Description of Work: The technician did not have any parts with him when he came to analyze the dishwasher problem, and didn't seem to be familiar with this brand (Miele). When he returned with the part, he took a long time to install it because of his unfamiliarity with this dishwasher. It didn't solve the problem, and he said he needed to order another part. We decided that was enough and stopped the work.

Description of Work: Came out but did not pull dishwasher out to examine. Said the leak was coming from rubber surrounding door. For a total of $187.00 they would return with part and install. When I questioned the amount of charge the repairman said it was because of advertising and administrative costs. The part was about $16.00 but if I bought it would be 4x that much as they got special discounts. I went online and purchased for $11.00 with tax and shipping was $16.00. I called and cancelled Bay Appliances return visit. I installed myself. Still had leak, called Bay Appliance twice to return. Second time talked with woman and she said she would have to talk with her supervisor to see if they would come out. They never called back. I called another service and repairman came out, pulled dishwasher out and there was broken part on top, he replaced and fixed for just over $100.00. I would never ever use Bay Appliance again.

Description of Work: We needed repairs on our Dacor ovens and warming drawer. Jaime was punctual and knowledgeable regarding what was needed to fix the problems. This involved ordering parts. When the parts came in he called right away and we arranged a time for him to return, which he did. There were some frustrations with this job which he handled well (wrong part sent, another part no longer made) and he handled them professionally. In addition, it turned out one of the ovens ended up working properly after the first one was fixed, so he told us that and didn't do that repair unnecessarily, even though he had already ordered the part, which I appreciated..

Description of Work: I've used Bay Appliance 2 times--both in July/2011: Initially they were selected/sent by my Home Protection Plan (HPP)--American Home Shield--to repair my 20+ year old SubZero that evidenced water in the bottom of the refrig. The tech, Jon, accurately diagnosed the problem--a clogged line that had never been cleaned in the 20+ years we have had the refrig., and quickly set to work removing/cleaning/reinstalling that plastic line--which was structurally sound. Then he was kind enough to remove/clean the collection tray beneath the refrig.--which is hard for me to remove/clean. He also vacuumed the refrig. motor compartment behind the grill at the top of the refrig.--where dust/debris collect. This service cost me $60--the service fee charge under my HPP plan. Jon was: punctual, knowledgeable, effective in remedying the problem, and friendly. I called my HPP and highly recommended they use Bay Appliance often for appliance service in the SF Bay area, and also reported my satisfaction with service on Yelp. The 2nd time I had an appliance problem, I asked American Home Shield to choose Bay Appliance for my repair. Gene Elin, Bay Appliance's owner, came on the service call. My housecleaner and I could not successfully get my Thermador bottom oven door to latch for self-cleaning, and we thought the lock was malfunctioning. Gene was able to demonstrate that it was functioning, showed me how to set the controls, and together we successfully initiated the oven's self-cleaning. That service was again $60 under my HPP plan. Gene is: punctual, knowledgeable, effective in remedying the problem, and friendly. I highly recommend Bay Appliance. They are a family operated business too. Gene's wife is the scheduler. She was very accomodating both times in securing a time that would work for me since I'm a Realtor with multiple appointments throughout the day. She gave me a window of 2 hours, but they were always at the very beginning of the window--which I highly appreciate. In total, that is how to operate a business!
