 + -1 moreA part fell off the ignition switch in my 02 Ford Explorer, making it difficult to remove the key. Dealer estimated $300 minimum to replace the whole switch. Call The Key Man Carl Woodard and made an appointment. He showed up at my house right on time, and in about 30 minutes he had replaced the tumbler assembly, charging just $120. Carl was courteous, cheerful, and work was professional. Would definitely use again for any kind of locksmith work.

He came out within the window he promised. The work was done. He took the time to explain the key technology and looked up a service that can replace the remote.  + -1 moreI was starting to have some difficulty with my front door lock. I used Angie's list to find a locksmith and because of his high rating and close proximity to my home, I called Carl, The Key Man. Carl called me before he arrived at my home. When he arrived, he quickly diagnosed the problem and made an adjustment that solved the immediate problem. As it turns out, the lock needs more work. Since Carl doesn't carry parts for this type of lock, he gave me the name and phone number of another locksmith I could call. Although the repair to my lock only took a couple of minutes, Carl had to come to my home and deal with me and after all of that, he didn't charge me anything. How great is that?
Description of Work: Carl adjusted the Baldwin Mortice lock on my front door and didn't charge me anything. In addition to the adjustment, the lock needs further repair that Carl doesn't do, so he referred me to another locksmith that he knows works on Baldwin locks.

She identified herself with both her trade & drivers licenses. She was both very friendly & very professional. All work was done quickly, efficiently, thoroughly & cleanly. She even tightened an extra loose knob for me at no extra charge. Their prices were very reasonable & all per the information on their very informative web site. I hope I never need a locksmith again, but if I do, I know who I'm going to call!

He is also very honest. There was one lock that I believed was broken but when he opened it up it turned out it just needed some tightening/adjusting. He could have easily charged me to replace the whole lock. Will be using The Key Man again for future needs.

 + -1 moreEven though he didn't actually rekey our locks, his service was awesome, as was his willingness to be there the next day, on a Sunday.
Description of Work: I called The Key Man on Saturday, 2/4/12, based on his reports on Angies List. I had lost my keys the previous Thursday. We had searched everywhere we could think plus lots of places where we thought the keys couldn't possibly be but you had to check everywhere, just in case. My fear was that I had left them in the front of the door after unlocking it, then just closed the door after unloading groceries, with the keys still hanging outside - and that perhaps a solicitor had come and just taken them. My ring included house keys, car keys, and the mailbox key. After two days of searching, I called The Key Man to come and rekey our locks and change the mailbox lock. He couldn't make it here on Saturday, the day I called, but he was willing to come on Sunday - Super Bowl Sunday, at that! I was very impressed with his willingness to come the next day. He told me he doesn't charge extra on weekends - he just makes appointments if he's available on those days. And his quoted prices were good - $40 for the service call and $10 for each lock. That seemed fair to me. In the end, my daughter - bless her! - found the keys in the bottom of her purse that night! I called The Key Man on Sunday morning and offered to send a check to him for anything he might have purchased ahead of time - like a mail box lock - but he said that wasn't necessary. If I EVER need a lock rekeyed or replaced in the future, I will definitely call him.

 + -1 moreCarl came out with state-of-the-art equipment and he re-keyed my car. It took a couple of hours as it is tedious work. He also re-keyed my home for this price. He literally had to do the math himself in order to put it into the key system to test the keys before actually putting in the key to adjust. I would never have had the patience to do this on my own. On top of all of that, he is very personable and polite. He is a great guy and he gave me a super-bargain. He is very knowledgeable and I would highly recommend him to anyone! If Carl hadn't come out, I would've had to have my car towed to the dealership. That cost would've been the price of a used car, but thank goodness I had Carl!

The process took less than 15 minutes which surprised me. Afterwards, I was given 3 keys for the new locks. The Key Man was punctual, friendly, courteous, and professional.  + -1 moreI called several locksmiths for quotes since I had three things I needed fixed. The Key man was by far the most reasonable. He was very pleasant on the phone and was able to come out the next morning. He was right on time and finished in a very timely manner. Very nice guy and very honest! He was able to fix the dead-bolt which everyone else wanted to replace at a higher price. I appreciated that he could just replace the one part (that he had with him). After the work was done, he showed me exactly what he had done and explained it all. I will definitely use him again--wouldn't think of using anyone else.
Description of Work: I needed several things done. I had lost a key to an old lift up garage door, needed one lock re-keyed and the dead-bolt to my shed needed to be fixed as I couldn't open the door!!!
