Antimite Termite & Pest Control

Great. They did the estimated work and more. The repairs are excellent and not detectable. The cost was equal to the estimate. I am very satisfied.

I was hearing noises in my attic. Bill from Antimite came out many times adding more and more traps under my house and in the attic, plus checking for entry points. We finally got control of the rat situation. He had a good attitude and came whenever I phoned. I'm really relieved this problem was rectified!

I used Antimite for 7 years. At first they seemed to do a good job, but in the past year they became non-responsive regarding some regular (monthly) duties. They would come without telling us they (he) was there. Spent 5 minutes spraying around the house outside and left leaving only a note on the front door jamb letting us knew they had come. The note always said we were not home, but we were. Inspite of numerous calls to them the spiders and their webs proliferated on our patio. After no response to our numerous phone calls, we cancelled the service

There are several gentlemen who come out and spray in my house. They are conscientious. They come once in every month. Ever since I have used them I don?t have any problem. Whenever I had any problem they nipped them in the bud. Mostly I had problems with the ants and the cockroaches. I pay a less amount as I have been with them for many years. I started to pay them $20 seven years ago and now I pay $30 but the going rate is $35. I have been given a good price as I have been with them for 7 years. I live in an area which was once upon a time an orange groove. So the soil is just rapid with the ants and I live in a wood sided house so they would go up to the soil in between the frame work and the wood siding. It then goes into the roof line into the wood beams and then they would come into my house. So I had to nip them in the bud. It?s cost effective for me to use Antimite Termite and it has also been good for us health wise too. I am able to live with the chemicals that they put outside. I was at a stage where I either was going to move out of the house or let them put the pesticide outside. Every time it rained I had to clean up for about an hour or two because there were six wide freeways of ants in my house. The ants were all over the place. It was time consuming to deal with the ants. I tried everything and it got a point where it was too much for me to handle so I went with Antimite Termite.

The work went well. The dry rot was found mostly in the quarter round used as decorative trim. Once that was removed only two windows had some rot that went into the redwood sill. That rotten wood was dug out and removed and Bondo was used to build up the sill. I used Antimite for this job because I had checked with the window installers and they said they would not repair any dry rot damaged areas. Since I did not know how extensive this issue was I decided to contract with Antimite and resolve any hidden issues prior to replacing the windows. I certainly did not want to have brand new windows in a sill that had mildew or other problems that would then become impossible or expensive to deal with later. I also had a termite inspection done and it was determined that I had signs of sub-terranean termites under the house. A couple of days later they were treated.

We have used them serveral years. If they spray, and a week later, we see bugs, they will come back and spray for free. We have been happy with this company. They are also pretty responsive.

Mike was friendly and helpful. However we discovered the following after tenting was completed. Our satellite dish and FM roof antenna were not properly repositioned after tarps were removed. This required a service call to the satellite company. The grass on the front lawn was burned in an area extending 2-3 feet out from the front of the house. It's been 4 months and it has not recovered. There was a two month delay in getting a replacement door for the hot water heater closet. While digging a trench for the tarp, the workman cut through a PVC water supply line to the sprinkler control. When the sprinklers came on with the timer at 5:30 am, there was a huge geyser shooting up from the cut pipe that could have done extensive damage to my and my neighbor's yard, if I had not discovered it and turned the water off. The company just filled in the soil, and never mentioned the damage, nor did they offer to reduce the price of the termite treatment to compensate for the cost of the pipe repair. This last problem was the "straw that broke the camel's back". I liked Mike very much, but for all the reasons above I cannot recommend Antimite of Long Beach.

They gave clear instructions and gave us bags to bag it all up. What a pain!!!!! Takes a lot of time be prepared for lots of prep work on your part before the contractor ever shows up. I don't care who the contractor is this is a big project. Make sure you coordinate with neighbors. It just helps if everybody is on board. The contractor's crew showed up on time and we moved out of the house for the weekend. They did just as they said and nothing was damaged. No problems. Everything went according to plan.

