OMG Diversified Door & Lock

Paul arrived soon after I called him for an estimate. He offered several options regarding the quality of the doors that I wanted. I asked that the new lock use the same key as the front door. I had two estimates for the job and Paul's bid was lower by several hundred dollars. We immediately set up an appointment for the following week. On the day of the job, Randy worked steadily and maintained a clean environment. He did the job in seven hours as was originally promised by Paul when we set up the appointment. He was able to change the mechanism of the new lock so I could use the same key with both the front door and the new door. Both doors look great and are worth the money that I paid.

Paul came out to look at and discuss the job. He left a couple of door and hardware catalogs for us to review. This was good because my wife had previously selected some doors and hardware from the internet. The catalog provided much better pictures so my wife changed her mind. Paul provided an estimate which was less than expected, but higher than others estimated. However, after speaking with Paul and reviewing the catalogs, I was more confident that Paul would provide higher quality materials and service. After about two weeks the doors were installed. Both my wife and I are quite pleased with the top quality doors and hardware. The workmanship was top quality as well. They were able to install the new frame and molding around the garage door without disturbing the wainscot. It looks as if the door had always been there. Two of the doors were part of a double door into a den. Despite a slightly off square frame and uneven floor, they were able to install the door to fit evenly around the frame. My wife and i are also quite pleased with the workmanship. After seeing the result, I recommend to anyone that has tract home slab doors to replace them with higher quality doors with a bit of design. The difference is amazing. I would also recommend they call Paul at OMG to do the work. We will be calling Paul back in the fall to do our upstairs doors.

We made an appointment with him, and he did not show up on time so I had to call him. He needed to order a part from the manufacturer which took two weeks. I was not charged for the parts, only labor and he had to come out twice so I think it was a great price for what he did. It took a long time to get it fixed but I am not sure it was his fault and the quality of his work was good. I would use him again.

Mr. Nuzman is a consummate professional, who obviously knows his craft very well, based on many years of experience. He also knows how to treat customers very well, and to provide for them just what they need, perhaps better than what they think is possible. He and his partner did excellent work for me, and at a price that is reasonable. If I ever have any door-related work to do in the future, I will not hesitate to call him. I recommend him to anyone needing any work done involving doors and locks.

This started with the discovery of dry rot under the door sill and to address the dry rot, the door had to be removed. The door system had been inserted into an opening that at one time had been a slider. The French doors were not a standard size and to replace them was going to be expensive. OMG gave us options and that is how we chose the system described above. OMG does not do the dry rot repair, so once the doors were removed we had another contractor assess and repair the damage. As soon as that was completed, OMG returned to install the new doors. The installation took about 8 hours and we were very impressed with Randy, the installer, with his attention to detail and craftsmanship. From start to finish, we were impressed with the owner Paul and how responsive he was with the estimate and the follow through on every detail. This was very important to us since we wanted to get the dry rot repaired and the door installed (and painted) before the fall rains.

They contacted us immediately and came by the same day to evaluate the job and provide an estimate. They called back to confirm they had the parts and to schedule an appt. Arrived promptly on the agreed upon day, fixed everything in a timely manner and left everything very clean. Not only would we recommend OMG to our friends and neighbors, we would not hesitate to contact them again for future projects.

We probably spent more than we originally wanted to but it balanced out in great service. In the end got a durable and secure door that is so much better than what we had before and will not rot. The framing of the windows looks excellent and they provided two mockup examples that they built for us to evaluate. Excelent service which is key for busy people who really don't have time to do any hunting around for materials or provide a lot of direction.

I am thrilled -- could not be happier -- with the results! [Note: since I chose this company based primarily on the reviews I read on this site, I am equally enamored of Angie's List!] Paul himself answered my call (because it's true: "All phones lead to Paul") and the very next day (a Saturday) he came out to survey the work I needed done and provide estimates. (What a nice guy! Smart, personable and witty; just a real pleasure to meet!) He showed me catalogs of products to choose from and discussed the many options available (Oh So Many!). Based on our discussion of my wants/needs/budget, Paul prepared and emailed (early the next week) specific, detailed estimates for the choices we had narrowed it down to during our earlier meeting. I deliberated, re-examined my budget, and made my decisions. Paul came back a second time to get the final, specific measurements he needed and do the "paperwork" (work order and deposit), and we scheduled the job. Because my home is very "modest" (read what you will into that!), and my budget even more so, I went mostly with "lower-end" (albeit not "lowest-end") options: plain (smooth) finishes on the doors (i.e., no molding or insets) and common (i.e., not "decorative") knobs and locks. Still, the results are a huge step up from what was being replaced, on all counts. I was not present when any of the actual work was done (I was at work), so I didn't get to meet Randy. But my son (who was home both days) says he was a really nice guy, too. And, given that I saw absolutely no evidence that they had even been there -- other than my wonderful new doors, of course -- I can safely say that they take excellent care to clean up after themselves. The only "suprises" were positive ones: the extra (and, yes, "free!") work done to replace a damaged portion (just above the threshold) of the existing front door frame (which was NOT one of the ones I was replacing outright), and first removing and then repositioning/reinstalling my house numbers (to accomodate the new security screen door). Absolutely great work! When my budget allows, I will definitely use OMG Doors again! (Thanks, Paul!)

