The sales team provided equipment and finance options in clear and straight forward language, and I felt very good about my choice--Lennox with air purification system. The installers were fantastic--courteous, respectful, knowledgeable, and very professional. After the installation, another team came by to test the efficiency of the system. They found and fixed problems with leaky ducts I did not even know I had. Then, one final inspection took place from another Park quality control team. These two (2) separate inspections took place within 30-days of each other. The price was high . . . and so was the quality of their service and my satisfaction level with their work. Waited this long to write my review--I was conducting my personal test of the heat, air conditioning, and air purification system.

It has worked perfectly for the two months since then. The technician was very knowledgeable, thorough and professional. He took his time to get it right, and I presume he did that for his previous customer too, because he was late :-) The price for these high-end commercial HVAC contractors is very high, but Park was no more expensive than the others, and you do get your money's worth in terms of a thorough job.
Description of Work: They diagnosed a fault with my four zone heat pump system ("mini-split"). They figured out where the refrigerant leak was (a previous contractor hadn't properly tightened a joint), and performed a bunch of other checks before refilling the system with refrigerant.

Well, they disappointed us two times with scheduling and cancelled at the last minute. They didn't order the parts on time. And then when it came time for invoicing they lost our estimate and then sent us this one that was more than we expected, and since they lost our original paperwork we only had the verbal to go with, so, bad luck. The guy who did the actual work was really nice and did a good job, but the administrative office side was horrible. I expressed my disappointment to the office. They said they would have a manager call us...no one ever called us back. The actual work, once completed, was fine. But the lack of follow up, repeated re-scheduling, and complete lack of customer service was extremely frustrating. We would not recommend them. Needles to say, we will NOT be using them again.

My initial call with the office was very friendly and nearly fun. Seriously, I must say, calling their staff is a pleasurable experience. Each person I have spoken too is delightful! Each person comes across helpful and genuinely interested is communication. People you would hope to have as friends. Very nice folks. Truly, it's hard to get mad at them because they are so gracious over the phone! Sadly, This is were the good ends. I have a brand new home. I had a home inspection done and actually hired a reputable company to inspect the HVAC system and everything checked out at that time, with the exception, the two of the five systems are missing drip pans and because of this, the home does not meet code standards. I bought the home anyway knowing I would install these pans. Park Mechanical arrives at my home spot on time! As soon as their technician comes into my home they begin up-selling me on a maintenance program - pushy I might add. In fact, they had not even begun looking at my equipment before pushing a service agreement sale. That in of itself does not mean their service is bad but -- it is a bit annoying. Not surprising, Park mechanical begins working on all 5 of my systems and identify two systems are missing safety pans. This is fair and good catch - awesome. However, they start to nit-pick every possible flaw in the system and then pushing that service agreement and then pushing major replacements along with a pitch "you know, if you have the service agreement ---- blah blah blah". They did pick up a few things that I may elect to fix that are minor but they did locate an issue that involved my health and safety. They found a propane leak to one of the units. The technician showed me the line that was loose and that would need to be tightened. I agreed to have him make the repair to the tune of $149. The technician said that he performed the service and that the pipe needed a total of 5 rotations to securely fasten the pipe so that it no longer leaked. Great! Yes? Yes. After the system service the technician appeared before with a big smile and very excited. We talked about the missing safety pans which he quoted me $1,184 each. I believed this excessive. He pitched the service agreement and his smile turned to a big frown when I declined and opted to pay the $59 x 5 + $149 = $444.00. The technician left unhappy and in a hurry but said he would call me with a revision estimate about the safety pans. I never heard from the him and I did call Park Mechanical serveral times. Each time I was greeted with their fantastic staff promising to follow-up with me. They didn't ever! This whole time something troubled me. I had a feeling something was not right. I couldn't put my finger on it so I decided that I would hire another HVAC firm to come out and do the very same inspection. This is when I realized I had been lied too. The HVAC firm I hired walked me through their inspection and I found out mostly what Park Mechanical had either found was not true. Well, the pans are true but I already knew this. Here's the worst part. THE MOST IMPORTANT LIFE THREATENING SITUATION I HAD THE TECHNICIAN REPAIR WAS NOT REPAIRED AT ALL. HE CHARGED ME BUT ACTUALLY DID NOT PERFORM THE SERVICE. PROPANE WAS LEAKING INTO MY ATTICT ABOVE MY BED WHERE THE FURNACE IS LOCATED. THE ATTICT WAS FILLED WITH PROPANE AND A CLEAR LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. The very same line that the technician identified as loose and leaking was still loose and leaking and I this time visually watch the new technition actually service, test and make certain no more propane was leaking. We went trough the list of identified issues that Park Mechanical identified (keep in mind, I did not reveal to the new technician who the prior HVAC company was) and he invalidated their findings. My system is generally fine and I simply need a total of 4 things: 2 safety pans, pee trap and clamp. My recommendation. If you are looking for the most polite and enthusiastic folks in the HVAC business. Park Mechanical is golden. Before-warned. Wolves in sheep clothing. If you do not buy their service agreement, they loose interest very fast and do not trust that they will actually perform the service - particularly were threat of life is involved.

