We have had several other lawn services in the past. I wouldn't recommend any of them. We had Jose come out and he did everything we asked of him. He is a soft-spoken gentleman who makes sure you are happy with the work. I would recommend him.

Called for an estimate on Friday, Jose came out the next morning for an estimate, and his team was on-site for the installation on Monday. Very quick and responsive - barely left me enough time to get the trees and shrubs! Crew showed up on time and got right to work, finishing the job in the early evening. Though they made some odd choices in configuring the sprinkler system (the drip area runs on the same valve as one of the spray sprinklers, resulting in a lot of wasted water), and the trees weren't staked for stability against the wind, overall the job was done well and thoroughly.

It went very well. Jose did the work as we had hoped he would and for a fair price. In fact, we are so well satisfied with his work that we have hired him to do our necessary mowing, trimming, edging, on a weekly basis, replacing a worker who had worked for us for some time and done the job less well than Jose. We would recommend Jose to anyone. His price for working for us on a weekly basis is $70. When our backyard redo is finished in a couple of months we will renegotiate the price to include the back yard as well. Fair price for good work.

We have used him for quite some time. He does a very superb and detailed job. He always comes on time and is very neat and clean. I like the fact that he removes all the clippings from my yard when he is done. We would highly recommend him to anyone in our community.

A time wasting experience. My first experience with Angie's List is just like Service Magic or any other unpaid listing service. Feeling ripped off.

I found Jose on Angie's list and called him. He returned the call within 24 hours. Came out the following week to bid the job and did the work 3 days later. Very professional; cleaned up after job.

Mr. Alvarez was always punctual, arriving right on the dot when he said he would. The estimate he gave initially sounded pretty good, and I was amazed to find that the figure included everything but the paver's. Once the start date was arranged, he arrived on time, and worked every day (except Sunday!) until the job was complete. He did an absolutely wonderful job, and quickly, too. We bought the paver's and arranged for them to be delivered at the right point in his schedule, so the job went without a hitch. As the work progressed, my wife liaised with Mr. Alvarez, and we found that the extent of the job grew. On completion, he mentioned the extra work, but wouldn't increase the price, instead he left it to our generosity, which we rewarded. We have had many neighbors and visitors since that have all complemented us on the appearance of the yard. Mr. Alvarez was totally trustworthy, and honest. A great pleasure to deal with, and we would heartily recommend his services to anyone.

I called Mr. Alvarez over a weekend, using Angie's List as my guide. He called me Monday and we made an appointment. He arrived promptly the same day. He was personable and to the point. We looked things over, discussed what I wanted, made some measurements together and he gave me an estimate on the spot. We negotiated a little, adding some additional needed work as part of the original bid price. He was very easy to deal with. I was responsible for getting the dirt and the plants. He ordered the sod. His crew showed up at 7:50 AM on the appointed day and got right to work. Mr. Alvarez came a bit later and worked alongside his crew. No fuss, no messing around. They worked purposefully until they finished over most of two days. We had maybe 200 sf of sod left which they installed elsewhere for no extra charge. They did an excellent job. I was completely satisfied -- very pleased with the outcome. I absolutely recommend Jose and his fine crew for anything you need.

Jose returned my call within a couple of days and made an evening appointment to provide an estimate. He was on time, walked the yard wit me, and told me how much he would charge. He estimated it would take his crew 4 hours to do the work, and that they could do it 3 days after we met! The crew of 4 showed up, including Jose, on the appointed day and they worked non-stop until the job was finished in exactly 4 hours. All members of crew were pleasant, hard working and would ask me exactly what I had in mind before doing something wrong. The work was done exactly as requested, for exactly the price, in exactly the amount of time estimated. Jose also removed a few other plants for me that I hadn't noticed and he had, and offered to haul anything I wanted with the load for the dump. They left my yard, driveway, etc spotless!

Overall the company was as I said. I did, however call another recommended gardener, who made an appointment, but did not show up or call.

Jose and his crew are punctual and do a beautiful job. The landscaping surrounding our house is quite extensive, with a combination of grass, trees, shrubs, and flowering plants and vines. It's obvious that Jose and his crew know just how to handle the gardens (e.g., in what way and how much to trim a flowering shrub) to make them look amazing. People often stop in front of our house to admire the front garden and to smell the roses (literally!).

He asked for $500 up front to cover buying the lawn. He doesn't provide receipts or any paperwork, but does live up to his word. He asked us to go and pick out the plants we wanted and transport them to our house. We also had to buy and deliver the bark ourselves. He has a team of about 5 helpers and works very hard.

Did not get a professional impression. Kept asking how did I get his number. Did not provide a written estimate.

There was a little creep in the cost due to needing some additional things done to get the sprinklers functional, but Jose always notified us of the additional costs up front and gave us a good deal. The only down side to the entire experience was that he recommended trimming a tree on the street (to allow the new sod to get enough sun), to which we agreed, but turns out it was a city-owned tree and a neighbor reported the incident and the city came knocking (I assume Jose wasn't up on the city's policy).

He did a terrific job and I was very pleased with how the patio turned out. On Saturday the rock and redwood bark was delivered and when I got home from work Jose and his crew were hard at work. I had Jose cap off a sprinkler line and then they put down the landscape fabric, rock, and bark. They planted the trees. Jose cleaned up both my front and back yard. He edged, mowed, and fertilized the lawns. When he was done he and his crew cleaned up until everything was spotless. I am very pleased.

From the time of the estimate through the completion of the job, Mr. Alvarez always showed up on time. He accommodated my need to have the work completed on a tight schedule; in fact, he had the entire job completed by the end of the week--a full week ahead of the initial schedule. Each day, after work was done, the job site was left clean. I could not be happier; the yard looks great, the work was high quality, I was treated professionally, and the price was very competitive. I have already recommended him to several of my friends!

Jose Alvarez did a terrific job, and I have now engaged his company to come out on a weekly basis to mow my front lawn and do general front yard maintenance. He arrived on time and worked continuously until the job was done, probably around 4 1/2 hours.

Jose and his crew actually arrived 2 days early due to weather concerns. They took up the old lawn, removed woody shrubs, roto-tilled the yard, installed a new sprinkler system, and laid new sod. They even blew all of the leaves in the front and side yard and washed down the sidewalks when they were finished. We could not have asked for more! They are now doing our weekly yard service.

Jose was on time and he did a great job. His prices are very reasonable as well.

He and his crew arrive on time every week and do a thorough job quickly. Jose is very professional and dependable.

i called him and he came by to check up. The next day he came and did the work. he said he would come the next day, very prompt, took an hour and a half. I was very pleased.

WE HAVE HAD THIS LAWN SERVICE COME TO OUR HOME FOR MANY YEARS. THE MAN THAT DOES THE WORK DOES A GREAT JOB. HE SHOWS UP EARLY IN THE MORNING and STAYS UNTIL THE WORK IS FINISHED.

THIS YOUNG MAN IS VERY WELL KNOWN FOR HIS WORK. HE DOES A GOOD JOB. HIS PRICE IS VERY REASONABLE. I REALLY APPRECIATE THE GREAT JOB THIS MAN DOES ON MY YARD.
