Robert inspected the house that we wanted to purchase. I went with him after reading all his reveiw on Angie's List. Very impressive. Robert was able to inspect our house within a couple of days. He is very professional and thorough with his inspection. He walked us thru the house and informed us of his findings and all of his finding will be in his report, too. My husband and I are both very happy and no hidden charges. When he was done and we were about to hand him his payment I mentioned that I was to late to get his discount thru Angie's List when he had a special going on. He said don't worry I took that out already from the bill. I look at the bill and he certainly did. WOW, we will certainly use him again. Thank you Robert! .

I found Robert through Angie's List. When I called and interviewed him for the job, he was very professional and very graciously answered all my questions. We were going through escrow (buying a home) and wanted a home inspection done. While most inspectors have a minimum price of $325 for anything up to 2000sf, Robert charges $300 for homes under 1500sf, which I thought was fair. During a time when you have all kinds of additional expenses related to buying a home, every dollar saved can add up to a helpful amount. In addition, Robert was the only one I found who offered thermal imaging as part of his home inspection. I had been a bit worried about not being able to afford thermal imaging as an added cost to my home inspection and after I spoke with Robert and he confirmed that he actually did this at no extra cost, I was very relieved. The surface may look nice, but you really need to know that what's behind the walls won't turn your life into a financial nightmare. Day of Home Inspection Appointment. Robert arrives on time and is ready to go. Robert likes to take about 2 hours to go through the home and check everything by himself. Totally fine with us. Our realtor stayed in the house while we went exploring the new neighborhood. Robert went on the roof, entered into the attic, got into everything he could and checked every outlet, every switch, checked the HVAC and every standard appliance, the yard,... did an excellent job. When we came back, Robert walked us through the house and the yard and informed us of everything that needed attention and provided recommendations on how to fix certain things that we could do ourselves and, for more complex things, advised us on specialized professionals we needed to bring in. Now, if you have a bad memory like mine, have a notepad and pen handy and jot down things he says. I didn't take my notepad when he started explaining things, but lucky for me, my realtor (who is also my son-in-law) has a really good memory. All the suggestions he makes will not be in the home inspection report. His report is extensive, with pictures, and covers everything. It is available electronically online at his website within 24 hours. He provides a sample at his website so you can check it out before you hire him. The narrative part covers topic introductions and explanations, and lists every problem/situation that he has found and gives recommendations on which kind of professional to look for to address the issue. The summary part covers the things that need to be addressed before you move in. We requested certain repairs from the sellers and submitted the home inspection report with our request. They made all the repairs requested. Now, after closing, the report has been a very helpful guide as we are making sure to get the little things done and getting professionals to address more technical issues. None of the professionals that have come through have found anything that was missed in the report. I am very happy with Robert's work and I highly recommend him. Last I heard, my realtor hired Robert to inspect his mother's house, which she is contemplating selling.

I contacted Robert over a weekend and received a call back the same day. He was able to schedule an appointment with 6 days notice which was great. Communication was good throughout process. He showed up at the house just a bit earlier than scheduled and got right to work. He was very thorough and accommodated additional requests to look at certain items/areas (checking to see if a wall was a supporting wall). Appliances were tested, bathroom plumbing checked and electrical was tested. He even removed the cover of the main electrical panel to investigate the wiring. Very pleased with the detailed report and professionalism. Would hire Robert again.

Robert Harmon showed up early and started the inspection immediately. He is a super nice guy and doesn't mind you asking him a ton of questions. He went inside the attic and climbed up on the roof. He just checked every little nook the house had to be checked. Oh, and he also has a thermal camera that he used on every single square inch of the house! That was very impressive and a useful tool! He educated us on all sorts of things around the house...since we are a first time homeowner. The inspection took about 2.5 hours and he spent another hour with my husband and I walking the property both inside and out. He was both very informative and educational. We really appreciated all the time and detailed information he gave us. When I first called, I left a voicemail and he called me back a couple of hours later. He was very prompt with his communication the whole time...and I asked him many questions at different times. I would highly recommend Harmon Home Inspections to do your home inspection.

