They were general contractors and they came back for some things and some quality work. They're very good and I would recommend them to anybody. They were on schedule, they were reliable and they know their business. Their warranty is longer than anybody else and they're honest.
Description of Work: Mills Builders provided me a roofing service as well as a general remodeling service. They did everything.

It started well, but it didn't end well. We really liked Jonathan and everybody at Mills. However, there were some major problems that resulted in them agreeing not to finish the work, and us not paying all of the money. Also, they seemed to have problems finishing the little details. Here are some of the issues: * Person who drafted the contract was new (he was let go shortly after he did our contract) and he took a long time, and got several things wrong (wrong color of countertop, didn't include replacing outlets and light switches.) * There was a lot of miscommunication between Mills and the electrician sub-contractor that resulted in multiple rework (lights in a bathroom took 4 tries to be installed correctly) * Outlet and switches replacements were not included in the contract. We didn't notice it. So, we ended up with a house with white walls and 70's almond switches and outlet covers. We offered to split the cost of doing them, but they refused. They wanted full price. How does it make sense to do a whole house remodel and not change the outlets is beyond me. * When the painters came, they didn't cover the outlets and light switches so they were all splashed with paint. So now we had 70's almond outlets with white paint spots. At that point, they "compromised" and replaced only the ones that had paint on them. * The biggest problem was that the wall texture sub contractor forgot to remove the blinds when they started texturing. When we pointed it out, they took them down and put them in the garage. When it came time to put them back in, they lost the brackets. We had to wait for 3 weeks after we moved in to get the blinds installed again. When they were finally installed, we noticed that they were ruined. They used to be white and how they were black to gray due to the construction dust in the garage. In addition, most of them had wall texture splashes. * We asked to install some wire baskets in each of the 3 showers. We emailed the information 3 months before the move in date. We mentioned a couple of times during our weekly walk through that the baskets were missing. Finally move in day comes ... no shower baskets. They asked us to email all the information again. * The fan in the master bedroom wobbled so much that it was unusable. Again, we mentioned it several times in both our walk through and email. Nothing was done. We moved in and ... the fan was still wobbly. The tech from the fan company came out. All the fan blades were wrapped. So either the electrician sub-contractor bent all of the blades, or he installed blades that were bent. You would think he would check for something like that. * This is a very small point, but it's symptomatic of the issues. Besides the blinds I mentioned above, probably the only other thing we were going to keep was the doorbell. It was working fine. Well, during the demo, they threw it away, so they had to get us a new one. We had a regular doorbell, nothing fancy and that's what we wanted. It took 4 trips to get it sorted out. In one of the trips, they changed the doorbell button outside instead of fixing the door chime. It's a small issue, but it shows how the ball was dropped between them. It's a shame that things didn't work out because we liked Jonathan.

Great from beginning to end and the house looks beautiful. Mills are very professional and give great customer service. This was a huge job which required us to move out for a year while the work was being done. Mills took care of so many small things as well as the larger items. Danny the foreman was great, he really knows his work well and he was there to answer our many questions. All of the employees at Mills are professional and do first class work. We get so many compliments on the house and we love living here. If you have any work that needs to be done on your house Mills are the company you want. You will be glad you chose them.

Overall, the remodelling was exceptional: our contractor, Mills Builders, chose sub-contractors who came on time and were pepared to do their work in a professional, businesslike manner. The on-job supervisor, Danny DePiazza, coordinated all work in an extremely efficient way; he was always available for questions or an explanation. I cannot over-emphasize the level of cooperation that was maintained while we continued to live in our home during the entire remodelling process. We continue to be extremely pleased to recommend their services to friends, neighbors, etc.
Description of Work: New partial roof-structural architectural plan required; addition to master bedroom; kitchen- cabinets, granite, fixtures; new utility room and new bath, including tile and flooring; garage-structural changes; driveway-brickwork; flooring-hardwood and cork installations.

We have been working with them for several months now. They completed the kitchen work beautifully. Everybody they have sent to work on our home has been excellent. They have been wonderful and have made this large remodeling project so easy for us. The workers they send are always professional and easy going, if I ask them to do something a little differently or extra they have done it with no complaint. They work to provide great customer service. They have walked us through the entire process, from helping us with the design, they permits for us, they have even sent an interior decorator to help us make our home exactly how we want it. Their price was competitive and the quality exceptional.
Description of Work: They have been working on a large remodel for us. They remodeled our kitchen, put in a 3/4 bath. They also redesigned and redid part of our roof. They put in a walk-in closet for us. In addition to all of that, they also installed new flooring throughout part of the house. They moved a beam in the garage and we are now able to actually get our car in it. They also are redoing part of driveway using brick pavers.
