Don & Son Tree Service/ Don's Tree Service.

Don & Son was prompt and courteous. He suggested that I could save the tree by installing root barrier. I followed his advice.

This company is wonderful. They responded to my initial call within a few days by sending someone out to review what I needed and to give a bid. They were able to schedule the work in a timely manner. The crew arrived on time, confirmed with me what I wanted, went right to work and cleaned up after themselves very well. They went above and beyond and blew debris out of the gutters under the trees. I will certainly call them again when I need similar help and I recommend them very highly.

They send an arborist out to do the estimate. He was very educational and informative. We scheduled two days of work. As we got closer to those days, I found a bunch more work I needed and asked them for an extra day. They ended up sending three crews to work on an hourly basis so I could set the priorities. They did everything and a little more in one day, and it ended up being cheaper than the estimate. I was impressed that they talked me out of doing two of my tasks, on the grounds that I didn't really needed to do them and could save money. These guys know what they are doing and I will definitely have them back.

I was traveling a lot and I arrainged for the service about 3 weeks in advance. Because I had schedule the appointment 3 weeks prior I called the Don's Tree Service the day before my appointment date to make sure they were going to arrive and do the job. The young lady at the on the phone told me yes, and that the crew was schedule to come to my house at 8:00. On the day of the appointment at 8:00 AM sharp the crew arrive to cut down my tree. By 9:15 the crew had finished the job, they cleaned up all the tree trimmings and clippings an they were on my way. I had used Don's Tree Service a few years back to cut back the tree, and they did a fabulous job then, and they continue to do a fabulous job. I have plan on having some other trees trimmed in the near future and I will be contacting Don's Tree Service when it is time for the other trees to be trimmed.

I got to them from Angie's List. that was my second time using them.

A three man crew and their equipment arrived within the scheduled time frame. They were very friendly people and did an excellent job on the trees. I had expected nothing else since they have pruned these trees several times in the last few years. When they were done they cleaned up my yard, my neighbor's yard, and my swimming pool. The yard actually looked better than it did before they arrived. I would recommend that you use this company if you need tree service. They have always done a good job for me.

Don's Tree Service is a really exceptional company. After making an appt for estimate, we scheduled the work for a week later. The crew arrived right on time and were done in 2 hours. They cleaned up after themselves, all the clippings and did a great job. Kudos to this company!!

Provider's staff member was on time as usual with this service!! Excellent skilled employee that took care of my daugher's tree stump and huge root mass. The cost was so good for the service they offered, and they were so knowledgeable. I have not experienced a company like that before - as fast as they came out, as reasonable as the price was, and as good as the job was - the best we've had.

I called Don's because my neighbor's worker knocked a limb off our Japanese Maple and because we needed a couple of trees trimmed. The representative let me know that the worker had done a good job of trimming the limb and no further service was needed on that tree. He gave me an estimate for trimming my trees and a date was set for the crew to come. Robert and his crew came on the appointed time and trimmed our crepe myrtle. They also trimmed two large pine trees in our front yard. The crew cleaned up the trimmings and left the yard in good condition. Robert told me how to fertilize the trees with ashes. Because he said that there wasn't a lot of work involved in trimming the trees he gave an invoice that was $41 less than the estimate.

They were on time, asked what I wanted done and made sure I was satisfied with the service.

I had 4 very large date palms in a small space between my house and my neighbor's that were too big for the space and too close together. I also had a medium sized volunteer growing too close to my power line as well as into my fence line (40 ft tall). I contacted Don on a Thursday afternoon and when I came home from work on Tuesday evening, everything was done. No damage to the fence or the power lines and not a stump in sight. The gentlemen were very prompt! 8 o'clock am ON THE DOT.

It worked out great. They did the work in a hurry because I needed it done by the following day. They were able to come out and get it done in my time frame so that was very good. I appreciated their effort. I had no problems. They did a good job.

It went well. They were very responsive, came out when they said they would, and allowed me to add more hours at the same discounted rate. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They even gave me feedback on the other existing trees to help me in the future. They also went with me to the neighbor’s house to get permission since some of the branches were over the property line.

They did an extremely fine job and cleaned up the area around the house when they were done. They even cleared areas that were not part of the job to make sure everything looked nice. I had Robert give me an estimate for removing two trees in the future and the price was very\ competitive. I'll be calling them soon for that job

Wow! Wow! Wow! Is all I keep saying to myself about this company. From the very beginning when Dan who came out to give me an estimate I was impressed. Dan was so very nice and easy to talk with. He was very helpful in determining my needs along with my desires. I had gotten estimates from several other tree companies and none compared to his helpfulness. To top it all off, the estimate he gave me was so much better than all the others (all of which are on Angie's List). On the scheduled day to have the work done the crew arrived right on time, if not earlier than I expected. Now the even greater experience took place. Les (the foreman) an his crew were absolutely fantastic. Over the past 30 years I have had my trees trimmed many times and I must say this was the best experience I have ever had. Les and his crew were so friendly and polite I could not believe it. Even my wife was impressed. They went right to work and had no wasted movements. They worked like a well oiled machine. As they finished each tree they asked if I was satisfied. If I wanted a little tweak they took care of it with the idea of me being completely satisfied. When they were done with their work, they cleaned up as though they had never been there (they even blew out the leaves in my rain gutters). All I can say to the owner of this company is that he is really fortunate to have employees' like this working for him/her. Did I mention that their price was so much better than the others estimates I received, in fact one company was like 3 times the estimate from Don's. I thought they were over priced, and as I found out, they were. I would recommend to everyone to get at least 3 estimates from tree companies and beware of the Daily Deals offered for tree services. Get estimates from them, if you can, beforehand. In summary, I found Don's Tree Service to be superb and professional in all categories and I would highly recommend everyone to at least to get an estimate from them. My neighbors were also impressed with them and will be getting estimates from Don's as the need arises in the future.

