Terrible. The work was done in 2013 and the spring broke 2 days ago. Parts warranty only good for 90 days. Garage Door Medic was able to come and do the repair work (and they did a fantastic job). We learned the wrong size spring had been installed. This caused the the bar to bow. Also, the rollers were not adjusted properly and the cable was close to breaking. Lastly, they installed the safety motion detector (that prevents the door from closing on someone/thing), was installed ON THE CEILING, next the to motor.. We knew we didn't have a sensor but didn't realize we actually did and it was placed in the most ridiculous spot. Avoid this company. they don't know what they are doing

When he FINALLY called back about a week later. He made the appointment and came over...Looked at the opener and didn't service the springs, rollers etc which I thought he was suppose to do for $49.00. He said we needed $$548 worth of work done. I got new batteries for the remote and the problem we were having is solved. I think he just wanted to sell us new springs bearings and rollers. not sure of the date as he did not put it on the receipt..

We contacted this contractor via e-mail on their web site. Charlie Murello got back to us fairly quickly - it was the weekend. His estimate was about $200 higher than 6 other contractors we contacted for the same services and the same door. We went with one of them.

By that time, my garage door needed more than a tune-up and I needed it serviced ASAP. I phoned a local garage door company and they set an appointment for 11am. He did an excellent job and I will write a separate review of them.
Description of Work: The provider didn't do anything! The deal was $49 for a garage door tune-up. They phoned me the day after I had signed up and paid the $49. I was told that the man who covered North County calls was on vacation until10/18. She told me there would be a $59 trip charge in addition to the $49. I refused to pay it and she left the phone to talk to someone and came back to the phone and said they'd remove the trip charge..It was obvious that she didn't want to bother with me and I told her I could wait until 10/18. So the appointment was set for 10/18, 8-10 am. No one had showed by 10 am, so I called the office to see what had happened. The woman then tells me their North County tech no longer works for them. I told her to refund my money.

They were supposed to do a 24 point check. He basically just came and sprayed the hinges. Both attempts to see if it was working properly failed. I contacted another service provider regarding the problem and they were amazed that the previous did not see the issue.

It worked out fine! There were no extra charges beyond the big deal amount. It was what we expected. It was inexpensive. They called right away and made an appointment for the next day and were available. It was all satisfactory. I think we had them come out for something else that we were looking at.

The service technicians arrived promptly and were very courteous. They gave me an estimate of $499. After the springs were installed, they gave me a total bill of $600.This was in addition to what I paid Angie's List. I thought this was excessive but I didn't know for sure. I later check the internet to find out what was a reasonable cost for this service. The consensus was that $300-$350 was reasonable. After inspecting the bill closer, I realized then that they had charged me again for the service call. I called them about this the same day. No response. After 2 more phone calls, I finally got a message that the and quot;check was in the mail.and quot; That was about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Yesterday, June 20, I finally was reimbursed $49.00, which was the amount I originally paid Angie's List for the service call.
Description of Work: Replaced 2 springs in my garage door. I can't actually comment on the quality of the work because I am not qualified to make that judgment.

It was my first time. I didn't read the small print. So they did what they said they would do but it wasn't what I was hoping they would do. It's not their fault. There could have been additional charges but we opted not. We were looking more for some programming with the door opener and hooking it up with our automatic coding system. But everything they did made the door work better. It turned out well and met my expectations. They came when they said they would. They did what they said they would.
Description of Work: I used a big deal purchase for Access Garage Doors. They like lubricated the wheels and tracks. It's kind of like a tune-up really. They changed the rollers.

I had an unexpected delay at work that would prevent me from keeping our appointment. I called Access and they were able to reschedule our appointment for 2 hours later. I highly recommend Access Custom doors.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. We were not satisfied with the results. It is still making a loud squealing noise. He oiled it and it stopped doing it for about 3 days. He was courteous and efficient. It was not a bad experience when it happened but he did not solve the problem. The price was excellent with the deal.