Annual service performed. In the past, there have been repairs that became known during the preventative service. Today there were none. Also, previously malfunctioning parts were almost always under warranty. When new parts are installed, they make sure I understand what the parts and service warranties are.
Description of Work: I have used Park Mechanical for 20 years to maintain my home heating and air conditioning. They also installed part of my HVAC system, and have cleaned my ductwork. They are unfailingly prompt, courteous, thorough and tidy. There are probably cheaper companies, although they are not notably more expensive than others. I recommend them with confidence.

As always Park Mechanical is consumately professional. They are thourough and answer any questions that we have. If there are any parts to be replaced they always show us the old part. We are exceptionally happy with them.
Description of Work: In 2009 Park Mechanical installed an entirely new HVAC system in our home. In 2010 they removed an old heat pump on the second story and turned it into a 3rd zone. We continue to have them service and inspect our system on a semi-annual basis. This particular visit was for the fall check-up and inspection.

I had a very bad experience with Park that lasted around 10 or 11 months and around 6 visits. I would not recommend them to anyone. My furnace stopped working the first time around March 2011. I called Park, and they got someone out to fix it relatively quickly. The igniter was cracked. My repairman said the igniter is very fragile, and can crack if it comes into contact with spider webs, or if it is touched with a bare hand (oils on the hand will cause it to crack). He replaced the igniter, and everything was good . . . Until the fall of 2011, when the weather got cold again. Then the furnace stopped working again -- same symptoms as the first time. I called Park again, believing the work was under warranty and concerned maybe I had a bigger problem than was originally diagnosed. The same repairman came out and re-diagnosed the problem -- again it was a cracked igniter. He then ran a full furnace evaluation to see if there was some sort of problem in the electrical system that would cause the igniter to crack more than once. (No explanation why he did not recommend or do the full evaluation the first time). I cannot recall the outcome, believe there was no electrical problem. But in round two, he did not have the correct igniter with him on the truck and could not find one locally, so he had to order one, and it took a couple of days to arrive. Did they make me a priority since this was a repeat problem they had previously failed to fix? NO. I was just another of their many appointments the day the igniter arrived. The repairman was supposed to show up by 6:30 p.m. He failed to show up or even to call, and I had a meeting that night so could not wait around for him to appear. As a result, it was another cold night for me in an unheated house. Finally got him back out to the house -- again I was not given priority -- and replaced the igniter again. And, he assured me, the work was NOT covered by the warranty and charged me again for the work. Two weeks later the furnace stopped working again -- same symptoms. Again, I was not given priority in the appointments. Same repairman came out again to diagnose the problem -- not trusting my ability to describe exactly the same symptoms as in rounds 1 and 2. He put in a new igniter and then began calling the furnace manufacturer for advice. By that time, I was pretty fed up with Park and calling the manager to find out 1) why I was charged for work that was supposed to be warrantied, and 2) what steps they were going to take (including maybe sending out another workman) to actually fix my furnace rather than coming out to replace the igniter every couple of weeks. The manager confirmed that the work was indeed under warranty and that he would refund my payment -- but not until the next month. He said Park was in communication with the furnace manufacturer to try to come up with a solution. As it turns out, the furnace manufacturer recommended that instead of using a generic brand igniter, that they use the manufacturer's brand. When the name-brand igniter arrived, the same repairman arrived and installed it. He assured me that the generic igniter was not the problem, and that the new igniter would crack. I got through the remainder of the 2011-12 winter with no further problems (after Park installed the name-brand igniter). It took Park TWO months and numerous nagging phone calls to refund my payment. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

The company was absolutely unprofessional. They did a complete bait and switch on the cost to repair a very straight forward repair of our heating system. I was traveling and had my mother meet the repair technician, who completely took advantage of the situation and over charged for every portion of the service. They also over stated the hours spent on the repair to increase the bill. When we contacted the company they were polite, but unprofessional in their business practices and offered no reasonable resolution. I would not use this company ever again.

Our experience with Park Mechanical was very short, as the problem was fixed quite quickly. They were professional and knowledgeable on the phone and in person. I was able to make a next-day appointment, which was extremely helpful, as we were dealing with a rental property. I would not hesitate to contact them again.
Description of Work: A Park representative came to look at an old wall heater in the home that wasn't working properly. They came ahead of schedule, which worked out well for us. It turned out to be a very minor fix, thankfully, and they were very professional and knowledgeable. The heater has been working great ever since!

They were absolutely fabulous. It took about three and a half days, and they left everything spotless every single day. They cleaned up the duct work from the ceilings, the vents and everything else. There wasn’t any dust around; it was perfect. They could not have been nicer individually. The first day they came in, they brought us three dozen fresh home-baked cookies. There was a note attached saying that they knew that they were going to be disrupting our lives, and this was a little treat towards that. I have never heard of anybody doing that before; it was cute. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future.

It went fine. The worker was punctual and polite and seemed knowledgeable. When the furnace stopped working the second time, Park was good about getting the same worker out to my house promptly, and he again fixed the problem. Because I won't be using the furnace again until next fall, I am concerned that if there is a recurring problem, or an underlying problem that was not fixed by replacing the igniter, that the labor will be out of warranty by the time the problem comes up again.

