+ -1 moreFirst, VSS broke the granite piece and installed it broken. Second, rather than repairing the piece to prevent a future problem they hid it from me and the contractor. Third, when I called them about the obvious issue with the island / sag, they had an opportunity to fix their mistakes but they effectively lied again and instead chose to hide their error, knowing it was a time bomb. Fourth, when the inevitable happened due to their poor workmanship, lying, and terrible customer relations, they blew me off. I can't say enough bad things about a company that would treat someone like this.
Description of Work: VSS subcontracted to install granite countertops during my kitchen remodel approximately 4 years ago (spring 2013). Within a few weeks I noticed a flaw in the finish of the overhang of the island, and in fact saw this half-moon shaped piece was distinctly on a slightly different plane than the rest of the island. VSS came out and polished it, said to call if I had more problems. Fast forward 3.5 years (January 2017): the piece cracks. A granite expert shows me the epoxy VSS has used to cover up the crack in the slab and the bullnose. He shows me that there is inadequate support for the granite piece. I call the kitchen contractor who calls VSS, VSS states they warranty their work for 1 year, and they refuse to speak to the contractor or me. I recently found a repair company who tore open the island at the crack. They showed me VSS had put about 1/16" of epoxy into the crack, just enough to hold it through their one year warranty period. Since my slab selection is discontinued, replacement of all the granite in the kitchen would cost about $10,000. Ultimately and miraculously, I found a craftsman (reviewed separately) this week to repair the countertop for just under $700.

Description of Work: Ordered formica counter tops from Home Depot and VSS fabricated and installed them. Super fast turn around and Anthony measured and installed them. Anthony was efficient and did a bang up job on the installation. Would not hesitate to use them again. Thanks so much!

+ 0 moreI bought the countertops through Home Depot. Measurement went smoothly, although the individual who measured didn't bring a formal paper/pen to record measurements. I had to wait a month to get an appointment for installation, but the individual came on time and did a great job.
