Description of Work: I had a great experience with American Home Entertainment. Specifically Djell Osness there. I recently bought a new house and this company was the one that originally installed all the networking, security system, phone system in this house. The home was built in 2003 and there was an old sticker on the panel and when I called it, the number was no longer in service but with the power of Google I was able to find them. I played phone tag with one of the customer service reps but Kjell confirmed a visit and he was GREAT! He was running a bit late but he called me to confirm it was ok. He came out originally to check out the security system, change the battery in it and also the wire panel where all the cables come in were a mess after Time Warner came out. I didn't want to touch the cables so he organized it very nicely. I have my home office downstairs so he added a switch so that I can use internet in any room in the house as the house is wired for hard wire internet. He also moved the cable modem downstairs so I could control everything from my home office. He also enabled it so I could use hardwire for my Apple TV (for our Netflix) rather than Wi-Fi so it's quicker). He also rigged it so the entire house phone jacks could run off my Vonage VoIP router. He was very thorough and took the time to explain everything. I'd highly recommend Kjell and will use him for any tech issues in the future. He spent several hours out at the house and solved all the issues that I needed.

+ -1 moreInitially the A/V consultant was to install the Slingbox, however several problems were encountered because of the initial system installation by Time Warmer. Bill did an outstanding job of resolving all issues and dealing with several obstacles. He returned to do some additional re-wiring of the network. Totally exceeded my expectations.
Description of Work: Installed Slingbox and reconfigured home network, configured Airport Extreme, original router, computers and printer.

+ -1 moreI gave the audio/video consultant Rick Kelsay a call. He came to my house to assess what I wanted and needed. He gave me good suggestions and an estimate. They sent Ken Hurd to do the installation. He straightened everything out and explained everything to me. When I had a question about the bill, they took time to explain that to me. I am happy to say that they did a great job.
Description of Work: I hired them to reconnect all of my electronic equipment and make it user friendly. I wanted them to explain and instruct me in what they did to the system. They installed a 35" flat screen tv and sold me a universal remote.

+ -1 moreTwo technicians arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. Our new gear was up and running in short order and has worked beautifully ever since installation. There was no service charge to install one of the components which was delayed due to back-order. I checked equipment prices from a number of other sources and found American Home Entertainment to be very competitive. Owner Joe Ortega was very helpful in giving me excellent advice on how to upgrade our system in the most cost-effective manner.
Description of Work: We were planning a major remodeling project for the ground floor of our home. We wanted to get a large flat-screen TV and update our existing Bose built-in home theater and stereo system.
