Randy was great. On the initial call, he stated he could stop by in the next few days to look at the french doors. I'm listing my house and the doors are misaligned. I want them repaired before listing. He called 3/25 and said he had time today to look at them and possibly repair them. He showed up an hour later with tools ready. He was professional, used common sense language and carefully explained the problem. After assessing the doors, he went to work. French doors are tricky because the meet in the center and the deadbolt has to line up. He figured it out and now the doors work great. I'm very happy with his services. He was here for 3 hours and only charged me a reasonable $150. He provided a receipt. I would use him again. In fact, since I'm buying an older home, he will be my first call for any repairs, remodeling, or any other work I want done.

The initial meeting was good, he was polite and prompt
Description of Work: I wanted a price on a partial bathroom remodel. The provider was prompt and very professional and thorough but unfortunately the estimate was over my budget

We were referred to Randy by a neighbor in our condo complex, and he is delightful to work with. He's very straightforward and looks for the simplest and cheapest ways to accomplish the goal. The work he has done for us is very competent and professional. When he does perform the work, he's always on time and does not waste time on the job and cleans up well after himself. The jobs where he offered a plumber referral and a cabinetmaker for jobs he usually does not do himself turned out fine--both subs are quite good. Randy is always ready to talk on the phone and offer advice, even if it means he doesn't end up doing the work. He has shown himself to be reliable, smart, and of high integrity, and he will continue to be the and quot;go toand quot; person we call first for bathroom or kitchen work.
Description of Work: In this case, Randy advised us that we should replace rather than fix a broken dishwasher, and referred us to brands and retailers. He recommended the new dishwasher be installed by seller--that the job did not merit extra expense of contractor installation. He DID install a new garbage disposal for us a few months earlier. Several years ago, he installed a new kitchen faucet, and also installed grab bars on tub and shower stall. For small odd jobs, he has referred us to a cabinetmaker and a plumber and both were excellent.

This contractor was recommended by a trusted friend who had utilized his services in remodeling his home. We found this contractor to be an excellent craftsman who takes great pride in his work and is very conscientious in supervising other work under his contract responsibility. He and his associates(subcontractors) have a very good working relationship and are outstanding professionals. They take great pride in the quality of their work. The contractor and his associates were expeditious and professional in the work activities. They were polite and courteous in their relations with us when we asked questions about their work. Every effort was made by all the workers on this project to create as little disturbance as possible. The work area(master bedroom vanity and, bathroom shower) was left clean after each days activity. The work area was well ventilated during the work period to keep the construction dust and odors to an absolute minimum.
Description of Work: Renovated Bathroom Shower and Vanity Area. Specific activities involved demolition and removal of old shower plumbing and hardware, tile surfacing materials, tile flooring pan and membrane, shower door and dry wall materials. Demolition also included removal of vanity area lighting, mirror, vanity cabinet and tile counter top. Construction activities involved installing a new vanity cabinet with new tile counter top, new mirror, new lights, new sinks, new hardware and refinishing vanity area wall surfaces and painting the walls in the vanity area. Construction in the shower area included installing new plumbing, new hardware, new shower floor pan, new dry wall, new tile on all surfaces of the shower stall, new shower inclosure and door plus new shower light. The wall surfaces near the shower stall were also refinished and painted.

Randy was very helpful and pointed out other issues that we might consider for the future. He managed the bathroom remodel, calling in the various other contractors as needed, yet was very forthcoming with info for contractors we could deal with directly for other separate items (saving us the cost of his supervision). For instance, we needed electrical work done in the garage and wanted some new lighting added, and he gave us the name of a great electrician (who gave us very good advice) who we subsequently used for that work. Every professional he suggested was exactly that, professional. In the kitchen, we wanted a bigger sink and more cabinets. We were pointed to a great granite fabricator to recut the sink opening, that also helped us with an additional granite counter fabrication for our new cabinet area (this cost is not included in the above total). Randy made great suggestions and the cabinet maker he used made exactly what we wanted and it looks like it was always there (but better). We will eventually get the soffits removed from the rest of the kitchen and will use him (and the cabinet maker) again to make new upper cabinets. We considered getting a new mantle from an online company. Randy suggested I talk to the cabinet maker, as he felt we would get a better product at a lower cost and professionally installed. The cabinet maker was able to give us a better price for a mantle made from a better wood. Randy consulted/managed this project as well, taking additional measurements and talking to the contractor to refine the design per our requests. I was there for the delivery of the mantle and got to watch as it was installed/finished on site. We feel we got what we wanted (and more), and got an education as well - things that we didn't know before, but will help us down the road. Plus, he advised some things that he could have done and charged us for, but told us we could do ourselves and save money. We did not always get written estimates, and our list of items was often changing (as we started to see the possibilities of what could be done), but Randy provided us with all the information from every sub he used (copies/originals of all receipts) and took care of deposits and payments once we agreed to the work to be done. This worked fine for us. He gave verbal estimates and/or called the contractors involved and then called back. He was very upfront about what he knew about costs for various things and what he felt could not be completely known until more work had been done (like opening the soffit in the bath). He was quick to return calls (often within 30 minutes).
Description of Work: We remodeled a bathroom and added additional cabinets in the kitchen. A soffit over the bathtub/shower was removed, existing tile removed, baseboard removed, new tub and tub shoe installed, insulation installed surrounding the shower area and new wall board installed. Partial floor tile was removed (to make room for the new tub), tub area was tiled to the ceiling w/glass tile accents, floor tile was recut and re-installed, two niches were created in the shower wall and a corner shelf was installed. The whole bathroom was re-textured and plumbing re-attached, new towel bars and hooks were installed. In the kitchen, new cabinets were designed and custom built and painted to match existing cabinets. Additional areas in home were repaired/re-textured due to previous damage and recent holes cut by electrician. We also had a mantle/bookshelf carefully removed (to be partially reused elsewhere) and a new mantle made and installed by the same person who made our cabinets. We also needed an attic access cut to accommodate the electrical work.

He was not too happy with the little work that I needed done. He did not show interest and does not do any wood work. He came over and took measurements and never called me back.
Description of Work: He came over and looked at what I wanted to have done.
