On time 8-4. Very professional. Very clean and neat installation of new system and removal of old. Three men; Domenick, Gabriel, and Marius. Couldn't ask for better people. They were great. Good product, good price. Highly recommend.

My rental property manager called to tell me that the heat and air unit at a property I own wasn’t holding an even temperature, and, at times, was shutting off. I requested that he also ask the repairman to 1) give an estimate for replacing the intake grill, as the current grill was difficult to open and 2) check out the entire heat and air unit for any “maintenance needed” items. The repairman replaced the hot surface igniter for $250. Their estimate for replacing the grill and cleaning the “indoor coil” was $450, which seemed high; I needed a second opinion. Over the past five years, Clarke and Rush had replaced five heat and air units for me. I had never called them for repairs, but they had earned my confidence. I asked them to check the entire unit. Several days later, Clarke and Rush emailed a “Work Suggested” form, with the following items (my comment italicized): ESA (ESA wasn’t defined. Extended service agreement?) $159. Blower clean--found blower and wheel very dirty $229. Clean the evaporator (coil) $329. Found blower run capacitor leaking oil $129. Gas line doesn’t have a sediment trap $229. No condensate trap on evaporator coil condensate line $129. Remove old intake grill and install new filter grill $229. Total $1,433 Two weeks after the Clarke and Rush appointment, the tenant reported that the furnace still wasn’t holding an even temperature. The igniter was not the problem---$250 wasted. A friend recommended Southern Comfort Heating and Air. I met Mark at the property and watched as he worked. The evaporator coil and blower were inside a difficult-to-access compartment behind pipes and coolant lines, and required a bore scope to examine. Mark said the coil and blower had only a light layer of dust. Surprised, I asked to look; both were nearly dust free. Southern Comfort Heating and Air’s invoice: Blower and wheel are clean 000. Evaporator is clean 000. Replace capacitor $61 (NOT $129). Replace intake grill $86 (NOT $229). Retrofit not required for the sediment or condensate trap. Check out the unit and service call $89. Replace defective thermostat, which fixed the problem $182. Total $418. So much for loyalty!!! When I call a company, talent is important, but trustworthiness is even more so. I have other rental units, but I'LL NEVER CALL CLARKE AND RUSH AGAIN..

Installers on both days were right on time ready to work. Very organized. Wish they would have took the time to explain what they were doing along the way, and explain why ... Did not receive any feedback unless I asked.

Clarke & Rush is a terrific company to do business with in Sacramento. They are honest, fair and very accommodating in terms of scheduling, customer satisfaction and "getting it right the first time." The owner is easy to deal with in terms of explaining various invoices, calling to follow-up on the work that was done, and making certain we were pleased with the results. Eric Rust ad Zack Hackett are outstanding service technicians who really know what they're doing and go over each action in great detail. They go "above and beyond" to get everything repaired or inspected in a timely and highly professional manner. I particularly like the fact that they put on little booties when entering your home so they don't mess up the carpets or hardwood floors. It's a small thing but also means they do the big thing really well. Clarke & Rush (and technicians Eric & Zack) are at the top of my 'Angie's' List' for always providing me with "A +' performance in Heating & A/C.

1. The staff engineer (sales rep) fully explained the features, advantages and benefits of the proposed system in layman's language and furnished brochures and detailed written cost proposal. He provided direct, satisfactory answers to my questions. 2. Installer arrived promptly at pre-arranged date and time and removed the old units and installed the new ones. He was very friendly and professional and I was confident that he knew what he was doing. 3. A final inspection will be done by appointment in a few days. 4. I was quite pleased with every aspect, in particular the professionalism of the employees with whom I had direct contact. I tend to be demanding and critical, but in this instance I have nothing but praise. I am a retired corporate management trainer and it was obvious this firm recognizes its employees are the face of the company to its customers. Bravo!

The gentleman emailed me the results of the diagnostic test, but refused to include the Model number and Serial number. He said it was for internal use only. I had to call the company and they gave me the information right away.

The estimator, Aaron, provided me with lots of information to help me understand the process and make an informed decision. The installation was done quickly and professionally by Tony and Tobias. They did an excellent job, left the work area spotless and even programmed the thermostat to match the settings on the one they replaced. I would recommend Clarke & Rush to anyone who asks, and I would use them again.

Mark Thyne of Clarke and Rush provided estimates for my evolving SMUD HPP work, patiently providing professional estimates over the course of nearly six months. I sent out a final request for proposals in June but didn't receive a proposal from C&R, so I went with another contractor. I talked with 5 or 6 HVAC/window contractors over seven months. C&R provided typed, detailed, professional estimates with equipment specified. Although the work is done by others, the sales person sets the tone.

