Mowbray Tree SVC

4 weeks ago I called Mowbrays to have an arborist look at a fig tree that needed to be trimmed. I was told that he would be out that week and call me with a report when he was done. I heard nothing. I waited until the middle of the next week thinking that maybe they were busy and would get to it in a few days. I called them back and was told that due to all of the fires in Northern California all of their techs were busy. No problem I think it is great that they are helping out with the fire and I understand things happen. I asked to rescheduled the following week as I was told the techs would be back in town. I set the appointment and again no one showed up, again I waited a few days, but nothing happened. I figured okay I will give them one last chance. I called them on Monday of this week, and was told by Jordan that they could come out the next day or on Wednesday and that as the arborist has an Ipad he would email me his evaluation and cost estimate that same day. I asked Jordan at this point why I should believe that they would actually show up, she assured me that it was just a mistake and promised they would be there. I set the appointment for Wednesday and again no one showed up. I called today and was told by Robin that they had been so busy and how sorry they were and how she understood that I might go elsewhere. At this point I asked to speak with a manager or the owner. Again Robin apologized and said that it was due to the fires, that their techs were busy. I asked her why if they were so busy did they bother to schedule an appointment and why, if they care about their customers, didnt they call to reschedule or cancel. She then stated that she believed that the arborist had been by on the second appointment but got lost. He tried to call me and left a message. I told her that I didnt receive any call or message. (I checked my phone just to make sure and found no message or call). Again I asked to speak to the manager and was informed that they werent in but I could leave a message. I told her never mind and hung up. With the horrible service that I recieved I find it quite sad that their website states the following: Mowbray?s Tree Service was established in 1972 and is family owned and operated. After almost 40 years, we still hold strong to our original commitment to excellence to provide our customers with quality tree care services. I had used Mowbrays 3 or 4 times over the last 5 years and I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt this time, as they had provided me with excellent service in the past. Given their lack of response I now believe that they are not commited or even care enough to provide quality tree service, or any service at all. If they treat other customers the way I was treated, they wont have to worry about being around for 40 more years.

We have used Mowbray's several time to thin the two native oak trees in our front yard. The trees are near the street and overhang the front of our house. Periodically they need to be trimmed away from the street and the roof. They did a great job thinning the oaks, cleaned the leaves off the roof and removed the debris.