I had specifically asked Kevin, the person who gave me the estimate, if Don's Tree Service used spurs when trimming trees. I was told that they do not use spurs except when removing a tree. Before the workers began trimming, I saw one of the workers putting on spurs. I went out and discussed this with him. I told him I do not want spurs used on any of my trees and told him that when I got the estimate I had been told that they do not use spurs except when removing a tree. The tree trimmer initially told me that he just needed to use the spurs to get up into the tree. I offered the use of my ladder. He used his ladder to get up into the tree, but a few minutes later came to my door saying he needed to use spurs to get out on the limbs. I told him again that I did not want spurs used on my trees. He gave several more reasons as to why he needed to use spurs, then finally said he is too old to climb without spurs and said that whoever told me that they don't use spurs was fibbing. I let them finish trimming the other trees that could be trimmed with a pole saw. I paid them $250 for the 2 smaller jobs. I have called their office to discuss the problem but I have not received a call back. Because no one has called me back, I assume that they were not truthful with me when they told me they do not use spurs except when removing a tree and I was lucky to have caught the guy before he used spurs to climb my tree.

This is the second time we have used them. They were on time and professional. Should there be a need for this type of service, we will use them again.

We have lived with a nearly dying Modesto Ash tree in our front yard for many years. It is just a few inches beyond the point where the County would be responsible for removing it and we are a middle class family with 15+ year old cars and not much extra money. So when our neighbor decided she wanted to remove her trees we thought it a great opportunity to bundle and maybe be able to afford to have the tree removed. We both obtained bids from Don's Tree Service, the bid billed my single tree removal at $100 more (per tree) than my neighbors. When I called to ask about the discrepancy the individual in the office could not explain why the trees, shown in both bids as measuring the same, were bid so differently. She offered to match the bid on my neighbor's tree and we agreed to that number. When the crew had completely removed my neighbors two trees, they knocked on my door to explain that our tree was twice the size as the neighbors and they could not honor their bid as they 'would not make any money.' Could someone have called me after the office person extended the discount and explained that in advance? I guess not. The crew did not offer an explanation just told me 'you are a stupid little missy' if I thought the trees, now gone so there could be no comparison, were the same size. I challenged them and they removed one branch, but then said that there were ants in the tree and they could not continue. I was not able to stand up to four strong men wielding chain saws, so they drove away. I attempted multiple times to contact the owner. When, the next day, he finally answered the phone I was told they had no intention of honoring their bid and would not return. He was not courteous, nor was he apologetic for the behavior of his crew. So now, the dead tree still sits in our front yard and I am left, emotionally bullied by a dishonest company. If you want to be bullied and treated disrespectfully, then this is the company for you. If you expect honesty or courtesy, I would steer clear of Don's Tree Service. FYI - when I asked the opinion of a few other neighbors, all thought our tree to be about the same size as the neighbors. No one could understand why they would charge so much more, unless they were just trying to see what they could get away with.

Very reasonable competitive price, arrived on time, work performed efficiently, cleaned up well afterwards, pleasant, courteous, professional company. I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them to others.

While Don & Son's estimate was very professional, with line items for every aspect of the work, they included a cost for a permit. I checked with the County, (and requested that the other two bidders do the same) and the County said a permit was not necessary. Their work may be very good, but I will never know, because they were just two expensive.

The day before the service, they called to see I was able to accommodate a switch from an afternoon appointment to a morning appointment, which worked out well for me. All four guys arrived on time at 8am. I met them outside and showed them around. They stump grinded all the stumps plus a few more I asked them to do. They also took away a Palm tree I chopped down. This additional scope to the project was welcomed and appreciated by the guys. My neighbor even came out and asked if they would have time to cut down a tree he had, which they accommodated as well. The increase in price was $200 and reasonable, I thought. Within about 2.5 hours they were done and were preparing to clean up the job site. I asked them not to worry about cleaning up my drive way as I wanted the wood chips from the stump grinding as mulch for the side yard but they did clean up the street. In speaking with them, two of the four guys had been with company over ten years and had even more years of experience beyond that, which was nice to hear. I recommend Don's Tree Service and would look to hire them again if given the chance.

They sent two crews out. I've had the western cedar tree pruned before and no one else has done this tree that well. I am a biologist and a pretty good pruner myself so I'm pretty particular and they really knew what they were doing. The cleanup was amazing. You couldn't even tell they were there and caused virtually no damamge to to surrounding landscape. They were unbelievably great! They gave me an Angie's List discount of 10%. I have to say, their bid was very reasonable especially considering how much work was involved. These guys really worked as a team and loved what they do. They were working so hard and were really proud of their work which made it a wonderful experience to have them at my home. I could tell they really respected their crew chef. It was just a great experience all around.
