I had issues with water flooding into my garage (where the floor is maybe two feet below ground level) and called a number of companies to take a look. It took a little while to initially get hold of him, but Bob definitely seemed to be the most knowledgeable and was extremely thorough in assessing the situation and mapping out his solution. He took me to his workshop where he showed me a model of what the work would look like and walked me through the materials that would be used. His team arrived on time and did the work within the timeline they had proposed - they were incredibly clean and efficient, and I have absolutely no complaints about the job that they did. It was definitely not the cheapest quote, but after all of the El Nino storms I can happily say that it was well worth the price.

When they opened up my house in the middle of a storm, they subjected it to flooding and cold. I could not combat the cold or the flooding. This caused my husband to get pneumonia, which in ten and half months lead to his death. They never finished the job. They came back to get their tools and materials and swore at me and threatened me.

I have used Dobel Construction several times over the last 7 years. The first time I used Dobel Construction was after my original sump pump system failed and water backed up into my crawlspace. I wanted to make sure that I would never have that problem again and spoke to at least 5 contractors to find the best. Bob was by far the most knowledgeable and came up with the most creative solution. I cannot say enough about his expertise when it comes to drainage systems and pumps - he has a lot of experience in this area, and if he hasn't seen it/done it before, he is very smart and will figure out a solution. We have not had any problems since he installed our new system. Over the years, we have used Dobel on some miscellaneous repairs and to advice us on drainage when we redid our landscaping and retaining walls. Dobel Construction is not the cheapest contractor, but you are paying for their expertise.

We will never know --- the bid that was promised to us was never received. We could not wait any longer and went with someone else. It's a shame - we really liked Bob and he had some very good thoughts and ideas.

During the estimate visit, he discussed options, costs, pros and cons. He was perfectly professional and knowledgeable. His folks came out on time and finished the job without any trouble at all. This may seem like a small thing, but to say we had NO trouble at all is really saying something for me. We had other folks telling us we needed to get a sump pump, but Dobel calculated the drop that we had and determined that it wasn't necessary. Now, a number of rainy years later, I can say that he was absolutely correct. At one point during the process they checked with me on the exact placement I wanted for the actual drains, but other than that, there was no hassle whatsoever. They showed up when they said they would, and finished exactly when they said. The price charged was the price quoted. And it works! Our experience with this particular company still stands out in my mind as a model of what a perfect contractor is. I'd hire them again in an instant if I needed any work done. Absolutely quality all the way.

He is very honest and really knows his stuff. He would not take any money for coming out. I was even trying to give him $20 and he would not take it. There would have had to been drainage canals dug, among other major things. He said that it would be quite expensive to take care of everything that should be done, and right now, because of my age, it would not be worth all of that.
