The owner Dana Andrews provided excellent service in the preparation of our home for painting. The bid was fair, the quality of materials was superior, and the work was great. Dana and his partner Bruce took three days in their work. Each morning they would explain what work they were going to do and each afternoon they gave a progress report. When a question came up we discussed the options as a team. After view the work provided two neighbors came over and asked for contact information. We had a great experience with DMA and will use them again.
Description of Work: Got the exterior of our house ready for painting. Removed wood with dry rot, replaced with quality materials and excellent workmen ship.

Description of Work: I brought them in to perform repairs in my house. They did not obtain permits even though it was part of their bid, and I insisted several times that they obtain them. A tub was in a bathroom where they had to replace a floor. The tub tile was damaged. They didn't tell me about the damage: I found it on my own. Lastly even though they bid for using new materials, the contractor wanted to reuse old existing wood for a deck that needed to be replaced. I did not agree and I terminated his service.

Response from DMA Construction
The owner [Member name removed] is actually a very nice person who works in the health care field. He seems very professional and has an eye for detail. Part of the problem is there was a scope of works that was agreed upon by both [Member name removed] and myself and a contract was signed. I was informed by the loan representative that [Member name removed] would not be moving in for at least 2 months. As soon as the loan closed [Member name removed] decided he needed to move in right away so as not to pay two mortgages. Although this is understandable it does create some logistic problems while working on and in his home. I could only express concern about this but could not do anything about it. Right away [Member name removed] started to make changes in the scope of works, adding some work and deleting other work. As I was about to submit for a permit [Member name removed] changed items on scope of works that affected the permit and delayed the permit. At the time I was very busy so that the permit was delayed. We did however proceed on some work that did not affect the timeliness of the permit. As to using existing materials I did express to [Member name removed] that if certain materials were not rotted or damaged that I would want to use them. I did not try to hide this desire and actually discussed it with the loan representative when walking the job and to [Member name removed] prior to using them. [Member name removed] express his displeasure of this and each time I told him that I would in fact use all new materials even if said materials were not necessary. [Member name removed] and I never had harsh words through all of this and we both talked to each other as mature adults should. I'm sure that [Member name removed] is a wonderful health care provider but he construction knowledge is understandably limited. I think [Member name removed] will have issues with whomever performs his work. Nonetheless I wish the best for him. Dana M Andrews