I met Mr. Harmon at my new house and he had arrived early (I'm usually early myself). He started immediately to work. After he finished his inspection, he walked around the entire house to show me what things he found. He explained in great detail what I needed to do to address the issues. Was very patient to explain for any questions I had for him. He advised that I would receive his report by the next day. I actually got the report by the end of that same day. The report was well written and detailed. I was impressed that he uses a thermal device during his inspection, which can detect and see through the roof and walls (he even showed me how it worked). It allowed him to see through the walls and roof for any leaks that might not otherwise be visable. I trusted Angie's List and was not disappointed at all! Called twice and left a message with call back number for a Home Inspection and no response. Went with Steve Parrish at Building P I, extremely pleased with Steve.

Mr. Harmon was prompt in responding to my phone call and made an appointment for later in the week. He arrived at our home on time and was very pleasant and professional while he looked at the problem. He explained his diagnosis very clearly and was respectful as he put it in layman's words. We finished our business and he quickly submitted his report.

He was right on time and very thorough.

If there was an A+ rating, I'd give it. I saw what I thought were cracks in the ceiling in my inside entry way. So I called and set up the appointment for the inspection. The inspector arrived on time. He took a close look - and (to my embarassment) it turned out not to be cracks at all, but where the top of the Christmas tree had scraped the ceiling when I had taken it out of the house. He even cleaned off the scrapes on the ceiling! He asked if there was anything else he could take a look at for me since he was there, so we took a look at a couple of things. He discovered why my deck had cracked (a palm tree near the house, which was not only causing a problem with the deck, but could also potentially cause a problem with the roof and patio support since it's too close to the house). I offered to pay him, and he wouldn't take anything since the cracks in the ceiling had turned out not to be anything, and the information about the palm tree was just an added observation. I would absolutely use this company again. Honest, really nice people.

He was prompt, personable, punctual and very knowledgeable. He explained all findings in detail and delivered the very detailed report within two days. I will hire him again when I need a house inspected next time.

I really liked my experience working with Harmon home inspection. He returned my email inquiry quickly and named a price ($100) that I thought was quite reasonable. He arrived a little early, and talked with us to fully understand our concerns. I showed him the massive tree, the lifted soil, the broken concrete walk, etc and he immediately noticed that there is a bow in the siding where the kitchen addition was added. He thought that might be from the tree. After going all over the house, (under, over and inside) taking into account my concerns, he came back with an excellent report. He didn't see any signs of roots under the house nor any signs of damage. The mud sills were still perfectly intact. He said the only thing he saw was a 1/4 inch lift on one side of one of the (hopefully I'll get this right without looking at my notes!) pilings not being perfectly seated on the concrete footing. He thought that was due to original construction error because other ones were shimmed indicating that they hadn't been perfectly mated either. A large crack in the ceiling of the kitchen he said was likely from the tree since it was located very near the tree and we don't have similar cracks in the rest of the house, but he felt that wasn't something to worry about and that many older houses have similar cracks whether or not they are near a tree. He had me pull out copies of the permits for the kitchen addition, and he's pretty sure the bowing in the siding is not related to the tree either. You can actually see that the cement foundation? above the ground is not quite lined up with the original house, so the siding had to cover that up and the net effect is bowing. He explained all of this and more sitting down with us. We asked many questions which he happily answered. One question is whether or not to remove the tree (a $5K - $10K project). He is pretty sure that at some point the tree will cause problems. The question is when. We may not be here long enough for the problems to occur and it is a beautiful tree. So, when we asked about monitoring, he suggested annual which is what we plan on doing. Great experience! Oh, and he did mention that our dryer venting tube had come disconnected and needed to be fixed, and told us how to do it.

