Abraxas is AMAZING! The furniture almost looks new. They tightened the joints, replaced and/or repaired parts that were broken, stripped them of their many coats of varnish, shellac, and other stains. In the case of the commode, I wanted to stain it another color -- I was stunned. It looks wonderful and is now a storage for sunblock, umbrellas, and hats in my front hall. The chair stain color remained the same as I requested, and the cane was replaced perfectly. In their shop, I've seen lots of different furniture and quot;erasand quot; -- from my grandparents' maple chair from the 1880's to a 50's era Barcelona chair (a chair designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich) from one of the original workshops. Abraxas is not just good, they are great! A bit pricy, but in this case, you get what you pay for. I will never trust another company with my precious and quot;oldies, but goodies.and quot;

All went smoothly. It took a little longer than estimated, but I was not in a hurry so that was ok.

It was terrific, as usual. Where can you find someone to come to your home and repair damage to your kitchen cabinets or furniture! They are wonderful. I had a cedar chest refinished by them last year. It was beautiful.

They were professional and did the work in the time frame estimated, for the estimated price. The fibre rush seats had matching backs that did not need replacement; both the backs and the seats had been painted a white followed by a coat of pink so long ago the finish had faded to a fine patina. The replacement rush was not painted, but after they varnished it it blends beautifully with the chair backs.

Abraxas is the only company in the San Diego area that I have found capable of repairing these particular Maguire rattan chairs as the craftsmanship is very complex. They repaired it within the 2-3 weeks they said it would take, called when it was finished, and did an excellent job. It was a little expensive, but well worth it in the long run.

ONE OF THE ONLY PLACES IN TOWN THAT RE-CANES FURNITURE. THEY ALSO RESTORE ALL KINDS OF FURNITURE. IT IS A LITTLE EXPENSIVE BUT IF THE FURNITURE IS GOOD, IT IS WORTH IT.