We noticed nests of subterranean termites in one room of the house. These had occurred earlier at a different site which we spot exterminated. Unfortunately, termites returned the following year. Estimates were high, termites "disappeared," so we did not address the issue at that time. However, they did reappear a third time. We obtained estimates from three companies. Antimite was one of two in the same price range, but it was the only company that included repair of damage in their estimate. All companies suggested we address the entire house rather than spot exterminating. Antimite explained the procedure they would use, including possible damage, and provided an estimate. They were not the lowest estimate, but they were prompt, extremely professional, and thoroughly went over the entire exterior of the house plus associated interior termite damage. They removed damaged wood and replaced it absolutely beautifully. When they found that our window frames were not stock, they researched a supplier and return after a day or two to replace the frame with the appropriate molding. They primed all wood for painting. It was evident that existing termites were exterminated, and we did not see any evidence of termites since that time. Were available by cell phone post-job for any questions--which we took advance of.

The inspection and the actual work required in the report was done satisfactorily, however during the exterior wood replacement and filling of wood surfaces damaged by termites, the woodworking crew caused significant, excessive and unnecessary damage to the concrete roof tiles where they had to walk on the roof over the garage. These woodworkers were untrained in walking on concrete tile roofs and broke approximately 100 tiles in this one section of the roof. This work was done the week before the actual tenting and fumigation of the house. Additional damage to the aluminum latticed patio cover was done during the tenting of the house, however the inspection report states that any damage caused by the fumigation crew putting the tarps in place is not their liability. After the woodwork was completed, I noticed the significant roof tile damage from my observations standing on ground level and looking out the master bedroom window. I told the company inspector, Steve after the fumigation about the damage caused by the woodworking crew earlier and he said he would look into it. He didn't get back to me so I called him the day the roofing contractor was doing the work. Steve returned my call the next day and came out later to see the repaired roof. The roofing contractor had observed the tile damage from the street level after the woodworking crew was complete and prior to the fumigation work. I hired the roofing contractor to inspect the roof and replace any broken tiles after the fumigation work was complete. After inspecting the entire roof he stated that the damage was caused primarily by the workers doing the woodwork over the garage area. He later told the Antimite District Manager Kevin in a phone conversation that in his opinion, at least 80% of the damage was caused by the woodworking crew prior to the fumigation. The roof inspection and repair cost me $750. Steve later brought Kevin out to look at the roof and damage to the patio cover. I explained to them that I thought the roof damage was excessive and was caused by their untrained workers. I told them that in addition, the damage was not caused during the fumigation process and therefore was not specifically excluded from the company's liability. Kevin asked me what it would take to settle this matter. I told him I would settle for 80% of the $750. I would go along with the roofing contractors opinion so I would exclude any incidental damage caused during the fumigation. Kevin said he would get back to me after he talked to his management. He called me later that day and said the company's position was that it didn't owe me any compensation because they have no liability for roof damage.

It was an excellent job. They responded quickly, gave us estimates quickly and they were spot on with everything they had to do. I have used them before & would use them again.

They were wonderful. They were on time. If there was a problem, they called. Great communication. They cleared some dry rot from our wooden balcony and replaced it, and painted. Went around the house and measured everything. Very nice guy. Paul did a great job.

Frank Delgado from Antimite came to our house to assess a need for termite fumigation. We had another company come to do an estimate, and we knew we had a problem. Antimite was the second opinion and they too told us we had a problem needing to be addressed right away. Frank took me around the house to show me where the termites were hiding in the wood and getting ready to "swarm". He pinched a piece of wood and a termite flew out! Of the two estimates we got, Antimite was $400 less, including a yearly pest control program (which the other company did not). Being that Antimite had been in business longer than the other company, and was also favorable with the BBB, we decided to use them. **My mom, a Realtor, has built a relationship with another Antimite rep, and has been referring them to her clients for years.** That made us feel even better! Frank and his team did a FANTASTIC job & were incredibly accommodating. They left our house in the exact same condition we left it!!

Mike Watts was wonderful. He was extremely helpful and professional. The price was exactly as he quoted and they even came the very next day to do the quote. I was happy altogether with the service.

Overall it was a positive experience. One comment: Termite companies are required to turn off your gas meter when your home is tented. Actually this means the gas company disconnects your meter from the gas line. After the tent is removed and you are able to return home, you must have the gas company reconnect your meter. Unfortunately we did not know this when we scheduled the fumigation. We returned home to find a note stating the gas company had to resume service. When we called to schedule the reconnect, the gas company could give us a 4 hour window appointment in a week, or an all day appointment the next day. Since we needed gas service to cook and for hot water, I had to take the next day off to wait for the gas company. It would be great to tell future customers that this is required. We would have scheduled the gas company in advance and would have saved taking time off from work. That said, Antimite was great. I would definitely use them again.

