The first time went OK, except it took 3 weeks before they could come do the job and I had to call in order to get a receipt. The second time was lousy. The guy came with the dingo to excavate, never attempted to look at slope with a level or laser, over-excavated one area. I had to watch him constantly so he wouldn't crash into the stone work. Adjacent areas were damaged. In leaving, he drove across my front lawn, leaving heavy grooves with the machine's wheels. The guy was inept. I never heard again from Turner. Again no receipt. I do not recommend and will never rehire.
Description of Work: Two projects. First, rototill compost into soil, then level area in preparation for me to lay stone. Second, I initially wanted a bid on excavating the same area, removing 4 inches of soil and placing it in raised beds I had already built, then sloping the area toward drains and laying 800 sq. ft of flagstone. I waited a month to get the bid, called the company, and Liz said Warren had been ill. No excuse for never calling. He still never called. I gave up and called to say I just wanted them to excavate and slope the area toward drains. I would take care of stone and concrete myself. Within a week they sent the guy out with the Dingo to rototill and excavate.

Mr. Turner responded to my call and came to my home to discuss our needs and design a plan for a backyard project. Mr. Turner showed up on time and was very informative and helpful. We were confident we had chosen the right man for the job and felt the $75 fee for the plans was worth the time he spent with us. Sadly, however, we never received the project plans, despite our attempts to contact Mr. Turner. (There had been some issue with his glasses, his assistant told us.) We were promised plans and contact which never materialized. We finally realized that the $75 was a good lesson and that we would not be willing to invest more in this company, despite our affinity for Mr. Turner himself and our respect for his knowledge of his trade. A big draw for us had been his promise that we could have the project completed in about 10 days after finalizing the plans. It's now been many months and I am checking out Angie's list for potential reliable landscapers who can do the job.
Description of Work: Review of backyard area in need of drainage, fencing, walkways and gravel. A completed project plan was expected as part of the $75 fee but was never delivered despite several attempts to contact the company. The project plan itself was part of a larger process for taking bids on this job. We had hoped to hire Mr. Turner to do this job but he never submitted plans. He made no indication that he did not want the job and left us with the expectation that we could have the job done in as little as two weeks.

The rep was pleasant and their vehicles looked professional but they obviously lack organization. Even if they submitted a bid now, we wouldn't employ them because of concern about their reliability. If they can't get organized to submit a bid, how could they be trusted to perform work?
Description of Work: We telephoned Turner Landscaping for an estimate on quite extensive re-landscaping for our home. We saw one of the their trucks with their name and phone number. Mr. Turner Sr came by our house twice and measured for a bid. He said the bid would be forthcoming within two days. After a week, we telephoned. He said ''I thought she had mailed that - give me your email and I'll send it that way.'' That was three weeks ago and we have received nothing. Their failure cost us nothing but time and annoyance but it remains a puzzle why a contractor would spend time doing the prep work to submit a bid and then never follow through.

Warren came promptly and had a nice discussion about the project. Then he never submitted an estimate, despite me calling twice for it.

THE EXPERIENCE WENT WELL. I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THE JOB THEY DID. THEY WERE FRIENDLY TO TALK TO ABOUT THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM. THEY WERE VERY NEAT AND LEFT NO MESS FROM THE JOB THEY DID.
Description of Work: THEY INSTALLED A DRAINAGE SYSTEM FOR THE BACKYARD PLAYGROUND AND THEY PUT DOWN PLAYGROUND BARK.
