They were amazing! Not only did Steve carry the exact stone I found elsewhere at a large graniie showroom - his price was 50% lower. And the fabrication fees were a fraction of what his competition quoted. To top it all off, they got the work done in record time - I'm giddy over the results. Thanks guys!! I would definitely recommend these folks to anyone looking for stone countertops.

Yes, it went well. The demolition team could have been more careful with our floors. Little less conscientious that we would have liked. However, Steve gave great advice - since we didn't know much and he did a great job. We would use them again!

Very professional crew. Demolition of old tile done in a few hours and everything cleaned up to my satisfaction. Installation was done in the same manner. Very pleased with the result. Was several hours late from the time estimated on installation HOWEVER he called and kept me updated so that was not an issue in my book. I will use him again and have already referred him to others. Rated a B on responsiveness as you may have to make more than one phone call or email to get a response but with the building and remodeling business getting busier, this is common with all contractors. The work done was well worth an additional phone call!

Steve was quick to respond to phone calls and emails. His estimate came in quickly and well within our budget. He was very honest and gave helpful advice. Our decision to go with another company came down to basically the flip of a coin. It was a really tough decision and even though in the end we went with someone else I would definitely refer him to others. He also came highly recommended from people we talked to at the granite stores.

Steve and his team did a great job. He was very responsive to our needs and everything was installed in a timely fashion. Everything was completed on time and within a week. I met with Steve initially so he could take a few measurements in order to produce a bid. He was very professional and on-time for our appointment. He had a great attitude and promised to email the bid within 2 days. My wife and I were very pleased with the bid we received so we called Steve to schedule the job. We scheduled it for two weeks out because my wife and I still needed to finalize our granite selection. The plan was to get started on a Tuesday at 9AM. They were on-time and completed the tear out in a few hours. They took the remainder of the measurements they would need for the granite fabrication. The only thing that wasn't part of the plan was my wife and I had made some changes to what we wanted for a tile backsplach. Steve was so adaptable to what we wanted to do. He just kept saying we want you to be happy. This actually added an extra day to the plan where Steve would have to come back the following week and finish up even though he probably had other jobs that he needed to get going on. This was much appreciated by us though and we truly felt he wanted his customers to be happy. He said not to worry about it and they will be back on Thursday once they had the fabrication done for the countertops. They were back on Thursday morning around 9AM to install the sink and the countertops as well as start the tile. On Thursday everything went as expected. The countertops were installed, sink was installed and part of the tile was installed. They returned on Friday to finish the rest of the backsplach and grout what they could. We still had one little section that needed to be completed and like I said Steve was very flexible to our needs. He was expecting to be done on Friday but we actually had to have him come out again the following week to finish up the rest of our tile work. Our experience with S&D could not have gone better. I think Steve really does his best to take care of his customers. He was on-time, flexible to our needs and priced reasonably. I would definitely recommend using him if you have any sort of granite or tile work that needs to be done.

He was great, and very easy to work with. He was prompt and very professional. He had the work done within a week. After shopping around, I found that his prices were really reasonable.

and the price!If I type here i will just repeat myself! Steve and his Crew are the second granite counter top group we have used from Angie's List. The first was at our other home in Charlotte, NC. They were both terrific from beginning to end. The price in California was a bit less per square foot, and the quality was Superior in both places with both Contractors. Steve even worked in our home while we were on vacation-They are fabulous-you can trust them beyond the 'shadow of a doubt' to do the best possible work. Everyone who enters our Kitchen or Game room 'rave' about the quality of the work, and then again at the price!

We chose Steve to do our countertops based on his bid on the job, and the reviews of his work here on Angies list. At first, Steve was very responsive. He recommended a stone shop Domus, for us to pick out stone. We went with him to the store, and picked out stone that we loved. Then there was a weeks delay because the stone shop would not give him a discount on the stone. Steve did not inform us of the shop unable to give us a discount. My husband and I had to continually follow up with him, till we got this information and told him we wanted to go ahead. We loved the stone, it was still in our budget, so we decided to go ahead and pay for it. Steve came over to do measurements and we discussed what we wanted. He picked up the stone as agreed and set a date for it to be installed in the kitchen. When that day arrived, Steve was not present to do the install, it was done by his partner. My husband discovered that the edges of the countertop were not squared as agreed, but rounded. Again, we went ahead anyway, as we were eager to get our kitchen done. My husband had concerns about the install, which he expressed at the time, and I've followed up several times with Steve, and he keeps telling me he'll come back to address these, but he has not. Our current concerns: - Corners were not as agreed - Counter top in one area is not level (discovered by the backsplash installer) - Seams look like they were done by an amateur, they are messy. - Many edges are chipped - Stone not sealed properly, already showing water spots - If you are looking for someone who is responsive, this is not the company you are looking for In closing I'd like to say that, I really liked Steve, and believe that he may be experiencing some personal issues. However, it's no excuse for not doing right by us. He provides this product at a great price, so it may be worth it to some to go for price - and maybe this is an isolated incident. I have informed Steve of my concerns in writing, and while he responded that he would address them, he has not.

