenses to remedy: over the $7500 amount allowed in small claims court - none of this encompasses health concerns and emotional/psychological grief.
Description of Work: We contracted for asbestos removal in our home. Areas to be contained and ceilings scraped included: master bedroom, hall, and family room.

Alliance was responsive and came out to give us a quote quickly on the job. We wanted to have the asbestos removed before we moved in, and it therefore had to be completed, before the tent went up for our fumigation. We signed the contract with the job to be completed the evening, before the tent was to go up. The removal went quickly, and then the project seem to stall. They use an independent company to measure the asbestos. Although, they know the company usually requires a 24 hour turn around, they did not give them clearance until, the morning they were supposed to be finished. The test results were not in until, the morning the tent was supposed to go up (which I had to reschedule), which is when they could tear down the clean area. The clearance came at 8:00 am, I had to call and make sure they pulled it down, and they didn't finish until 11:45 am. Also, I did not realize, that there would be so much damage, to the walls.

WE WERE GREATLY APOLOGETIC TO HER FOR THE INCONVENIENCE THAT WE CAUSED HER. WITH SUCH TIGHT DEADLINES WE MUST BE CAUTIOUS IN PROMISING TO MEET DEADLINES THAT WE SOMETIMES HAVE NO CONTROL OVER. A THIRD PARTY LAB IS REQUIRED TO CONDUCT TESTING AFTER EVERY JOB TO ENSURE THAT THE HOME IS SAFE FROM ANY HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. WE UNDERSTAND HOW STRESSFUL IN CAN BE REMOLDING A HOME AND WE WANT TO DO EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO MAKE THE PROCESS AS PAINLESS AS POSSIBLE. ALLIANCE ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP

We had a slab leak which effected the dining room carpet. When they pulled up the carpet, the asbestos tile underneath was loose. The restoration company had the tile tested and it tested positive for asbestos. The insurance company hired Alliance to remove the asbestos tiles and transport it to a hazardous waste dump in Arizona.

They showed up exactly when scheduled, completed the job quickly (just a day and a half on the job) and met all of my expectations. There were regular visits from supervisors along the way. One side benefit of having them do it is that my entire demo was handled like hazardous material, so NO dust in the house! Everything was neat as a pin while the demo was in progress and after. AND I spent less money that originally bid by my installers! I was delighted.
Description of Work: We had originally planned to have our kitchen cabinet installers demo the cabinets and the floor installers demo the old floor in our very dated kitchen. When we started to describe the existing floor, the second installers said that it probably contained some asbestos. I contacted Alliance based on an Angie's List referral and asked them to bid the entire demo, including the asbestos mitigation.

ALLIANCE GAVE ME A QUOTE ON FRIDAY AND WAS AT MY HOME THE FOLLOWING MONDAY TO PERFORM THE JOB. THEY WERE EFFICIENT, COURTEOUS, AND LEFT THE CEILINGS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION - READY TO BE PRIMED AND PAINTED. THEY RETURNED ALL OF MY PHONE CALLS IN A TIMELY MANNER.
Description of Work: REMOVED POPCORN CEILINGS IN 4 BEDROOMS AND HALLWAY THAT HAD TESTED POSITIVE FOR ASBESTOS. BEDROOM CEILINGS WERE CATHEDRAL. REMOVED CEILINGS ON MONDAY AND RELEASED THE SPACE BACK TO ME ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON - EXACTLY AS THEY HAD PROMISED.
