Curb Appeal

It went great. When I called him he was out of town, but he called right back to let me know that he was on a trip and that he would call me when he came back. He called me back, and we set a date to have it fixed. No more chirping, thank goodness!!

He was punctual, friendly and did a great job.

Provider was prompt, came out to do an estimate, arrived on time and did an excellent job installing 2 sets of grab bars in my parent's bathrooms. My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and needs some help getting in to the shower and bathtub. Provider did an excellent job installing the bars. His price was very competitive compared to other highly rated handymen.

This review is way OVERDUE, but I wanted to thank Steve for his handy work. I needed a TV wall mounted (extremely small space) for my elderly mother and was told the work "...would be a week or more out". Steve responded immediately and installed it early the very next morning. Time is critical when you are 89 yrs., old and poor health. Japanese TV is my mother's only entertainment outlet, and happily she was able to enjoy her TV shows for a month before going into the hospital. Thank you Curb Appeal!

The service turned out really. I asked him to rip up a wooden walkway. He did an excellent job. He stayed within the 2 hour time frame. He showed up on time and understood what I needed done. He did a very neat job. Scheduling was not an issue.

Steve was prompt (on time) and did a great job. He needed to pick up an additional specialty tool to remove our existing shower head so he went to a Home Depot (just a couple of miles away) for the tool. Added only 20 minutes to his service call. I hired curb appeal using a big deal from Angies List. Responsiveness was slow and when they came to do the work they weren't able to do very much in the allotted time. And it's not that the jobs were hard-- justhandyman jobs: Fixing the hinge on a door, raising curtain rods. They eyeballed the curtain rods instead of measuring, and then spent some of the Big Deal time correcting one rod because it was so was crooked. They didn't fix the leftover holes. They also said that they would fix the insulation on some doors. The insulation that they ordered didn't fit either of our two sets of french doors. Now we have two 8 foot pieces of special insulation we can't use and don't know what to do with. Friendly, though.

I called Steve based on an Angie's List availability. He responded almost immediately. From the point of sending him a text message with my address, to him showing up and finishing the work was about 3 hours. The timing worked out for both of us. His time on the job from diagnosing the problem, picking up the pieces of wood that he had chiseled out of the jamb was maybe 30 minutes. He reported what he thought was happening, what he would do (and did), and what sorts of fixes we might be looking for in the future. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. I recommend him and will use him again.

Things went very well with Curb Appeal. Steve, the owner, did the work. He was responsive to my first call, on time each time, diligent and experienced. He took care of business. I am so glad that he is on Angie's List because he fixed all the varied projects I had around. I wouldn't hesitate to call on him again.

Bought a Big Deal coupon 13Dec2012 for two hours of handyman service. Received email from handyman a week later asking for work details so that such could be scheduled. Sent email 03Jan describing work needed, contact info, etc ... and re-sent and re-sent that month as there was no reply. Turned my attention in Feb2013 to other projects and to travel. Re-sent the email describing work needed etc on 24Jun, and re-sent it since still no response. Finally received a response 11Jul indicating work could happen the following week. I then replied that I am now leaving on extended travel, would email again in a few months. Re-sent the email describing work needed etc on 19Sep ... and still no response to date. Too irritated now to re-send email yet again requesting a service that I paid for , and too irritated now to work with this gentleman if he ever replies. So, have just asked Angie's List for a refund.

The bolt on my door would no longer slide into the strike plate and I was having an extremely hard time getting the door open. Steve adjusted the strike plate so now it slides back and forth smoothly. Another door the lock kept falling off. Steve tightened the lock so it would stay on and I could use the lock again. He came the same day I called him. He quickly knew how to fix the problems on both doors. I have had Steve do all kinds of jobs for many years and he always does a great job!

His service provided was PERFECT and his text were so thorough re what he was going to do! Since about July we have been communicating. He adjusted the door on the back gate immediately, PERFECT! Then I didn't hear from him for awhile, after he scraped off some of the paint on the interior hand rails; however he contacted me several weeks later and explained he had a medical issue that need to be addressed. Anyway, once healthy again, he consulted with Kelly Moore, removed the caked on paint on the stairwell handrails by belt sanding outside and hand scraping the inside and oiled the handrails to seal and waterproof them. Doing this now will repel the dirt, the handrails won't peel, chip and are easy to clean. He also patched the holes where one rail was removed. Presently he is determining what paint color matches the hallway.

did not return several phone calls - finally responded to email. when he did come to do the work the screws that came with the pulls were too short, so we went to Lowe's to buy longer screws. he measured to make sure we got the right length and still we bought screws that were too short.he kind of botched some of the holes he drilled and took so long I had to help him finish the job. He's a nice guy but he seemed over matched by what should have been a simple task.

Steve was punctual, quick, and thorough. I didn't want any extra holes in the interior door jam so he only put screws in the top of the pet gate to door frame since the top was the part that wouldn't stay in. He's pleasant, respectful, thorough. I've used him once before & appreciate that he's punctual and inexpensive.

The installation of the grab bars went perfect. They look terrific and were put in exactly where I wanted them. Same with the towel rack. I thought the bender board repair would take awhile but Steve fix it quickly. I have had Steve do all my handyman work for 17 years. He always arrives on time, does great work and cleans up after the project is done. Don't know what I would have done without him all these years.

Steve was on time and friendly in his work and got things done to our satisfaction. I would use him again.

Steve came out to connect the electricity to our overhead range hood and to attach it to the wall. However, while attaching our stainless steel hood he dropped a wrench that slid across the hood and onto our wood floors. We tried to protect the hood during the work but Steve used a personal fan while doing the job, so the material that we had protecting the range hood flew off. The wrench left a long scratch on the hood and damaged our wood floors. Steve was very pleasant and personable but he should have taken greater care to protect our property while doing the work.

My front door had been sticking for months so on returning home Thursday evening, I was surprised to find the door hanging by only one hinge It was too heavy to close. First thing Friday morning, I called Steve and left a message. He got back to me about midday and said he had just finished a job and could come right away. I was thrilled since this was the first of the two-day record-breaking heat wave. He had to do more than put in screws. He shaved, added wood where the wood was cracked plus lots more. my door is not only closing, but is quiet as well. I am thoroughly pleased and I am considering another project for Steve to complete.

Went well. He offered to located a replacement piece to avoid me having to purchase a new faucet. I was short on time and unable to wait. The replacement worked perfectly. It was fast and easy. Also, replaced a door knob that had completely fallen apart. It was fast and easy. Will use again! Friendly and helpful.

He did an excellent job. The guy’s name is Steve Albert. He did a quick, easy, and fast job. He was competent and efficient. It was a good special because it usually cost a lot more than $37 an hour. He was very responsive. I called them, and just a couple days later, we kind of set up a schedule to do this. We were able to arrange a schedule that was very good for the both of us. We have one more hour, and he just told us to keep track for little things that we want done, and whenever I have an hour of worth of stuff, I would bring him back.

Curb Appeal did a great job. They were very professional and punctual. The price and quality was excellent. I would use Curb Appeal again in the future.
