Would not hire again because of their inflexibility to provide 72 hours to resolve a situation that was impossible for me to meet. Carrot on a string - DETAILS: Written on Jimmy’s Piano We were happy with Jimmy’s until we hit a problem! Having moved out of the country we set up payments on an autopay before we left. Until 2016 everything was going well we were deemed valued customers. In June 2016 the autopay stopped we had no clue, it was so regular for 5 years we didn’t check. While we have had the same phone number for 8 years they were unable to reach us and we had no idea the payments stopped. Due to a separation, in 2015, I had no way of knowing! The other party not computer savvy did not indicate a problem. A payment for 6 months was made in 2017 by the other party. It became apparent in 2018 that Mrs. had to take over all the accounts of the other party. When the oversite was identified Jimmy’s Piano was contacted to workout arrangements to bring the account up to date. Initially, the receptionist felt he (the owner) would probably waive the lates of $600 to bring the account forward. That didn’t happen, he wanted half the late fees, to which I felt that is fair. I tried to work out a payment arrangement to bring this account forward by paying them $720 (back storage fees) in the month of JULY and requested to pay the final $300 late fees plus the $40 August payment by August 3rd after receiving the next pension check . We were told if we did not pay the balance by 8/1/18, they would not waive the additional $300 in late fees and they would begin lien processes. Is an additional 3days making that much of a difference to them? Had I not taken over the account, the piano would still be there they would not have received the $720 paid this month (July) and the account would still be in arrears! MY POINT IS, IF THEY WERE REALLY TRYING TO WORK WITH ME, HAVING INHERITED THIS PROBLEM IN JULY, 3 additional days should not force the account back in the ‘red’! I showed good faith in resolving this issue but they are now unwilling to give me 72hours to clear a check so I can send payment - they want to put the account back in the RED!!! There is no professionalism, quality, or responsiveness to this!!! Especially after being informed of the issues surrounding this account and my willingness to resolve this in less than 45days on a fixed income!!! Would I recommend? I will respond to that once I retrieve the piano! As far as fairness and goodwill, if you have any issue, don’t expect it from them! Why couldn’t they work with me for 3 days? So because I don’t have $1020 to send, (I did send $720) I will be hit with an additional $300! That is just wrong!!!! I could understand it if it went past 8/3/2018 being charged the additional but this is not customer service, this is penalizing me for inheriting an account I would like to get right! How do I create $300 dollars that I won’t have before 8/1? How do I pay the extra $300 without being in arrears? With this added on, it will stretch the repayment out for an additional 2 months just to cover the added $300, they were willing to waive!!! So of course, now the threats come - “On 8/1/18 the opportunity to settle the balance at a discount will expire and the $300 tentatively waived will be reapplied to the account bringing the amount due to $920 as August storage costs will become due and the account will go into pre lien status. - KENDRA”. I have no idea how we get to $920, my payments are $40 a month, I have nothing saying the amount increased! Apparently they have not applied the $720 paid them in July!!! READER: You decide is this someone you want to work with??? After being told they rarely ever get rid of anyone’s piano - because eventually people return for them! I gave this my best to resolve and only asked for 3 days to complete it as the finances were drained - so they want to now increase the debt further straining finances! DO YOU WANNA WORK WITH A COMPANY WHO CAN’T AFFORD 72hours to receive payment????

Response from JIMMY'S PIANO MOVING
Jimmy's Piano Moving strives to leave every customer happy and satisfied this includes excercising flexibility as warranted. In this situation, with no forwarding address and no working number to reach the customer since July 2016, Jimmy's Piano Moving went above and beyond anyone's standard of flexibility by keeping this account active for two years with one payment made the entire time. A courtesy was definitely extended not only by not placing a lien immediately as allowed by law but also by the willingness to waive a portion of the two years of accumulated fees. It is inconceivable that any storage facility would extend such a courtesy or allow the matter to remain as long as this has. The law did not require us to keep this account open for as long as we did, our sense of humanity and compassion did, and this is not satisfactory to our customer. Any merchant would have We have extended 30 days from the point of contact to bring the account current and find this to be very fair despite being unable to contact the customer for two years. (The phone number we had on file up until July 1, 2018 was/is non working, letters were returned and those incidents were sufficient to place a warehousemans lien on the property however, we did not.) I am sorry that we have failed to meet our customers expectations but am VERY PLEASED that when she finally surfaced I was able to reassure her that we did not dispose of or liquidate her piano despite the circumstances. I am pleased that despite the customers assertions and negative feelings surrounding our decision to expect payment for services rendered , Jimmy's Piano Moving literally "put our money where our mouth is" and demonstrated our company's integrity and dedication to our customer by not acting hastily to "make a quick buck" but continued to protect her property (ultimately at no charge) for two years and wait hoping that she would eventually reach out.....it is very unfortunate that now, not only does the customer not want to correct the matter within the time frame extended which is very generous, and with the amount of time that has elapsed, also warranted. Customer feels genuine disdain at the idea that we, at any point would set a boundary and expect to finally receive payment that is due and this is unfortunate as our company has and continues to act in good faith by holding the account, offering a discount to bring the account current within a reasonable amount of time and most importantly, being flexible in order to demonstrate the customer service that we pride ourselves on. To date, we have received $480 of the over $1100 due, meanwhile, fees continue to accrue. Our costs and the amount that we charge our customers has increased during the customers two year absence however, at no point since the customer made contact, have we ever implied that we would be raising her rates....once again, courtesy and flexibility. We no longer feel as though we are obligated to continue to carry this matter as customer, upon initial contact on 7/1/18 agreed to "bring it current today" and has failed to do so but rather chosen to become angry with us for enforcing expectations that have existed since the customer first entrusted us to store her piano. While quality customer service is always our goal, we realize that we cannot please everyone however, we will continue to pride ourselves on the quality and professionalism that we are known for!
