THIS CONTRACTOR WAS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL, THE JOB WENT ON FOR 18 MONTHS AND I AM NOW FINDING MAJOR CONSTRUCTION DEFECTS ON MY HOME. I HAVE CONTACTED THE CONTRACTORS STATE LICENSE BOARD AND THE BBB AND AM HOPING THEY CAN HELP ME AND IF NOT MY LAWYER WILL BE GETTING INVOLVED. THIS INDIVIDUAL IS EXTREMELY CONTROLLING, HAS A MAJOR TEMPER AND IS ONLY IN HIS LINE OF WORK FOR 2 REASONS. TO MAKE AS MUCH MONEY AS HE CAN AND TO DO THE WORST JOB HE CAN AND STILL STAY IN BUSINESS. HE IS NOT A HANDS ON CONTRACTOR AND NEVER EVEN DID A FINAL WALK THROUGH WITH ME AT THE END. HE IS IN COMPLETE DENIAL THAT MY PROBLEMS EXIST. HE ONLY CARED ABOUT GETTING HIS MONEY. AFTER PAYING HIM $322,000.00 HE THEN PUT A MECHANICS LIEN ON MY HOME JUST TO GET THE OTHER $21,000.00. I TOLD HIM I WOULD HAPPILY PAY HIM WHEN HE RESOLVED MY PROBLEMS, BUT HE NEVER DID. HE GOT HIS MONEY ANYWAY THROUGH THE REFI AND I HAVE NEVER HEARD FROM HIM ABOUT CORRECTING MY PROBLEMS.
Description of Work: 1300 SQUARE FOOT ADDITION TO EXISTING HOME AND 550 SQUARE FOOT GARAGE.

We have and continue to extend every professional courtesy to your member. Claims of "major construction defects" are unsubstantiated and not legitimate, and we continue to warranty our work. Architectural engineering services were the responsibility of the owner. The engineered foundation drawings were provided to us in March 2005. Work was substantially complete by February 2006 and the owner began living in the addition at that time. His recent personal attacks are not representative of the working relationship we enjoyed throughout the course of construction and up until late February 2006. His failure to make the final progress payment resulted in a mechanics lien being placed on the property, as is consistent with the standard construction industry practice. Throughout the job he failed to make timely payments, and short-paid several invoices. He failed to make the previously scheduled final walk-through meetings with the stucco, drywall, and painting sub-contractors. The deck supporting pillars were constructed in accordance with the engineered drawings and there is an overflow drain installed on the covered deck. The credit for the laundry tub installation is $200, per the contract and written documentation by the plumbing sub-contractor. David Cohen, President, Aaron Industries