When I called Access, I was greeted by a friendly voice. When I mentioned that I had found the company on Angie's list, she recommended that I look at the 2 and quot;Big Dealand quot; coupons that were available. One coupon was 10% off the service. The second was a reduction of the service call to $49. Access does charge $89 for any service call. I did ask if she could give me some pricing on the phone since I knew what the issue was, but she was unable to provide this information. I opted for the service call reduction coupon thinking that the job would be about $300 to $400. We scheduled for the next morning. Next morning they arrived in the time frame that was given to me. They immediately diagnosed the problem and quoted me the following: $175/each on the Heavy Duty Torsion Springs = $350 $150 for the Heavy Duty Torsion Bar $43 for freight It all came out to $543. This does not include the $49 paid the day earlier. I was bit surprised at the price. Basically, the prevailing attitude was and quot;take it or leave it.and quot; Since I was already invested in Access and need the job done ASAP, I told them to get it done. They finished the job in less than a 1/2 hour. They did not charge me for the labor. In the end, I am happy that they were responsive and got the job done quickly. The door works great. BUT, next time I will shop around for better pricing. Time will tell if the money spent on the and quot;Heavy Dutyand quot; springs and torsion bar was worth it.
Description of Work: The torsion spring in my garage snapped in two. As a result, I was unable to open the garage door, even with automatic door opener disengaged. I went onto Angie's list to look up a recommended garage door company and Access was the first one listed. Under normal circumstances, I would normally gather 3 bids, however, due to schedules and the need to have this door repaired ASAP, I went with Access strictly based on their reviews and Angie's accolades for the company. They arrived within the time period that was quoted. They finished the job in less than 1/2 hour. New torsion spring and bar were installed.

POORLY. I WILL NEVER CALL THIS COMPANY AGAIN.
Description of Work: I called to schedule a service repair on a garage door they had installed a year ago. I was informed it was out of warranty and would cost me $89 JUST FOR THE GUY TO SHOW UP, and not do anything. IF there was anything to be done, and there was, or else why would I be calling them in for service, it would cost additional to that. Basically, it costs $89 for them to come and stand there at your house doing nothing. Well, my garage door needed repair, so I scheduled them. It was originally scheduled for today from 1-3 PM. HOWEVER, at 9 AM this morning I received a call from Jennifer who said that they had to change my time to 9:45 AM this morning (45 min from that time). I told her that she can't expect to change the schedule on me and expect me to be available. I am unable this morning. At that point JENNIFER HUNG UP ON ME! Extremely RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL. Making the last minute change and expecting the customer to abide by THEIR SCHEDULE is rude and poor customer service as it is, but to HANG UP ON A CUSTOMER???? What kind of customer service is THAT???

Easy to schedule. Haven't yet seen the results. They advised me to return the Big Deal because they couldn't apply it to the other work they quoted.
Description of Work: The Deal was for a garage door tune-up, but they said it wouldn't fix the problem. It was the motor was too weak to work any more, so they were going to replace the motor, remotes, and keypad.

They were incredible, and I was really surprised. The guy I called said he would be here the next day. He called me beforehand. He arrived exactly when he was supposed to and did the job. He offered to clean up after himself, and I told him it wasn't necessary because I was going to be sweeping anyway. It cost me $10 less than what the owner had quoted me as an approximate. They told me that I didn't really need new doors at that point, but that when I was ready to do that I should stop by at their big showroom and see what they had to offer. There was no pressure. They were incredibly efficient. I couldn't recommend them more highly. When I decide to get my new doors, I will definitely call them first.

We worked with Pat at All Access and he was very helpful and patient while we researched other garage doors and companies and frequently called him or stopped by the showroom with more questions. For us, because of the cost involved, it was a long process in making the final decision to purchase a solid wood door. The door itself is gorgeous. It was beautiful unfinished, and just as beautiful with the stain finish. Our biggest heartache was with the installers. They did not pay attention to detail, nor did they bring a stud finder with them, so we had numerous extra holes in our drywall. We had John from installation and his door adjuster come to our home a few times after the initial installation to patch the holes and make some detail adjustments; all which could have been avoided if they had just taken their time and paid attention during the installation process. All Access recommended Garth to stain and finish the door. He was excellent in helping us make the stain color choice, he was prompt, neat and did a wonderful job. We have received many compliments on our door. You can't go wrong purchasing a new garage door from All Access. The showroom is great and is very helpful in making the decision in what you like and price comparison for the quality of door. I DO suggest being present during installation and question everything the installers are doing. If you are not satisfied, have them fix it on the spot. It will save you a lot of time in making phone calls, leaving messages and waiting for return calls and service.

I went personally to get an estimate, they told me it would be about $1000 for a steel garage door. They could only give me a firm estimate if they came to the house and measure, and to call when I was ready. I called 1 month later, and they gave me another estimate over the phone. It turns out it was not necessary to come by the house. This time the estimate was double the price at $2000. This was unacceptable.
Description of Work: They gave me an estimate for the garage door. The first time the company gave the estimate for $1000. The second estimate a month later over the phone for the same door was around $2000.