I think I covered, "Overall" above. The service was excellent. I selected Park Mechanical from Angie's List. I am very glad, indeed, that I belong to Angie's List.
Description of Work: My Heat Pump shut down around midnight of Friday, April 8. On Saturday morning I called Garick, the people who had installed the unit. I got a recorded message to call during office hours, Monday-Friday. Good grief! Since I had to be away all day on Sunday, I waited until Monday morning and then called Park Mechanical. They promised to have someone out by 2 PM of the same day. The tech (Ron) arrived a bit early, went right to work. and about 4 hours later he had installed a new thermostat (selected from a choice of types he had with him). Since it was programmable, he coded it according to all of my preferences of temperatures, taking into account time of day and season of the year. Apparently, the old thermostat had failed and had caused a 50 amp fuse to "blow." I am delighted with the service and will certainly call Park Mechanical for A/C-Heating needs in the future.

I never imagine that I can afford the services from Park Mechanical, because it seems to be a company with excellent quality, and usually quality does come with a price tag. As my HVAC systems are for rentals, I was looking for budget-priced systems/companies. I interviewed several companies, but was not satisfied either with their prices or specifications. I then thought of using a ductless system, as the central HVAC seems to be out of my budget. However, ductless systems require high technical skills for installation and Park Mechanical is one of the few companies that has the expertise for the installation. Then I made an appointment for John in Park Mechanical for an estimate. John came on time and was courteous and polite. He was knowledgeable in his trade and answered my questions satisfactorily. After he conducted a walk-through of the duplex, looking at the attic, crawl space and rooms arrangements, he then explained the size and type of system that would work best to meet my needs and budget. Instead of giving me an estimate on the spot, he sent me a detailed estimate the next day - 6 pages in total. To my surprise, his price was the lowest of all my estimates, and was actually quite significantly lower than the others. With this price, I would go for the central HVAC, instead of the ductless systems. However I wondered how they could do it at this price ( because I had checked more than 10 companies, and none of them compared to their price or specification. ) But John repeatedly guranteed their quality - all their technicians are employees and NATE certified, and they will not cut corners on the lower priced systems (like mine). The insulation and ducting for my systems would be the same as the other installations. They really live up to their promise. The final inspection from the county was a breeze - no correction. My duplex were rented. One of the tenants is a very detailed oriented electrical engineer. She commented that my HVAC system was the quietest she had ever seen and it was so quiet that she didn't notice that it was on. She even mentioned that the company who installed the system must be the best in the Sacramento areas. Besides for the unrivaled quality and price, their customer service is also top-notch. As I could not meet with them during week day, Doug came over on Saturday to meet with me, even waiting for an hour when I was unexpectedly called for something else. Their technician, Nate, is also great. His team worked diligently for 3 whole days. They were courteous and took great care to keep everything clean. Nate even performed extra service. After the existing thermostats were removed, he patched the holes and painted over them. He cleaned up everything, swept the garage and even volunteered to dump the garbage left from the previous owner ( mattress. TV, carpet, cabinets..). Ron, the installation manager, is very flexible. He co-ordinated with the electrician for the panel upgrades. When it was out of electricity for couple of days, he made a special trip to finish testing the system when electricity was on. Grady in the office is also very patient. Due to personal reasons, my appointment with the county inspection was postponed many times, 6 at least. Grady was always so cheerful to cancel and re-schedule the appointment for me. Also, when my other tenant moved in, we found out that the pilot light for the water heater was off. She tried to schedule with PG&E, but that took a week. We called up Park Mechanical, and they graciously sent someone to turn on the pilot light at no charges. A pleasant surprise came nearly a month after installation. I received in the mail a 2-years maintenance contract for the duplex, and a 10-years extended warranty for the HVAC system. Also, as my tenants performed the move-in checklist, they reported that every room was installed with a smoke/carbon monoxide detector, which I was not aware of. I have just finished the remodel for the duplex ( it is a real fixer ) and have worked with different contractors. This is one of the few who is absolutely self-direct and worry free - you just leave the job to them, and it will be done exceeding your expectation at the price and time specified. This is a great company, with a caring team of dedicated professionals, who all work together to deliver surpassing values and services to customers. I highly recommend it.

They were excellent. All of them from the salesperson, technicians to the people answering the phone at their companies location. They were prompt, efficient, worked hard and took their time to do the job right. They did a few extra things to ensure the system was set up as I expected. The best thing though is they were trustworthly and caring, while doing an excellent job. The couple extra bucks to use them was well worth it. Ron was on time, and did the work with no problems. I have a planned service agreement, which provides for two service visits at the start of winter and summer, and expedited service when there is a problem. It costs $270/year. In Sacramento, you need the AC to work, and this Planned Service Agreement with Park Mechanical is the very best way to ensure that it does. We have had problems in the past, and they have always responded, weekends, at night, whatever we need. They have become good friends as well as a dependable company.
Description of Work: Ron checked and serviced the Heating and AC systems on the roof and in the basement (in Sacramento you need both), including replacing the filters in both units.