Started the day the promised. On time every day. At the end of the work day the clean up was complete. Handled all the rebate paperwork. · Catching up on our paperwork after almost 7 weeks of home improvement projects. HVAC replacement and whole house fan installation started & finished on time. Almost every day generated a huge mess. At the end of the day it was impossible to tell the crew had been in the house. The crew members were Serge, Dominick Bryan and Ron. I probably missed a couple of the crew who were quickly in & out. The crew all were very courteous & kept us apprised at every step. Answered all my questions & did not mind my observations. C&R did all the rebate paperwork and obtained the maximum for the work we contracted for. Great job at a great price. Technician arrived in schedule time frame work. Checked the heat/air control in the house for the exact problem, as stated by the unit. Checked the air conditioning unit in the backyard, found unit not getting any power, double checked that all functions on the unit were were in order. Went to the Electric Box on the side of the house, found that in a recent service situation with PG&E a breaker was turned off, they performed service and never turned the breaker back on. Technician pointed out the problem, I flipped the breaker to the correct position and system was up and running. Tech reviewed the system once again confirming all was okay. Appointment window was 8-10. He arrived at 9 and spent 2 hrs going over my system with a fine tooth comb and then writing a service report. My system is about 11 yrs old and they have serviced it for 7 of the past 8 yrs. He quoted $500 to clean an evaporator coil which he said should be a high priority (this was an existing condition that none of their techs had discovered in the previous 7 years). He also said the blower and motor needed service/replacement soon. (I got a 2nd opinion from another company and, with the exception of the evap coil which I got cleaned for $140, the rest was normal wear and tear). I have heard that some large HVAC companies pay their techs a base salary plus commission on whatever they sell, so maybe that's why this guy spent so long on my system. I felt like he was trying to get me to start thinking about getting a replacement for my 11 yr old system. Although we've been Clarke for annual inspections for over 8 yrs (we had them at another house as well), I am leaving them. Something has changed and I don't like the push to replace an 11 yr old system.

Somewhat rocky at first, but 2nd crew did great job.

They arrived at the appointed time and were completed by about 3 PM. They replaced the plenum chambers going into the roof area because the house was built with an AC unit that had the intake and outputs that were reversed from all of the currently manufactured units. This included having a third party crane company exchange the old and the new units on the roof. They sealed the existing duct work at all of the room registers of the house to meet the new efficiency guidelines. It was further tested a few months later by the county and had no problems passing the tests. The crew was very conscientious in getting the work done and were very neat and tidy in doing so.

The service was excellent and we had no complaints. They left the work area perfect. We checked about 5 different places and they had the best price.

Our home is around 50 years old, and we have not had good heating and cooling to some areas for some time. Based on several inspections by different contractors and an energy audit, we learned that there were problems with both the subfloor and attic ductwork. We also decided this was a good time benefit from multiple rebates by increasing the attic insulation, installing a whole-house fan, and replacing our 40-gal. water heater with a circulating on-demand heater. The HVAC and duct replacements were done by Dustin and Luke over the course of a week. They communicated regularly with us, worked very hard in, above, and below the house, and took great pride in their workmanship. We were impressed by their professionalism, and would gladly have them work for us again. The whole-house fan and water heater were installed quickly and very competently by other professionals whose names I didn?t learn. They ran a new gas line to the water heater to ensure proper pressures. The insulation work was done the following week by Art and T, who sealed seams, foamed the skylight shafts and blew insulation to 16? depth. Art took photos of the height markers throughout and showed them to me when he finished. All the workers cleaned up their work spaces well, were courteous and friendly, and we were very satisfied that the job had been well done. We were able to reduce the total cost by 20% because of rebates from our energy companies.

I have used Clarke and Rush since I purchased my house in 2002. For this most recent work, I needed to completely replace the roof, and decided to go ahead and replace the HVAC as well (it's on the roof). I have always found them to be responsive and professional, and have never felt like they were just trying to sell me something I didn't need. Dustin, Luke and Dominic were absolutely great, with attention to detail and made sure they didn't leave me with a mess. They explained everything they were doing, and were very pleasant. They coordinated well with the roofer, and I think their professionalism influenced him as well. They discovered that the existing ductwork had disintegrated, and gave me a great price on completely replacing it.

This is my second new unit install with Clarke Rush. Scheduling was done, Dustin and crew showed up on time. Came early, left early. Very clean. Took 3 days for the install. Replaced some ducting. It was a really clean job just as my prior house 10 years ago. Great people. Good price. Go above.

Arrived on time. Lots of brownie points for that! A crew of 4 young professionals. Very courteous and explained things including little details. It is always in the details and each one took the time to explain why they were doing a certain thing and how they were doing it. We had an old system that needed replacing. Mark the salesperson started it off by not trying to oversell. We liked him right away and it set the tone for the rest of the process. The contract was easy through SMUD though other financing was available. We just liked the ease of the transaction. There are other choices out there in HVAC land but this company made us feel right about our choice. The primary reason we chose Clark and Rush was because of the service people primarily Eric who helped nurse the old unit along until it was unsafe to keep it running. I am confident that if we have a problem they will do what every is necessary to fix it. By the way, this is not a paid endorsement. Just a happy customer.

I had a service agreement at that time. Even though they were the lowest in price, I did not agree with what they were going to install so I did not use them. My old heater and a/c were very old and inefficient. The size of the air conditioning that they were going to put in this house was way oversized. I did not like the person that I was talking to. He basically told me that I was going to be making a mistake by going with the lower unit and yet I’ve lived in the house that had a two and a half ton air conditioner with a slightly smaller house. I know that 4-ton air conditioner is overkill for a house my size and because of that, I did not go with them. The pricing was the best because it was the lowest.

Clarke & Rush did a great job at a fair price. We got a highly efficient HVAC system, and they were able to obtain rebates for PG&E and SMUD for us. Mark Thyne was great to work with, he spent the time explaining everything to us, and Mike did a great job with installing everything well and coming up with creative solutions to some layout challenges in our historic house. I highly recommend both of them!

Dustin and Luke did a nice job over a period of 4 days. They came early and left early. They went above and beyond their job by attaching the bathroom fan vent not attached by the remodel contract 12 years ago, (when they took out the skylight - something I regret to this day) to the roof jack water moisture that would eventually do some roofing damage or worse. They also did what a few other contractors overlooked - replaced a bad electrical connection. All in all doing the home performance project should get us through the first half of the 21st century comfortably.

My mother had a 20 year old system and received higher quotes from other companies besides Clark and Rush. She was able to get immediate service; they were very attentive and did a very good job.
