+ -1 moreIt went very well. Philip was punctual, professional, conversational, and very open and receptive to answer questions/concerns from my husband and I. We chose him from the referrals on this site and he certainly delivered. He took his time and had tremedous attention to detail. He was willing to climb and explore a couple of attic spaces (that I believe many wouldn't) He came up with legitimate areas of concern that a prior home inspector did not. Overall, Philip was terrific and I would definitely hire him again and/or recommend him highly!!

Description of Work: Philip was already on site conducting the inspection when I arrived. He introduced himself and was a nice fella. The inspection was a few hours which included the roof and the basement crawls pace. Throughout the process, he pointed out and discussed his findings. he had suggestions for DIY projects and suggestions where professionals might be needed. He wasn't in a rush and made sure I knew that I could contact him if I had any questions at a later time. I received a detailed PDF report the next day. I definitely recommend Philip just for his personable professionalism as well as his thorough report.

+ -1 moreWe are overseas buyers so we flew to the US for 2 days specifically for the inspection and to check out the house, so a lot was riding on it. If the inspection did not go well, we would not have bought the house. We found Phil by checking the Better Business Bureau. We double confirmed that he'd be there before we headed on our flight. Because we had so little time there, our realtor had arranged contractors, an architect and finally the listing agent coming in and out of the house. The whole time we were focusing on what Phil had to say but also getting pulled away to talk to these other people. When Phil was done with the inspection he gave us his verbal assessment in front of our realtor and the listing agent so all of us could hear what he had to say. Our realtor asked us where we found this guy because she had never seen such a thorough inspection before. By the next day the report was ready with photos and description of the various aspects of the house, which we had authorized Phil to send to our realtor as well. After we reviewed the report, we felt confident enough in our decision about the house and went ahead with it that day. Phil also told us we can ask him any follow-up questions if we had any. Thank you Phil! Highly recommend his service. Phil was totally professional, knowledgeable, punctual, and efficient.
Description of Work: Phil did a full 4-hour home inspection for us for our home purchase, including checking under the house, walked the roof, and spa inspection. The house was built in the 1960s so we wanted to make sure we knew the issues before plonking down on such a big purchase. Phil was at the house before we were. He started checking the exterior of the house for rot/termite issues, foundation where he told us vegetation should be a foot away from the house. Garage showed some water stains. He pointed out the electrical system looked good but advised that the brand of our electrical system has been known to have had problems in the past. Great full disclosure! Next was checking of the built-in outdoor spa and that all the controls worked as they should. Inside the house he checked everything: all faucets were run, heating system checked, doors, dishwasher, visuals on ceilings (found slight mold issue that I would not have seen myself), and water damage in a closet that shared a door with the bathroom. Overall we were totally impressed by what he knew and how detailed the inspection went. At first we kept asking questions but then just let him go at his own pace where he pointed things out to us.