The exterminator was not rude, but not friendly. He just came out and did the spraying and then collected his check. I was like "That's it?" He said, "That's it." They did follow up 2 weeks later to make sure that the spraying worked, which was nice.

Horrible. When I called initially and told them I suspected I had a termite infestation and would like someone to come out and tell me if I was correct and how I could fix the problem, "Patricia" gave me a hard time wanting to know if i wanted to do an inspection (which would cost money) or an estimate. I told her that I wanted to know if I had a problem and what my options were to fix it and how much it would cost. Call it whatever you want. I told her that I was pretty sure the place needed to be tented but I needed a professional opinion. "Frank" called to schedule an appointment. He was two hours late and never said a word about being late when he arrived. He took out his tape measure, spent about 10 minutes measuring the building, gave me a brochure, a price to fumigate and left! He didn't bother to tell me what kind of infestation he found, what my options were or anything - he just measured the building and left. Not impressed and I won't be doing business with them.

I had a bee infestation, called Antimite Termite & Pest Control, they came when they promised, gave me an estimate for spraying to kill the bees, said it was extra to try to remove hive. I called other companies and EVERYONE said it was vital that the hive/honey be removed. Called Antimite back, they said that the bees shouldn't return and that there wasn't any problem with leaving hive. I don't think this company knows what they're talking about and had I taken their advice who knows what kind of damage my house would have sustained. Vendors shouldn't provide service or give advice that they're not qualified to give especially with something that could damage property.

I found out that this exterminating company was very good about coming out to provide same day service versus other company's that did not provide that extended service. The technician that provided the service let me know what the problem was and exactly how it started. The staff was friendly and helpful and even gave me a complimentary extermination for other pests at no charged and I was very impressed with that. There was a total of four visits involved and they always showed up in time. I was very pleased with their service.

The company representative did a very thorough inspection of the outside of the house/garage, inside of the house/garage, attic and under the house. The rep was very friendly, professional, and courteous. The inspection was free. A report was provided of the infested areas and proposed treatment. The report was not as complete as that provided by some other companies. In particular, it did not include details about the chemicals to be used in the treatment. This information was provided upon inquiry. Work was scheduled easily and completed on time, with good results. The property was left in good condition after both the subterranean treatment and the tenting. Payment was not due until completion of work. A good information packet was provided prior to tenting. Overall, it was a good experience.

There is no way anyone is going to do any of this in a neat way. Overall, they did a good job, but don't expect things to be neat and tidy when you get home. Plants are going to be stepped on, and items may be moved and not returned to original areas. Mike, the agent who over saw it all was fabulous, attentive, knowledgeable. He gave me the best price possible (and I got three other estimates)and everyone was on time and did a completely professional job.

I scheduled a number of termite companies' inspectors to visit my house at 1-1 1/2 hour intervals. One company came quite late and wound up overlapping with another company. It was at that time that I received a call from the Antimite inspector, Frank, saying that he was in front of my house and because there were other inspectors there he would be unable to do an inspection and I would have to reschedule. I hung up then looked at my notes and saw that he was one 1/2 hours EARLY! I rescheduled and when he came back the following week he arrived 45 minutes early, again when another inspector was still finishing up. Among Frank's first words was ''Getting a lot of estimates, huh?" He had a very bad attitude and was angry that I was looking at other companies. He only measured my house and left in 5 minutes, although there are unique problems here that he needed to see. I called the Antimite office to complain and was told that a manager would call back. They never did.

JC was the technician who did all the work except for the basement construction. Both he and the man who did the construction were great, punctual, polite, and did their jobs perfectly. The construction was an especially finished job. The only complaint was with the office who was supposed to schedule the 5 or 6 appointments. I had to call them every time except for the last one. They were polite but had trouble keeping things straight and at one point scheduled the wrong person on the wrong day. They said there were 2 new people, but this was over a span of a couple of months. Other than being my own receptionist, I really liked this company.
