Jay and his crew were great! They were on time (or early) every day and did an excellent job. This is an old house and needed lots of prep work and they were very attentive to all the details and the clean up. Jay responded immediately to my calls or texts and really wanted to make sure we were pleased with our color choices. They were all very professional and we would definitely recommend them.

John and his crew did a a good job. Painted my house within 3 days, punctual and attentive to detail. John patched and repaired stucco in several areas. We just purchased our new home and were seeking to update the exterior color as well as freshen up the interior paint. We got estimates from 3 painters, but Jay stood out from the outset due to his easy and prompt communication, flexibility, and evident extensive experience and knowledge of what needed to be done. He provided clear guidance on our color choices, as well as type of paint, and more subjective guidance on some of the aesthetic touches we were considering, leading us away from bad ideas and into good ones with a friendly touch. He was able to immediately schedule and begin the job. His team did a great job prepping the house and landscaping prior to painting, and repairing a small area of dry rot on some of the siding. The painting itself was done quickly, but with precision and care. Clean up was complete, you could not tell the extent of the work that had been done just hours before. The final result is gorgeous. I had had my old house painted years ago and it went less than well, this experience was the opposite in every way. I give Jay and his team my highest recommendation.

I rarely write reviews but needed to make an exception regarding the superior service that Jay provided, painting the interior of my house. Initially, he was very quick to respond and set up our first meeting promptly. He and his crew were timely everyday that work was performed. When it came time to pain the exterior of our home and garden shed, we chose to work with a designer. She was very specific in her choice of colors, finishes, and brand of paint. We received proposals from five painting companies. Jay’s proposal clearly reflected the project exactly as the designer had it laid out. Jay was the one we felt comfortable hiring, and he did not disappoint. Jay’s two decades of experience are invaluable. He set to work with us three days before the start date and made sure that everything he purchased was exactly what we wanted. He showed up with his well-trained, competent crew every morning at 7:30 each day of the project. Jay was onsite 90 % of the time. Our house was his whole priority during that week, and everything was done well and done right. The lines are clean, and the coverage is superb. The house looks beautiful! Not one regret about hiring Jay, and he will be our painter for all future projects.

Very well. Jay completed the job in under 2 days. He replaced 5 facia boards and repaired several stucco holes. He did extra trim painting to make the from trim consistent. The painting is very good, no spills or spots on the ground. His team is very efficient and fast. Jay is very responsive to phone, text and email. Did not request money up front. Definitely would hire again.

When it came to having the exterior of our 1916, two-story, stucco home and detached garage painted, we chose Jay’s Painting Service based on the many excellent reviews the company received on Angie’s List. In the end, Jay and his crew lived up to those comments. When we called to get a price estimate, Jay came to our home the very next morning (a Sunday) and did a walk-around with us. He uses quality paint – in our case, Sherman Williams -- and had us visit the local store to view samples. Jay and a crewman came on a Saturday morning to pressure-wash the exterior. Jay politely met with a neighbor to arrange to work in that person’s driveway and to answer questions about the project. On Monday morning, he and his crew arrived promptly and began preparing our home’s extensive wood trim, which includes large eaves, two French doors and 32 windows (20 original old sash). Jay, Josh, Anton and the rest of the five-man crew were friendly, courteous and hardworking. They arrived on time each day and put in a full day’s work, pausing only for lunch. At the end of each day, they did a thorough cleanup and stored their equipment in an out-of-the-way spot. Whenever questions arose, Jay always consulted us. He made sure the job was being done the way we wanted. Then there were the extras. Jay expertly patched some stucco that needed repair, and he fixed a damaged garage-door frame. He also put us in touch with a construction-contractor friend who ended up doing an excellent modification of our patio roof overhang. Overall, we could not have chosen a better painting service. We thought Jay’s price was fair for our size home, considering all the window/trim work and spraying on two coats of quality paint. It was also important to us that he had years of experience working on older homes in the Land Park/Curtis Park area. We are so pleased with the end result and have already received compliments from neighbors and passers-by. We would definitely use Jay’s Painting Service again.

My older (1978) home was in need of minor repair before painting - facia trim boards, small carpentry replacing the trim around decaying garage-door frame, mold removal and stucco repair on old-chimney. Then paint. Jay's team delivered on 2,000 sq ft in just 4 - days. Wash, thorough preparation and carpentry, and paint. Three to four team members on site 10 hours each day. No trace of construction, repair or paint drippings anywhere. Paint results are excellent. I'm very pleased. I had bids 20% less, but quality matters for my investment. I chose Jay's for their insistence on quality paint products, education on the process, consulting on colors and their ability to deliver "Turnkey" services; one-stop shop for complete preps, minor carpentry, and painting. Jay and his team did a great job. What I really appreciate about his work is that he uses the same workers consistently; if he finds any issues (i.e., we had dry rot under part of the roof) he tells us, rather than just paint over it. His prep work was terrific. I will continue to use Jay's Painting. No, he is not the cheapest bidder...but he is one of the best...and takes pride in his work.

He came out and did a walk around and said he would give me an estimate soon. He gave me one the next day, Saturday, and I was waiting for the estimate from another company. I ask how long it would take and he said two day. By Wednesday, i had not heard from the other company. I said that I would like to possibly add doing the screen back door and front screen door and the garage door, and ask if he would like to do that and give me an estimate of how much that would add. The next day, I said that I had a person come by and fix the large stucco area and said it would be ready to paint in after the weekend so i am was ready to proceed. It is almost a month later and I never heard from him again.

Jay was not the lowest bidder, although not far from it, but I liked the person and his description of the project. I was not wrong. All of the project was completed just as agreed upon. The job is beautiful. I got all my wrought iron window coverings, fence and gate done as well. Jay's Painting certainly deserves his "A" rating.

I hired Jay's team to paint a duplex, as well as address some dry rot repairs the previous contractor botched. I cannot overstate how amazing the place looks now. I think that John is constitutionally incapable of doing shoddy work, and his dedication to excellence shows. I used Jay’s Painting Service in 2014 to paint the exterior of my home. This month they painted some of the interior. Jay, Anton and Josh (his team) did an outstanding job. They arrived on time each day, took great care to properly cover the furniture and floors, and worked professionally and efficiently. They even corrected my wavy paint line. In a world where, all too often, one is faced with contractor’s that cannot live up to their promises, Jay’s Painting is an absolute gem. We had both the exterior and interior of our fairly large home painted by Jay’s, and we are very pleased with the results. John, the owner, met with us both times to go over colors and to make sure he fully understood what we wanted. We were also consulted during the process if an unexpected issue arose, which we greatly appreciated. I would much rather answer questions then have to have a job redone or live with something I wasn’t quite happy with. They worked with us on scheduling, and completed each of the two separate jobs on time and with quality. Notably, Jay’s painting showed up promptly on time, worked every day without interruption, excuses, or pausing our work for “other jobs.” Jay’s even worked on Saturday to finish our job because our interior painting took 6 day’s of work (as originally estimated). It almost goes without saying, but the quality of the work was quite high as well. Our house is now the best looking on the block!
