 + 0 moreTHE WORST MOVERS EVER!!! I have been moved at least 15 times by the military & by the State of California so I know good movers -- Colonial Van & Storage and Allied Movers is the worst move I have ever had. The driver, Bryan Maxwell, showed up 3 1/2 days late, did not arrive until the afternoon, had only 1 helper and 1 moving dolly with the straps broken (so not much good). However, he did find my dolly in the load, used it right away and then took it with him when he left (in other words he stole it)!! Driver Bryan dumped furniture everywhere from the garage to the second floor. Everything was taken apart in multiply pieces (chairs, tables, armoirs, entertainment centers, china hutches, storage shelving, beds, dressers, piano) and these pieces were scattered everywhere!! They didn't finish unloading until 10 pm so dark & unable to even see where anything was. Then Driver Bryan said he had to go and wouldn't be able to even put anything together (not even beds & mattresses)! We spend a week trying to find all the pieces and parts and put everything together ourselves!!!!! We had to make multiply runs to Home Depot as all the connecting hardware for everything was nowhere to be found!!! But the worst part of it all was the DAMAGE. I have a lot of big cherry wood and oak furniture. Everything was badly scratched, dented or just plain broken (some were broken in multiply pieces). Two large family pieces (an oak armoir & a granite entry table & mirror) that have been handed down thru my family for generations were totally destroyed!! The house we moved into has beautiful, expensive hardwood floors. Mover Bryan and his helper managed to leave big scratches in every room. I did not pay the $600 extra that Colonial Van & Storage wanted to insure the load as I've only had to put a claim in for one item in all those 15 other moves & surely didn't expect this horrible move. It seems Colonial Van & Storage didn't even have confidence in their own service and wanted extra money!!! I'm thinking Dave Cabal, the general manager, is laughing all the way to the bank with my $18,000!!! DO NOT EVER USE COLONIAL VAN & STORAGE OR ALLIED MOVERS OUT OF SACRAMENTO, CA!!! YOU WILL NOT RECIEVE ANY OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD ITEMS IN THE BEAUTIFUL CONDITION THEY WERE IN WHEN IT LEFT YOUR HOUSE!!
