Friendly efficient service, but very expensive. Based upon all of the comments I read about Zajic having great prices, I was floored to be charged almost 7 times what it would cost me to do it myself. With a $35 replacement icemaker mechanism and a screwdriver, I (or any homeowner) could easily have made this same repair in 10 minutes. You just have to unplug it and remove three screws. I foolishly decided that it would be nice just to hire someone to do it, then I wouldn't have to get the part myself. However, Zajic charged me $232 for the same 10-minute job and part. I think that writing up the invoice took longer than the job. I clearly should have pinned Zajic down on their prices before allowing them to send a service technician, but I don't know what would prompt anyone to claim that these are good prices. I was expecting the price to be about 3 times what it would cost me to do it myself, but this was almost 7 times the cost. I might still consider Zajic for certain types of work, but definitely not for anything that I can do myself.
Description of Work: Replace icemaker. Very simple task requiring the removal of three screws and unplugging the power.

Overall, our new appliances were held in their storage until my kitchen contractor needed them; my 1 year old dishwasher was eaten by rats (all of the plastic parts). They took it in, fixed it, and delivered it when the new kitchen was ready. I am extremely happy with everything about Zajic Appliances.
Description of Work: We have done business with Zajic for several years. We have bought most of our kitchen from them. Our newest purchase was a cook-top range and convection oven. They matched one of the giant store's prices without trying or knowing what it was. We have had old appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher, dryer) fixed with very little waiting. They are the best that we deal with.......for over 20 years.

Super Service, They accomodated our crazy schedule. Justin arrived and was quick to diagnose the problems, the part was ordered and again they accomodated our schedule to finish the repair. Justin returned with the part and even called the Manufacturers repair line to confirm the part was correct and was re-designed by Whirlpool.

Everything went great. A live, very nice person answered the phone when I called, got me an appointment quickly, and the serviceman was polite, professional, clean, and efficient.

It was a good experience even though we were without the oven for a few days. The dispatch people were very pleasant, as were the two gentlemen who worked on the appliances. We felt that they were proud of their Angie's List rating, and made sure that we were happy with the repairs. We felt the dishwasher information was an added bonus, and the repair still came in under the quote. My adult children were there throughout both repairs; and agreed that we had a great experience with Zajic's.
Description of Work: We have a six year old Bosch double oven that was malfunctioning. The top oven overheated by 40 to 50 degrees, and the bottom oven had a very noisy fan. We called Zajic's based on their Angie's List rating, and were very happy with the 2 service people we had and the repairs. We made the appointment, called the morning of the appointment to get a 2 hour window arrival; the repairman was prompt, and courteous. It did take 3 visits (all within 8 or 9 days) to pull out the oven, see what repair was needed, order the part, and install a new thermostat, and fan. The second gentleman that arrived to repair the stove told us what was wrong with the stove, thought he would need help in pulling out the stove from the cabinet, made sure he put the stove back in securely and cleaned up the area afterwards. He was very pleasant. The day of the actual repair, we had the first repairman again, he was able to fix both issues; and came in under the original $700.00 quote. We also had a broken Bosch dishwasher (it didn't drain); he pulled that out; realized that the dishwasher might have been recalled; went back to Zajic's, looked up the model number and serial number to confirm it had been recalled and said that Sears was contracted to service the dishwasher, and gave me the 800 number to call for a repair. Although the oven did need a third visit we felt confident that they were thorough and the dishwasher information was a huge help. Truly great service! We would recommend them and use them again ourselves without hesitation.

The phone call to set the appointment was handled professionally. The repairman was on time and helpful. He diagnosed and solved the problem by cleaning the internal connections to the control panel. He worked quickly and did not leave a mess. We appreciate that he did not try to sell us a more expensive new part that we did not need, and he was knowledgeable about the approximate cost of the part if and when it is needed. We would definitely use this company again for home appliance repair.

well, justin showed up on schedule. he listened, disassembled the washer, repaired it with a pump that he had on the truck (which with so many brands out there), i figured he wouldn't, but he did. anyways, justin was great to deal with and very pleasant. so now i know zajic appliances also works on everything else in the kitchen, so they're the ones i'll call from now on.
Description of Work: last week when i came home i found my wife troubleshooting our washing machine (manuals out, lights on everywhere, towels all over the laundry room floor)......(i was so proud!) anyways, the washer was pumping plenty of water into the washer, but refused to pump it out. i had heard of angie's list years back, but never joined. being fairly new to the area, i decided why not? so large appliance repair was the category i first searched. well zajic appliance had such a high rating, there really wasn't any other choice. i called right away and scheduled an appointment that worked perfect for me, and christopher was very accommodating, saying if anything came up, they would work with me.

