Description of Work: Laura was the selling agent for my friend and client. The seller pays the real estate commission, not the buyer, and the amount entered here was the amount the seller paid and was split between the selling and buying agents. Laura found a great home at a great price in a neighborhood that was perfect. The home was in good condition but needed modernizing. It has panoramic views which was not on the list of "must haves" but they make the house spectacular. Laura referred landscapers, flooring and general contractors so the house could be updated to my friends tastes.

Description of Work: I used Laura Bertolacci for the second time in 2 years to represent my interests in selling a house. Today's Sotheby's now owns the ReMax Agency for whom she worked last year, and though it was my first time with this agency, I knew Laura got outstanding results, and Sotheby's is reputed to be upscale and professional. My husband and I are separating so I watched Laura deal with us individually and fairly. I was impressed with her ability to listen for as long as it took, to teach, to connect with my engineer-husband's need to understand, and to respect our individual priorities. Our house was in a prime location for Silicon Valley employers in Santa Clara County, and Laura supplied us proof, and then delivered, that she knew how to market using multiple formats of electronic media. Another thing that sets Laura apart from other agents is her "posse" of professional resources: licensed contractor, painters, landscapers, staging company, and flooring experts. We had the house painted, hardwood floors and new carpet installed, complete remodeling of the kitchen with cabinets, floor, and granite counters, remodeling of one bathroom, updated electrical work, landscaping, and staging. We turned over stylistic decisions to the experts, avoiding having to shop or oversee how the work was done. Because Laura works with these experts all the time, they do excellent work wanting her repeat business. We were thrilled with the results, and that we were freed to work on emptying a house we owned for over 20 years. The house looked fantastic for the open house, which was well publicized. It reached the market we hoped and received three offers over the asking price within the first week. Laura helped us pick the best and select a back-up offer.

Description of Work: I selected Laura as the best agent to sell a house I inherited in Foster City after viewing her website and conducting two interviews. Laura advised me on the pros & cons of selling/renting, selling now or in 6 months, and which upgrades would lead to a better sale. She lined up inspections and further inspections after structural damage was discovered, and interfaced with experts on my behalf. She suggested possibilities when I was stuck deciding how to empty the house and freely offered her list of painters, contractors, and yard gurus. She monitored their work and their invoices, and when possible, allowed some expenses to be held for escrow. Laura loves the analysis part of her job, using the latest technology to stay on top of movements in the housing market. In spite of marketing a house sold as is, during the Thanksgiving/Christmas time frame, she obtained a wonderful outcome for me.
