+ 0 moreRobert Hudson and son always showed up right on time and worked for 3 days, leaving everything clean and neat at the end of each day. I chose this company because they have expertise in light placement and because they handle all the drywall, texturing and painting to complete the job. The outcome is beautiful and I couldn't be happier with the work!
Description of Work: We had a fluorescent light box removed from the kitchen and a hanging light removed from the dining room. Had dimmable LED can lights added to kitchen, dining room, and living/family great room on four switches, plus under cabinet lights in kitchen. Robert Hudson Electric did all the drywall, patching, texturing & painting so that the job was fully completed by the time they left.

Great attention to detail and quality of work. I will definitely be hiring them again to continue to update lighting in my home. A great company to work with!
Description of Work: Added LED lights to bedroom (we did not have any ceiling lights); removed whole house fan we did not use that was in bedroom ceiling; added dimmer switch for new lights; and repaired (drywall and texture) and painted ceiling and wall.

+ -1 moreI contacted this business owner in the morning about a control panel in my garage with no power. I was told worker would arrive at 3:30 pm named Lennon. I drove into my driveway at 3:24 pm and he had left their general business card on my door "Sorry we missed you". He didn't bother to wait until 3:30 pm and did not leave his number on the card. When I called the Robert Hudson Electric main number to let him know what happened I got his voice mail and he/the business owner never called me back to reschedule, or make this wrong right. A reliable business who cares about their reputation, makes an effort to communicate to avoid inconvenience. Clearly this business failed in that fundamental area.
Description of Work: Nothing, that's the problem.

Description of Work: Robert Hudson Electric replaced our old (and ugly) kitchen florescent light fixture with modern LED bucket lights plus added LED pendants over kitchen bar area. My wife purchased the pendants at a lighting store prior to the job. | |They were prompt, very professional and attentive to our concerns. They used plastic sheeting and drop cloths to contain the construction dust. They also finished off the ceiling with texturing where needed and painted to match. They completed the job right on time (they have done many of these types of improvements). We highly recommend them.

Description of Work: The difference between Hudson and other retrofit electrical contractors was that they are "one stop shopping". They not only perform the electrical work to code, they patch, texture and paint all holes that were made during the work. As a result, they look a little more expensive at the outset until you realize you have to hire a painter that does sheet rock repair and texture. |They removed existing fluorescent fixtures, installed 6 3500K LED adjustable ceiling lights, 4 pendants, all with effective dimmer switches, under-counter lights. They also moved switches, added switches and dimmers in other areas of the kitchen and dining room. Moved a fan from the dining room to a bedroom, installed a chandelier in it's place. I would defy anyone to see where the patch, texture and paint was done. It was seamless. Also covered all surfaces with double drop cloths that were clean. Highly recommended. |One ceiling light failed within a week and Hudson came out with a new one a couple of days later. No charge, no hassle.

+ -1 moreRobert Hudson and son, Lennon, work well together in this family business. Robert came to our home with several choices of lighting which he demonstrated. He is very professional and proficient. The project took two days and there was always protection on the floor and counters. We feel the price was a bit high, but we would use Hudson Electric again. We would rather have professionals do our work than save a dime.
Description of Work: Light-box in kitchen ceiling removed. Ceiling patched and painted where box was. Several recessed lights in kitchen and living room installed. LED light strips under cabinet. Remote for LR lights and fan. Ceiling fans and remotes installed in two BR.

Description of Work: Removed box lights in kitchen and 3 bathrooms and installed pendants, recessed lights and under-cabinet LED strips in kitchen, and vanity lights in bathrooms (plus 2 recessed in master bath). Very happy with services performed, including re-texturing & painting impacted ceiling & walls. Extremely responsive & helpful with accessories like LED bulb selection. Only negative was amount of powdery dust remaining throughout house after install. In hindsight I would've covered or removed more things. Overall very impressed with quality of work performed in only 2 days.

+ -1 moreHe is a pleasure to work with and did a great job! We could not be more happy. We had several bids for the job but Robert demonstrated the different lights and the =/- for each type. He knew what he was talking about. He was always on time and finished on time. Our kitchen looks so much better now, we love it! The family room looks great now as well. He understands lighting and placement of lighting. The other contractors never talked about where to place lights, basically they would just throw up some lights here and there without worrying how it work or what would work best. He also removed some old can lights that were not properly placed and a big eye sore. He evened out the lighting in the room. Overall a really goo job. He was always on time and they worked quickly but not forgetting the details.
Description of Work: We had our old recessed flourescent lighting removed and filled it. Then they put in LED can lights and installed some pendant lighting. The price quote was for the kitchen. After we decided to do the kitchen we ended up putting more lights in the family room and moving a ceiling fan (that was additional)

They also fixed a pre-existing drywall problem (patched a hole) for free. The lights have a 45 year guarantee (made in USA by the way!). We plan on using them again. All contractors should provide this level of service!!
Description of Work: Filled in recessed kitchen ceiling (framing, dry wall and paint) and replaced the flourescent lighting with "dimmable" L.E.D. can lights.