The technician arrived on time and worked efficiently. He checked a number of appliances to be sure they were operating correctly and made several minor repairs. He also came up with an "outside the box" solution to fix my dishwasher doors, both of which wouldn't stay open because they hadn't been installed correctly. I was impressed with his creativity as well as his determination to find a fix for me. His charges were very reasonable plus I got a 10% discount because I found Zajic Appliance Service on Angie's List.
Description of Work: Refrigerator -- checked the temperature, replaced the water filter and confirmed that the appliance was operating correctly. Microwave and two garbage disposals -- confirmed that the appliances were operating correctly. Two ovens -- confirmed that the ovens were operating correctly and replaced two lights. Dishwashers -- repaired the hardware in one dishwasher and added weights to the doors of both so that they stay open.

I had called another company who did not want to deal with a newer model GE because they apparently have computers in them. I was pretty sure that the problem had nothing to do with a computer problem so when I called Zajic I asked to speak with someone who actually does the repair work. They put me right through to one of their repair persons. I explained the problem & he told me he thought it was exactly what I thought the problem was. I was then given back to the scheduler who set up the appointment. Gary came out to fix the fridge. He was not the person I had talked to on the phone, but figured out the problem right away and melted the ice that was blocking the drain. When he was done he noticed that there was air coming through the flap where the ice & water come out & he fixed that, too. Gary was so kind which is especially important to me as I have a chronic health condition and was not feeling that great. I asked him if he would install the new filter I hadn't been able to get to & he did that as well. But, what really impressed me was that he fixed one of the doors under the sink that hadn't been closing right for years. He just looked at it and in 3 seconds had it closing without me asking him to. I exclaimed "that's been driving me crazy for 6 years"! and he replied " I've only been here 5 minutes & it was driving me crazy". How cool was that!
Description of Work: My freezer was leaking water on the floor. I thought it was because the water line to the ice maker was leaking causing ice to form which blocked the water drain. I was correct about this, but there was also another small issue which also got fixed.

I called Zajic appliance service because they got good grades on Angie's list and because they offered a coupon. David came within the two hour window quoted over the phone. He was polite and informative. He immediately discovered my problem (fridge was warm-freezer was fine) and replaced the part needed. The part I needed was expensive ($110) but it was great to have it already on the truck and ready when needed. I would use this company again if I need other appliance repairs.

These guys were rock stars. I made the mistake of buying a dishwasher from Lowe's and trying to have their "professional" installers install the new one in the place of an ancient existing one that's been there since the early 1970s. The Lowe's installer came to the house and whined like a baby about how the old one was behind a layer of linoleum and it would be really hard to get it out, etc., etc. He said it was technically possible to get it out, but that they couldn't take on the liability of using a sawzall and possibly damaging my cabinets, linoleum, etc., etc. (He came in a personal vehicle and it also seemed like he didn't really have any tools and stuff necessary for that kind of work -- his truck had pretty mag wheels, though -- maybe it's good for cruising or something). I said, "Thank you, you can leave now" and immediately called Zajic's. The Zajic guys (Alex and Rick) arrived in a huge WORK truck that must have been loaded with every kind of tool and supply under the sun. They had the old dishwasher out within 10 minutes, without damaging anything -- not even scratches on the floor -- and without whining about how hard it was. They then had to work through some existing plumbing problems and electrical problems -- and had almost all of the tools and supplies they needed right in the truck (which was impressive). There was one weird plumbing piece they didn't have (plumbing is like that), but they were apologetic, and stopped the clock on the service call while they went to their supplier to get it (they got back in 17 minutes). They then proceeded to install the new machine, hook it up, test run, check for leaks, etc. (During this time, one of the guys was hooking up my washer/dryer -- a much easier job -- but he was fairly meticulous. ) I was there the whole time, and it was clear to me that they actually knew what the h*** they were doing. Given the length of the service call, and some of the problems they encountered in replacing the ancient dishwasher and associated ancient plumbing, the price was VERY reasonable, and they honored the 10% AL discount AFTER calculating the cost of time and materials. These guys were extremely professional and really knew what they were doing, and the cost was very reasonable given what the job was. Next time I will save myself a headache, and just buy my machines from Zajics and have Zajics install them instead of wasting time with Lowe's or Home Depot.

The tenants reported that the dishwasher would not drain. My usual appliance repair company could not schedule an appointment until 4 days out. I found Zajic Appliance Repair on Angie's List and they were able to schedule an appointment for the next day (Saturday) with a 4-hour arrival window (11-3). But, they said I could call back Saturday morning to get an updated 2-hour arrival window. When I called Saturday morning, they gave me an updated arrival window of 1-3. They also called later to give me a 20-minute advance notice that their tech was enroute. Their tech was on time, professional, and personable. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. He also ran the dishwasher through a cycle with a special cleaning agent to help prevent future drainage problems. This was the first time I've used Zajic Appliance Repair -- it won't be the last. Great service at a reasonable price.
