John (is highly volatile) and Mike (is actually the friendly one). They tried to focus on the details, provided recommendations on placement, and planned the job to avoid any unneccesary holes in the ceiling and walls so we didn't have to patch afterwards. All, good qualities, however when it came to the final finishing work, John was very unreliable. It took 5 visits until they completed the work, they didn't stand behind their work and overall they left us high and dry when the equipment malfunctioned. When you interview John you'll notice his odd behavior, when troubles occur you'll observer his agressive behavior. Be cautious.

We contacted them from Angie's List. They called back the next day, scheduled time to come look at the job and provided an estimate. Part of that estimate was a center channel speaker (which we were missing) and a stand for the TV. They then showed up on time, worked around the movers, and completed the job on time. They did have to come back to install another cable, but that was because I wanted to move my subwoofer further away from the TV. They are a high energy pair! They know what they are doing and will get right to it. I enjoyed working with them and plan to do so again.

They were very nice and understanding people. They did a great job in helping me out with what I needed for my CD player. They knew exactly what they were doing and I would certainly call them again.

My husband originally found Theater Works through Angie's List and they installed our home theater system with a large projection screen, and also some surround sound systems for us along with some internet WIFI work, and did better than we could even have expected. Although honestly, I cannot recall the exact pricing, it was worth every cent. The professionalism, honesty and good humor made it a pleasurable experience for us. Mike and John were super friendly and the pair worked together perfectly if an issue came up, and the problem was solved quickly and accurately. I have no complaints with this duo. They are the only ones I would ever have come back to do another media job. Trustworthy and professional, and super knowledgeable and friendly, you can't go wrong. Fantastic! They are great to work with, prompt, courteous and gave me a great deal. They are fun to have around.

They arrived on time for the consultation, listened carefully to what I wanted, assessed what I already had in place and made reasonable (not top-end if I didn't want it) recommendations for what would accomplish my goals. They also made suggestions for possibilities that I had not considered -- some were not appropriate, others were, and they never pushed to do something I didn't want. They were price conscious yet also quality conscious. They didn't want to install crap but they didn't want to give me more than I needed, either. They have very definite opinions about what is good and what isn't in the market today, but they didn't insist on those options. I also trust their years of experience in this field, which was evident in their consultation and their work at the house. As it turns out, they ran into some structural difficulties with my 1950s era house, which they hadn't anticipated (weird wall construction) but they totally went with it, worked around as the problems, and managed to find solutions to every twist and turn. They also were generous in shaving off cost estimates when problems emerged that weren't my fault (and not theirs either), which they needn't have done, but they did anyway. They are clearly committed to making customers happy. I really like these guys. They listen. They do what they say they will do. And they are, in my experience, very reasonably priced. If you want any work at all done on home theater or audio systems, these are the guys to do it.

We were overwhelmed with all the choices for getting a new TV system. We like to buy something good and expect it to last. John and Mike helped us narrow the choices down to a few then got us a good price on everything. They hooked up everything and connected it all to the satellite, to Netflix, to the computer and programmed a new remote so we only need one now instead of five. They also did some updating on our other TV with the remote and reduced the tangled mess of cords and cables. We asked for some adjustments after learning the system for a few months and they were again very helpful. We had also been expecting to replace our old 56" TV which was not working correctly. It had been examined by a couple service people who said it couldn't be fixed. John made a simple adjustment to how the subtitles were being displayed and saved us a few thousand dollars. We like to think he didn't lose that sale but merely postponed it, gaining a happy customer. Our son purchased a new TV from them after our experience and we will go to them again when we're ready to update our other TV.

Bottom line: These guys are REALLY GOOD. They know sound, they know video and they know equipment. Best of all?.they LISTEN to the client. John and Mike want to implement what YOU want, not what they think they can sell you. They?re ON TIME, EVERY TIME. And they are neat, always cleaning up the work area between visits. Finally, they are a full-service outfit. As John says, ?If it has a plug, we sell it.?

My house was completed 3 months ago. I am very happy to say that I am truly enjoying the system. I love being able to run my ipod off it, as well as being able to sit in the backyard with my remote listening to the tunes. I would strongly recommend Mike and John for any job. I did have them come back for some fine tuning but overall have been completely happy.

I decided to use Theater Works for several reasons. First, John and Mike are a small customer service oriented operation and I prefer the small business approach. Plus, they're just nice guys, too! Early on, they spent time with me advising on equipment, walking through my home with ideas and not being clock watchers. Secondly, they are extremely competitive on their equipment and labor pricing. We were able to complete the entire install, giving me what I ultimately wanted and within my budget. They are also very mindful of protecting your home, as I had just had major refreshing done to the house such as interior and exterior painting and refinished hardwood floors. I questioned them on the ability to install the speakers after the painting was completed but they assured me that they would not leave fingerprints on the ceiling, and they didn't. I am a San Francisco based Realtor and will be very comfortable referring Theater Works to all my interested clients.

Mike & John were great. They installed a 32'' LCD in my office that swings over 180 degrees and can be viewed from my office and my living room! I have HDTV with digital audio in the living room and the perfect PC monitor in the office, all from one display... and the guys were awesome at Theater Works TV!!

Mike & John were very prompt and professional. They upgraded my rooftop DirecTV dish and found a clean wire run to my 3 TIVOs and to a power supply needed to run all 6 signals on the switch. Everything works great, and they charged me less than the estimate!!
