We shopped around for installers of wood-look tile for over 3 weeks. A&L tile were the cheapest bidder for the job we wanted, but also the exemplar job they let us see was of great quality, so we decided to go with them. They did a decent job installing the tiles all over our house. However, they quite unprofessional and unresponsive to phone calls. At first, most of the communications was via email with Bonnie, the admin person of the business. She was good at responding to emails to schedule start date, etc. Once the job started, however, we wanted to directly communicate with them by phone, and it was impossible! We left messages and it took at least a day or 2 to hear back. Finally we managed to get the cell phone number of Cesar, the store owner. Again, communication with him is a nightmare. When there are hiccups at the job site, such as the pattern that the installers laid out at first was not what we wanted, we called Cesar several times and never heard back. Luckily the installer (Roger) was responsive to our input. Then Roger got sick, and did not show up for 2 days. We didn't hear anything from Cesar, and called him on the second day that Roger missed work, and he then informed us that Roger was sick. We scheduled a meeting with him to ask him about grouts, since we don't know much and would like some information when we picked out grouts. Again, we were never able to meet with him in person, due to the fact that he's too busy at other job sites! So when everything was close to completion, he just kindda told my husband over the phone to get whatever grout of our likings. Furthermore, he told us that everything would be done by a certain day. Two days before the promise date, we stopped by the house and talked to the installers. They then told us that it would be impossible to finish as promised, and that the boss said one thing but the boss did not understand the scope of the work. I was almost in tears, because we needed the house done to move in that week! Needless to say, they were finished 1.5 days later than expected. Overall, we had a really bad experience working with them. The cost of the work and the work itself were decent, but all the headaches and frustrations we had to go through in dealing with Cesar and the team made it all so unbearable. Needless to say, we will never use them again for any future remodeling work!
