CREST CARPETS

I was getting my Antelope house ready to be a rental. When I called and spoke with the manager, Dennis, he was very nice and responsive. He came out that day or the next to look at my house. I was impressed w/ his responsiveness, because this house was kindof far. It's in Antelope. He lived in Roseville and said it was on his way home anyway. He measured. I went down to the showroom the next day and picked out 3 samples that he recommended for a rental. I picked one and called to tell him which one to use. I hadn't had something big like this done to a house ever and wanted a little handholding. Dennis promised me he'd personally go out to my house the evening of the install and check to make sure it was done correctly. Day of Install: It's been over a year now, but I think the guys showed up on time. ** I did NOT like that they had the heater going full blast (it was on ON, not AUTO), and all the doors in the house open! ** I fixed the heater (set to auto, at a reasonable temperature) and told them to leave it alone and keep the doors shut as was reasonably possible. I don't remember much else about them except that they spoke NO English so it was very hard to communicate with them. I think it was two guys. Maybe a third. Dennis never showed up. I waited and waited and called and called. He didn't call back. After the installers left, I remembered I had the samples in my car. I compared them to the carpet installed and honestly didn't think they installed the right carpet!!!! How can you tell? Again, I called Dennis (this is his cell phone, not the office phone). He never answered and never called me back. In the earlier messages I had said I was waiting for him at my house to check the job. In this message, I said that I thought they installed the wrong carpet. I thought it was thinner than the sample. He never returned my call. I was very busy doing other things to get this house ready to be a rental, and buying another property elsewhere. My renter is a friend, he said the carpet seemed fine to him, so I just let it go. I left Dennis a message on his office phone and cell phone a week or so later telling him I wasn't happy with what was possibly a bait & switch operation, and I really wasn't happy with his about-face treatment of me. He was so nice at the beginning and then to drop me like a hot potato. It was the worst customer service ever, and for something so expensive! This wasn't just a bad meal, it was a house full of carpeting! I'm now in the process of carpeting my 2nd home, which is right around the corner from Crest Carpet. Think I considered them for this job? Not on your life.

I really can't be very fair in my judgment because this is the only carpet company I checked on for carpets. However, I was pleased with the selection and the service personnel. I didn't shop around because I found what I liked.

The flooring was great. The floors were not installed close enough to the wall, and the floor boards had to be shimmed out from the wall. Installers left a huge mess - Burger King wrappers on the floor, wood shavings all over. One of the installers was good (Paul Kentros), and he went around fixing things that the rest of the team had done incorrectly. We have since heard that they have one good installation team. Company didn't have an option for affordable floor boards, we bought them ourselves at Home Depot. Installers had to come back multiple times to install floor boards along the walls, another time to install 3 borders on floor between rooms, and another time to deliver the extra wood we had ordered. It took a lot of calls to make those visits happen, felt like they wrote us off after the main part of the floor was put in. I would not use them again unless I had a different (more responsive) sales person, and only if I could have Paul do the work.

THIS COMPANY IS VERY WELL EXPERIENCED. THEY HAD THE JOB DONE THE SAME DAY THEY STARTED. THEY CAME OUT PREPARED AND GOT RIGHT ON THE JOB. THE MAN THAT CAME OUT WAS VERY POLITE.
