Geek Squad - Best Buy

It was a frustrating nightmare. Their own estimate was 4 days. It actually took just over 2 weeks. Every day after the estimated date of completion, I was told "one more day"--or "later today". The frustrating part was that they do not answer their telephones. They tell people to call, then do not answer the phones. This means a trip into the store every day only to find that it is not ready. All the time I waited in line in the store and talked to them, I could hear the phone ringing constantly. Other people just as frustrated as I was!! I could have been patient if they would only answer the phone and tell me the truth. I am sure that they did not even start on my computer until close to the end of the 2 weeks. They did not tell me the truth. Very poor customer service.

Fairly helpful. Wanted a new home stereo with easy to use ipod links and limited wires and components. The recommendation was good and I am happy with the way it sounds.

THIS MAY SOUND TRIVIAL, BUT I'VE BEEN DOING COMPUTER TECH SUPPORT FOR 10 YEARS, AND EVERYONE ELSE I TALKED TO ABOUT THIS AFTERWARD HAD NEVER HEARD OF IT. I DID ALL KINDS OF RE-INSTALLATION OF KEYBOARD DRIVERS AND SYSTEM RESTORE AND SEARCH ONLINE HELP: NADA. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT THE GUYS AT THE GENIUS BAR AT APPLE STORES KNOW THEIR STUFF, BUT WHO KNEW THE BEST BUY TEAM IN SAN CARLOS HAS SOME SAVVY? THIS COMPLETELY CONTRASTS WITH EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD FOR YEARS AT OTHER LARGE CHAIN COMPUTER DISCOUNT STORES==>GARBAGE TECH SUPPORT.

THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. THEY ARE NOT VERY HELPFUL, AND IT TAKES THE TECHNICIANS AN EXTREMELY LONG TIME TO EVEN GET THROUGH THE LINE TO TELL THEM WHAT YOU NEED DONE. THEY ARE VERY RUDE.

THE BEST BUY IN HOME REPAIR WAS PROMPT AND COURTEOUS. THEY TOLD ME WHAT WAS WRONG AND FIXED IT. I DID HAVE ONE PROBLEM IN THAT I HAD CALLED ON BOTH THE WASHER AND DRYER, BUT THEY ONLY HAD THIS GENTLEMAN LOOKING AT THE WASHER AND SAID THAT THE OTHER TECH WOULD CHECK THE DRYER. I CALLED THE COMPANY WHILE HE WAS THERE AND EXPLAINED THAT WE NEEDED BOTH (WITH 5 KIDS) FIXED AND THEY SPOKE WITH HIM TO OK HIM WORKING ON THE DRYER. HE WAS ABLE TO FIX THAT TOO.

THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE OF THE SERVICE WAS WHAT I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED. THEY DID THE PROJECT IN A TIMELY FASHION AND THE SYSTEMS WORKED AS THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO.
