ADS Automatic Door Specialists

The ADS technicians did an extremely god job in all aspects of the work. I have employed this company several times before this visit and have grown to trust the professional performance and excellent technician skill and attitude. The technicians did the maintenance and spring changes, tested all aspects of the doors after each step, and made sure that I could operate the door successfully if we lost power in the area and I needed to open the door under manual control. Tuning and lubricating the doors is critical to having a door that is easy to lift without power. The area I live in was in the Cedar Fire area and I wanted to make sure that I could perform these functions manually if necessary to leave quickly, especially at night without power or lights. I would very highly recommend this service by ADS to anyone with automatic garage doors.

My ONLY gripe is that the frequency of the signal transmitter coincides with one the Navy has used for years, and, when the Navy is doing certain manuevers, the transmitter signal is blocked in our immediate area, which is a BFD because we have an alarm system which means we have to move our cars out of the garage in the morning after using the hard-wired wall unit, park, return to the garage, lower the door, set the alarm, get to the delay door during the safety period, exit, lock that door, and return to the car. Ditto but reverse procedure when we return home. It makes us very cross. I checked on line and discovered that the company making the opener has another frequency transmitter that doesn't duplicate the Navy's frequency. Interestingly enough, when the garage openers aren't working, the remote access to my Camry also won't work.

They answered the phone promptly and gave me an appointment a couple of days in the future. They called back to adjust the arrival time once. The tech was on time and performed the job quickly and then went over what he had done. He also gave me a tip about securing the door should this ever happen again.

When I returned home from the dentist at 9:30 am my garage door would not work. I looked at it from the inside and saw that the spring was brokent and wires that pull the door up were lying on the garage floor. I called ADS and by noon they had been here and fixed it better ever. The price may be a little high, but it was worth it to me.

I have a lifetime warranty on the new motor. They were very patient and very good. I like the way they answer the phone and they call when they are on their way. I trusted him and the door works fine. He even helped my husband move things around in the garage so we could get everything away from the door.

I was very pleased with their response and helpfulness. They could have easily charged me for a visit and gotten me to unnecessarily replace the board. I will definitely call and use them for any garage door issues I have in the future.

They are professional and responsible. I had informed them that I was interested in plastic wheels opposed to metal to make the door more quiet. They upgraded me from the metal to the plastic for no additional charge (a $39 value) just for mentioning Angie's List which was nice.

The company was wonderfully flexible working with me re; time, since I work and had numerous other time constraints. The service man was prompt, efficient, and was a marvelous explainer! He made sure I understood how to do what he did myself, and he then checked all the other functions of the door (safety, etc.) and explained everything as he did it. I wish more doctors were as thorough and good at explaining! He didn't leave until he had thoroughly checked out my door and knew that everything was in working order.

The technician arrived within the allotted time. The technician described the problem. The cost for the new gear box was $95 and the service/labor was $95. With tax and everything, it came out to be about $195. The cost for a new lifter would have been about twice that. We'll see how long the gear box lasts. Overall, the service was acceptable and prompt. The technician did a good job explaining everything and showing what was fixed/replaced.

We've used ADS on two separate occasions recently, at two different properties. Their basic service call is $95, and both times they have completed the work with no additional fee. For the first repair, a tenant forgot to open the garage door before starting to back out. The door was bent, rails were bent, and the door stuck half hanging. They were able to bend it back into shape, bend the rails back and adjust it. They recommended installing new rails eventually, but didn't push it. For the second repair, they fixed a squeaky and groaning door and then replaced a broken face plate on the wall panel without being asked and at no additional charge. Appointment (2-hour window) within 48 hours of calling and arrived on time and called ahead.

This is the second time we used ADS for a garage door repair. The workmanship is great. This time the person responsible for scheduling forgot to put us on the repairman's schedule. ADS did manage to find a repairman for the day we were expecting one. The repairman was 1 hour later than our window.

I would use them again. They did what they said they were going to do.

We inadvertently were backing out of the garage with the trunk lid open and hit the overhead garage door. Apparently this is a common problem. As a result one cable broke and in order to close the door, we needed to disengage the door and release the pulley cable on the opposite side. Upon checking Angie's List I contacted ADS and they were available to come on the same day; however, that was not convenient for me so we scheduled an appointment two days later. They called before the technician arrived to indicate that he was on his way. The technician, Noe Gomez, performed the repair and adjustment. He also pointed out some potential future problems with the motor and recommended a replacement if the motor fails. He was very professional and courteous. I will call them again if needed.

I called to schedule an estimate and was told that the salesperson is not in the office and will call me back. On the same day, I called another company who scheduled an estimate on the first call. A few days later, I already received an estimate from the other company but no return phone call from ADS. I then accidentally called ADS, thinking I was calling the other company for a follow-up. When I realized what happened, I tried the get off the phone but was not successful. The woman who answered was very apologetic & told me that the salesperson was usually very good about returning calls & that he'll call to schedule the estimate. She said it would be well worth my time as they are going to be the cheapest. Again, the salesperson never called. Two days later, I receive a call from an ADS employee stating that he's at my house for an estimate. I told him that no one ever called to schedule the estimate so I wasn't sure why he was at my house. Never heard from anyone at the company.

Representative was professional and knowledgeable. Work was performed satisfactorily.

They were superb! They came out when they said they were going to. They gave me a quote over the phone and that is what I paid.

Buying: Nice showroom w/ examples of the three top-end models. patiently answered questions about various features & benefits. Options were presented to make sure I had an understanding of the full gamut of possibilities. Was able to schedule immediate next day at-home measurement. Pre-Installation: door arrived over a week earlier than originally promised. Patiently answered questions about the installation, provided advice & recommendation on painting. Installation: very flexible in timing to accommodate my schedule. Called the day before to confirm. Late by an hour, but received call to alert me. Took about 3 hours to dismantle old door + opener, install new setup, clean up, and finish up. Post-Installation: runs smoothly and quietly. Noticeable difference from old POS door. Insulation seems, at first blush, to be doing what I d hope it would; several niceties like remote kill, light switch, two small remotes.

I called the company and they were out within an hour and performed a temporary fix. This allowed me to use my garage door immediately. Once the parts came in (about 4 days) they came out the same day and completed the job. Very fast and accommodating.

I had previously purchased a part from ADS. My wife called ADS to have them come to service the garage door, which was not working. The person that answered the phone asked a few questions and gave a suggestion on what the problem was. I was able to make the embarassingly simple fix and avoid the service call. We appreciate the professionalism shown by ADS!

Mike was on time and fixed the problem very quickly. He also lubed everything and gave a safety inspection. He was very nice and helpful. He answered all the questions that I had. I was very happy with the work that was done.

Did a variety of maintenance procedures. Overall, I was satisfied.

$75.00 Service call (credited to $339.00 replacement cost). Tech was very knowledgeable and was on-time. He (Mike) first thought that a circuit board was the problem, but upon further inspection found that the motor housing had cracked. He gave me the choice of replacing the part (about $35.00) or replacing the entire unit. I opted to replace the unit. Replacement unit is a LiftMaster Model 3220 1/2 HP screw drive garage door opener. I will call ADS in the future if I have garage door requirements.