This job was as hassle-free as one could hope! Steve arrived when he said he would. Out of four estimates, his was the best (with the exception of one that was using the prefab granite, and would have had to put in six seams as opposed to the one seam Steve did.) Two of the estimates (Steve's was one) came from highly-rated Angie's List contractors. I chose companies that had reviews saying their prices were reasonable and work was good. His price was not only the best, he was also very professional. One valuable perk is that he passes on his contractor's discount for purchasing the granite and tile. I checked out granite places, and chose Arizona Tile. That discount saved between a quarter and a third of the cost of the granite and tile over what I would have had to pay on my own! He and his crew got the work done in two days (which is what he said it would take), and the job is beautiful! I noticed a few small things to fix, and Steve came out and fixed them promptly. It doesn't get better than this! Note: the dollar amount represents labor only. The granite, tile and appliances are not included in the amount.

All of the work was completed as contracted and time and cost frames all met.

Steve gave us an estimate during his initial visit to our home. His crew was extremely friendly, efficient and very neat. Our initial back splash choice was "our" big mistake and we wanted it changed after it was finished. We had company coming, and Steve committed to getting it replaced by working into the night, never complaining. We were more than satisfied with the new result and can't begin to say how much we appreciated it. Complements keep on coming on the beautiful job Steve and his crew did for us.

We had a great experience with S&D Stone. They recently installed our granite countertops and they look fantastic. Steve and his crew were wonderful. They responded quickly, were helpful in giving us the information we needed to make decisions, and were very professional. We used Angie's list to find them, and we were not disappointed. They came out and gave us an estimate that was much lower than the rest. We were a little nervous going with a smaller "family-owned" company versus a bigger one at first, but we were quickly put at ease. They do quality work and only took about a week from estimate to completion to get the job done. I can't say enough good about them. Would highly recommend!

They did multiple jobs for us. The job went really well. They not only did the job but they didn’t mind me hanging around. The first job they did was custom and this job was pre-fab and this was for my pool house so it was not a big deal none the less there was something I wanted custom fabricated and they stuck it in and didn’t charge me for it. I am very happy with them.

I believe I explained this feature of the report earlier, however, one detail I would not recommend, but it happened. My wife and I left the job site due to a previous commitment. We were expected out of town just as Steve's team arrived to complete some of the most delicate parts of the installation-fabrication on the Second day. Not to worry, even though Steve was 'on the mend' from recent surgery, he came out and supervised the group. They completed their work, in flawless manner. They then locked up the house, and left, with a job well done!

We found S&D here on Angie's List along with a few other granite fabricators. We'd purchased our granite already and our cabinet designs were complete. We provided cabinet drawings & received estimates. We visited the shops and met with fabricators & selected Steve. Steve picked-up our granite from the retailer, worked with us on the design, provided us helpful suggestions about edging & sinks, and let us come to the shop to select which slabs & what orientation to use to create our kitchen island & countertops. Steve offered to use our left-over material for a bathroom counter and a small outdoor tabletop. We are very pleased with the countertops in our kitchen & bathroom. Steve & Jose were easy to work with & delivered on the day they'd forecasted. Steve was easy to work with via email. There were occasions where we wanted a bit more prompt communication. After the installation, we had a few emails & phone calls that had delayed responses. Overall, we had heard lots of difficult stories from family, friends, & subcontractors about granite fabricators. We think we found several on Angie's List who would have done excellent work for us. We are very satisfied with the work & value we received from S & D and do recommend them to others looking for granite fabrication.

I really liked their work. They were quick. They were in and out when they said they would be. I had to call them up and make sure if they were coming but I would rate that minimal as you have to do that with everyone.

Steve was helpful and honest from the beginning. I got 5 quotes and liked his demeanor and knowledge so we went with him. He was patient as we made our decision and even returned an extra slab to the Warehouse when we changed our mind on an additional job that we had added on. When they tore out the tile, they were quick and clean in the process. The installation was handled beautifully and they answered any questions we had. After it was installed there was a small problem and he immediately took care of it. This was a wonderful easy process that took approximately one week and what made this great was his attentiveness to customer service. They showed up when they said they would, were responsive in returning phone calls, and were absolutely willing to make sure that we were pleased with the outcome.