OMG (Paul) provided excellent recommendations and was able to obtain non-std. door at competitive price and install quickly. Installer (Randy) was 1st class....took his time to do the job right the first time. Would definitely recommend OMG.

Overall? I think I have covered all the details above. He was very helpful in laying out the options and I plan to select one of the options. After the door is fixed, then I can give a better "overall" assessment.

Paul came by for the estimate and was very helpful in describing the issues we had with several doors that were not sealing correctly. We are very happy with the new door and the function of the new handset and deadbolt. They also did a great job on replacing the weather stripping on the second door.

The cost may seem a bit high before the whole tail is told; to cut to the chase, the buiilder installed the door frame with the doors pre-hunged. This caused the door to be traped in the track. It took Paul & his helper over an Hour get the door out of the track without damage to the track. Overall I am very pleased with their work & professionalism

Took the two interior doors to them, They made 2 new interior doors and moved over the hinges and handles by the next day.

Overall, we are satisfied with this company. There were a few bumps in the road, which the company did work to fix. My initial call to the company was not returned, which I later learned was due to an illness. Not knowing about the illness, I still chose to call again due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews on this website. A free consultation was promptly scheduled. Paul was polite, knowledgeable and thorough and he informed us of the various options we could pursue. He told us that the estimate would be coming the next day. It took a few days, but it did arrive (we were later informed that it took longer to look up certain parts that were not locally available). The prices were fair and we selected the one that seemed to fit in with the rest of the house best. We scheduled a time for installation on a convenient date. The installer who came on the chosen date was about a half hour off of the given time. It would not have been a huge problem, however after an hour or so of work, it was realized that the current frame/door combo was not the correct size and would have to be redone. We had to reschedule for a different day. After an email to the company, Paul apologized profusely and took full responsibility. He then proceeded to reschedule on a Saturday (I'm not actually sure if they normally work Saturdays, but they were willing to work with us on the first available date we had). This was much appreciated on our part. On the given Saturday, Randy arrived promptly on-time, and installed a great looking door on a sturdy frame. The transom above looks excellent as well. We are very satisfied with the result, and despite the earlier rough patches, think the company did a good job.

Great job by Paul and Randy. Professional and knowledgable from start to finish. Both came to measure and talk through the job. Paul ordered the doors to spec after researching several different vendors to get the right product at the right price (including finding pre-primed doors per my request). In less than a week, they came in, he machined them at his shop, and he called to set an install date. Two days later, Randy arrive on schedule, installed the door slabs in less than two doors in spite of badly warped jambs, and they worked great. Very happy with their service from start to finish. Price was terrific, especially given I was getting ready to buy the doors from Lowes at about the same price and try to hang them myself. I never would have been able to given the untrue jambs, etc. It took professionals. Highly recommend them!

Our eight-foot sliding glass door had become increasingly sticky over a period of five years. Paul responded immediately to my e-mail and first came to examine the door within a day of my initial inquiry. He thought it might be repairable and on his second visit he brought a partner. They worked on the door for at least 30 minutes and finally concluded that it needed replacing, at which point Paul spent another 30 minutes giving us an estimate and explaining options. He twice apologized for not being able to repair the door. We then had several e-mail exchanges in which Paul gave much thoughtful and articulate guidance. As a new door would be a sizable purchase, I very much wanted to see and test the product before making my final decision. I eventually contracted to purchase/install a door from a company with an excellent installation reputation as well as an impressive showroom in which I could study many product samples. Though our final cost is definitely greater (as a reflection of the overhead necessary to maintain a showroom, salespeople and an office staff), it helped me tremendously to see and experience the final product. I originally intended to buy the door and have Paul install it. However, the warranty would not have been as comprehensive and it's always more cumbersome juggling schedules with two businesses rather than one, no matter how professional and cooperative they might be. I'm writing this report because Paul strikes me as a man who takes pride in his work and who gives honest, considered opinions. I was especially appreciative and surprised that he charged me NOTHING for at least an hour of labor on our door. That's great service! Though I'm somewhat disappointed that he won't be installing my door, I will certainly call him in the future if we have needs which suit his profession.

Contacted by e mail. Responded immediately. Came out gave an estimate. Explained what would happen. Promptly, service was completed as stated. Very professional. Quality of door appeared very good. Gave instructions on how and why to paint as soon as possible.

Great service. Paul came out and gave me an estimate. Told me what to look for in a door company and what questions to ask. Educated me about types of materials used and ways people will try to break down doors. I went with a fiberglass door and a security door. Paul and one of his employees came out on a Saturday (made extra time to fit in my schedule!) and installed the doors. It looks beautiful and more importantly it's very secure. I feel safe with the door on and it looks great too! While Paul was there I got a quote for another door in the house and hope to do that once I save up some more funds. They definately know what they are doing and I would recommend them to anyone!

Paul and Randy did a great job. I think it took a lot longer than they thought but they held to the estimate - more than four hours and a couple of trips for different parts. We gave a B for price just because it is very expensive when you aren't expecting doors to fail. But an Agie's A listing meant we did not even bother getting other estimates.

They were prompt and punctual. The quality of their work was good and I was satisfied with their service.
