Description of Work: Because of the good ratings on Angie's List, I asked McDonald Plumbing to bid on a pretty simple plumbing job - installing a kitchen sink and faucet, and reattaching the dishwasher and garbage disposal. No repairs or emergencies involved. I had all the parts needed for the installation. Their bid was ridiculously high - $1200. (Other bids came in at $500 or less.) They also have what I call a 'scam' that gives a client 5% off if you buy an annual maintenance agreement (details unknown). I laughed the guy out of the house. And he talked about checking the backgrounds of the Mcdonald plumbers and why it was important; but he used the words "in the pen," which made me think he was all too familiar with that environment; made me leery of having him in the house.

Description of Work: No services were performed because McDonald Plumbing doesn't give free estimates. You have to pay $49.50 and then they will wave that fee if you allow them to do the work. I would rather have free estimates so I can determine the best price for the job. If I have to pay almost $50 for the guy to come out then I'm kind of forced to use him/her so I don't lose my $50. The other plumbers I've called are coming out to give me a free estimate and I will make my choice then.