Robert arrived promptly and performed a very professional home inspection. He allowed me to accompany him throughout the inspection. He explained all problems and possible maintenance issues concerning the house and gave recommendations for repairs and proper maintenance. Excellent and through professional work.

Everything was smooth and well-executed. I told Robert I was interested in renting the home, so he specifically looked for issues that might relate to tenants. He performed the inspection in about two hours and was very thorough. A few days later, I received an email with a link to the full report online, which was really helpful in sharing the report with my business partners.

Robert arrived on time and got right to work. He was intently focused on the inspection for about two hours. When he completed his inspection, he walked me through the deficiencies he found and advised what needed to be done to correct them. He patiently answered all of my questions. On a holiday Monday (after the Friday afternoon inspection), he sent me an e-mail letting me know that the report was ready to be accessed on his website. The summary and report were complete and easy to read and understand.

Robert showed up on time, and worked for about 3 hours without us getting involved. He then performed a thorough 45-minute walkthrough and brought all issues to our attention, no matter how minor. We covered major issues like the roof, and he even pointed out small details like a water spout having a partial handle. Overall, we are satisfied with the level of service and professionalism - and the inspection helped us knock a few thousand off the price of the house!

We called on Friday and he was available the next Monday. He was prompt and did a very good job with the explanation. He included photos. He even explained things we should watch for in the future.

Robert arrived early and was almost finished with the exterior portion of his inspection by the time I arrived. He spent approximately two hours giving the home a complete inspection. At the end of his visit, he walked us around the property, pointing out his findings and discussing them. He promised the report within 24 hours. His inspection was completed at approximately 4:00 PM and the report was completed when I checked my email at 8:00 AM the following morning. His report is issued via a link in the email, which provides a password for access. Once logged in, I was able to easily download and print my reports (one complete narrative report and one summary report). The finished report was very thorough and included photos and recommendations.

I really liked the digital report that he created and he answered a lot of our questions. He did tell us that the heat pump on the HVAC unit wasn't working, so we went ahead and called a HVAC inspector he came out and told us the breaker was turned off, once he turned it on the heat pump worked fine. so that cost us an extra 80 bucks.

My wife and I were under contract to purchase a home and needed an inspection as soon as possible. We called Robert Harmon, the owner, on Friday and he was able to fit us in the following Monday. He arrived on time and got to work immediately. We discussed areas of concern (it was an older home) and Robert explained some of the advantages and pitfalls of older homes. Robert inspected the pool, pool equipment, house (both inside & out), garage, fence, roof, electrical, plumbing and tons of other things. At the conclusion of the inspection, he walked my wife and I around the home and explained some of the items that would be on the home report. We were able to ask questions and felt really good about his explanation. This was to be our first home and we were not familiar with the process and Robert made us feel comfortable about asking questions. Robert's report was available within a day or so online in a downloadable format. His site was easy to use and password protected. From Robert's report, he determine there were several areas of concern (faulty electrical, hazards, items not up to code, etc) with the home. His report was detailed, with pictures and easy to read narrative. We feel his report helped us avoid a home that looked great, but ultimately might have not been what we were looking for. Subsequently, we used Harmon Home Inspections on another home. PS- Before we hired Robert, we spoke to two other home inspection outfits and his price was also the lowest.

Robert Harmon, principal, showed up promptly, was courteous, and answered all of my questions. My wife and I work out of our home and Robert was quiet and unobtrusive as he did his job. He gave me an insightful walk-through after he completed his inspection, gave me hints on how to approach items that needed attention. Robert uses the latest technology to compile his data - he conducted the entire inspection with his hand-held PDA. His follow-up report was available with a pass code from his website; it was comprehensive and well-done, with photographs and recommendations in red text to make them easy to identify. The report was also informative; Robert apparently is a Latin scholar, because in his explanation of potential material hazards in older houses, explained that the English word "plumbing" derives from the Latin word "plumbum", for the metal lead. This kind of thing added elements of interest to what could have been a dry report. I highly recommend this business.
