Nerds On Call

It went very well, Chris W. helped me and it took most of the day. At the end of the day it appears my problems are solved. I have used NERDS repeatedly and always had very good results . Will continue to use them when necessary.

I called,switched to an entry site on the computer. Nerds then entered my computer. They did whaever they do, left a mesage anda Phone call advising the repairs were completed..

Did not tell me of service plan they began charging me for three months later.

Before I start, let me explain that this company is predominantly into computer repair, and has quite a few outlets over the West Coast and southwest.. Cell phone repair is not their central source of income, and they freely admit this. Reportedly, they purchase parts from cell phone providers who in turn tack on a profit. This, according to Nerds, makes their cost so high they have to out-price mainstream providers on repairs in order to make a profit. These guys are sharp, polite, handle phone call and escalation well, and present a generally professional appearance. The ONLY problem I have with them is the Amazing, breathtaking prices. I've been investigating private (e.g. not Provider) suppliers for basic cell phone repair. The target phone in this case is a Galaxy GS III with good digitizer and LCD, but a damaged lens (or glass screen). For DIY'ers, this screen costs new about $15-$20 on the Internet, and this moderately simple repair can be done at home, if you like that sort of thing. Most of the companies (over 12 so far) make this repair for you, including parts, for roughly $95US, some including shipping. More extensive repairs require replacement of the Digitizer/LCD screen, which hops the price up to around $190, again often but not always including shipping. Note that Best Buy and many others offer this repair at this cost. Nerds wants $329, not counting shipping. That's over the price of a refurbished phone and near or over the price of a new phone, depending on discounts available and such. The people I spoke to were bright and informative. They were kind enough to escalate the call to management promptly when asked to. Overall, I'd have enjoyed doing business with them except for THE PRICE!!!!!! I would call them in the future to ask about computer repairs, which is their expertise. But for cell phones -- too pricey by far.

The techs are courteous and friendly as well as being respectable my home. Im a bit sad that I am going to be moveing out of their service area. I so wanted them to come set up my multi household new wireless connection. Oh and there was one time that i wasent even charged for the housecall beause they couldnt fix what I needed them to do; Naught for lack of experiance but because what I wanted done just couldnt .. Would I hire them again.?? Thats a no brainier! Oh and the price I quoted was the most Ive ever spent. Lynda

They came when they said they would be there. He got it all done. The price was a little bit excessive considering the short amount of time he was there. I knew what the price would be going into it, but I needed it done.

ZERO--NO SERVICES OR RESPONSE TO AN EMAIL...

Chris was able to reconnect our entertainment system. He also gave us important information on hooking up a DVR in a separate area.
