 + -1 moreDefinitely a good company. The first time I work with them was for an insurance claim when someone ran into my gate. The second time I needed help fixing my automatic iron driveway gate. Turns out it was an easy fix. They just had to adjust it a certain way and they were nice enough to do it for free. Will be calling again. 👍

 + 0 moreI was given an installation time of about 5 weeks from the time I met with Lucas. After 7 weeks I called to see what's going on. I was told they were very busy and running behind. The person I spoke to was very apologetic and offered to take $100 off the cost for the inconvenience. I thought that was very nice. Installation took place on a Saturday. The guys did not have the paperwork for the order, so they didn't know about the discount, and they forgot the locks and had to go back to get them. They did a great job of installing everything, and the fence looks really good! The workmanship on the fence and decorative trim is excellent!
Description of Work: I got a new wrought iron fence and gates to the back yard. They have privacy screens on them and are powder-coated in black.

Description of Work: In September 2011 I replaced a wooden gate with a metal gate which was designed, created, and installed by Cortez Ornamental Iron. The reason I am writing this belated review on how satisfied I am with this gate, is that I just noticed that after nearly 6 years in the outdoor elements of our Redlands climate, the gate looks as good as the day it was installed. This is a quality product that is made from scratch and contains an oven baked powder coating. The gate was designed with metal bars and mesh covering to allow pets to view beyond yet provide security. The workmanship is outstanding. This is a local company that I highly recommend.

 + -1 moreCortez Ornamental Iron installed two gates for me in late March, 2016. Lucas’s expertise and attention to detail was outstanding. The gates were delivered on time and are beautiful. Thanks to Lucas’s recommendation, I opted for the “oak tree” pattern and absolutely love the gates. They provide needed privacy while enhancing my home. Cortez also painted an existing wrought iron fence and gate which separates my side yard from the backyard. They were very professional and took care not to get paint on the masonry foundation and columns. The workmanship was superb; well worth the price. I highly recommend Cortez Ornamental Iron for your wrought iron needs.

 + 0 moreHe was overall good. He is skilled and has good design ideas. Here is where I was unhappy: he kind of pressured me into accepting his bid even though he knew I had another vendor coming that afternoon. I would say that is why he pressured me. I agreed (I had the choice, I could have not agreed) and of course, the other bid came in lower. I called him and asked him to match the bid, but he would not have any of it. Since I had given my word on the agreed amount, I went ahead and completed the deal. The work is good and I have no complaints about that. I would not use him again because of the bid thing.

Description of Work: We needed to secure a carport area with an automated gate. We needed something that would compliment the architecture of our home, not detract from it. Lucas, the owner, and his son designed the absolutely, most perfect Ironwork gate we had seen. The gate is powder coated because we hated to see ironwork around the city that needed painting. The welds where absolutely perfect, everyone one them. The artwork pattern was perfect and demonstrated a high skill level. The gate utilized a state of the art controller and motor. When the 500 pound gate opens and closes, it is silent. The electrical current used is that of my laptop. The installation was flawless. We wanted a gate he provided a work of art. The best thing was his professionalism. I have had to work with many contractors over my lifetime. I have learned that they need to be babysat on everything. This was a true pleasure not to have to babysit Lucas. His family has had many businesses in our city over the past at least 60 years, his family should be proud of Lucas and his family.

 + 0 moreI have hired contractors and handymen of all types though out the years for my properties. The time that it takes to weed out the bad from the good, is tremendous, not to mention the cost. Once you find the good ones, never ever let them go. I would rather pay more for quality and someone I can trust, the go for the lowest bid or an unknown person. After awhile you get good at assessments on the first contact. If the person on the phone can not gain your trust, does not know the information or is hesitant in any way, your most likely wasting your time and money. I used to think, they will be better in person so give them a chance. That does not work at all. This company was excellent overall on the first impression. I will post again.
Description of Work: I have a need for an Ornamental Iron Driveway Gate. I called four companies in order to setup a scheduled estimate. This was the first company I called. That set the standard for me. The other three companies I called for estimate's did not even come close tot he the professional level that this company did. I will have only two of the remaining three give me an estimate. I will post again the results.
